Oh it just BREAKS me that this was the very first thing Morrissey decided to create when he was given full freedom by an excellent guitarist to create whatever he wanted to

Kudos to these guys for never reuniting for the millions of rabid fans that would pay top dollar to see it happen. A bouffant has a shelf life and we must all respect that. I will tell my girlfriend that it was all for the best when she emerges from her coma. As she folds upon herself with grief, I will reassure her that the torch has been passed. That there is (was) an Oasis in the dessert of time, and girls of spice. It was not all just a Blur, but had actual meaning. Yes, the Queen now truly is dead, but the torch has been handed on with minimal American infiltration. "Bloody hell, what !?. Oh, that. I did say minimal, luv.... Luv? Back into the coma she goes...

Has anyone ever heard A Matter Of Opinion - the Holy Grail of "lost" Smiths earliest recordings? I followed the band from start to finish, but have never heard it. I believe it exists on an old cassette that went for an astronomical price when auctioned.

Some of Morrissey's choices for singles and album covers were sometimes daft. Richard Bradford, Richard Davalos and Truman Capote?? The great Murray Melvin and obvious Kitchen sink stars would have been better!!

They were in their peak. A proper management would have helped the lads, truly sad that Morrissey never agreed having someone in place to manage the band. It is all history now. I thought that The Wool Hall was dismantled but heard that artists still use it.

Following Johnny Marr's recent explanation of his first guitar on "The Pedal Show". I think that the "phaser" sound we're hearing is actually a built-in effect on his 1977 Gretsch 7680 Super Axe (his first guitar used in The Smiths).

this is absolutely 100% their best song. i love the smiths so so so much. their lyrics are written as if shakespeare kissed morrisseys pen, like, really. and i think it’s beautiful because though most of their songs aren’t about girls and stuff, when it is, it’s beautiful. it’s not like “she’s pretty” “she’s cute”, it’s like then analyzing her in every way and writing about her life and certain interactions and stuff. AND. especially how much they talk about eyes. this song, jeane, etc etc. beautiful

Sounds like Morrissey singing with Oasis. Or something from Morrissey's 90s-era solo albums.
