I was there - and I could hear them play - but didn’t bother watching them cos I hated them at the time. I then moved to Didsbury Manchester (to form a group) and ppl kept playing the first album. After a while I realised - to my abject horror - that I was starting to ‘really like’ What Difference Does It Make. The rest soon followed - I’ve loved The Smiths as much as any parent loves their children - ever since. Never got to see them live - despite driving with girlfs and band mates to Llandudno - for The Queen Is Dead tour - in exceptionally high spirits !! Only to be crushingly disappointed ☹️ to find out it had been cancelled !! Aaaargh !! Fuckin disaster or wot !?!?! We ended up in some shitty pub that was playing The Carpenters all bleedin night. What a comedown !! Apparently when Morrissey walked out on stage holding the QID placard in Preston - a bunch of little Englander nob heads out to spoil the gig - started lobbing shit at Morrissey - he was hit in the face by a sharpened 50Pence coin - he dropped the mic 🎙 and stormed off - refusing to do the next gig - ie: the one we went all that pigging way for. Sometimes things in life just don’t fall right. Got to meet JM in later life tho - lovely fella too. Cheers 🥂 and hope you enjoyed my wee Smiths story ! All true as I live & breathe. Rx

Esto es histórico , aunque al parecer no tuvieron mucha acogida por parte de la audiencia , morrissey dijo en una entrevista que la mayor parte del público estaba en otra y que prefería no volver a presentarse ahí

Was there and have fantastic memories if a little blurred by certain substances. I know Morrissey didn't enjoy himself due to a small number of dumb fuck half wits giving the band a hard time, which probably resulted in the relatively short set. However, listening back, they were really on form and I can guarantee that the majority of those naysayers will have been spouting the 'I saw The Smiths at Glastonbury' line...well you can shove a bunch of Gladioli up your collective arse...may the soil forever fall over your heads!
