This idea of playing the empires is what led the Germans to the stab-in-the-back conspiracy that eventually led the Germans to the Holocost. Its also what drives organisations like AIPAC. Its also what caused(s) the dual loyalties dilema, which is what causes resentment among the populations of those empires, which is what eventually leads to the demise of Jwish people

Correct me if I'm wrong. Isn't his summary at the end basically ' if we understood the others' story better we could find a solution like King did'. I see the situation far more is the sense like Chamberlains era with Nazi Germany that you cannot reason with evil when it just wants to be the super power of the world and that is the exact ideology of the Islamic world. After all the Palestinians had no issue living under the Ottoman Empire, because they we're at least muslim. There aren't many places in the world that haven't been colonised. I,ve learnt alot here, but i don't come to the same conclusion of how to bring about peace. Because king used the values of American society to make away for change which are fundamentaly superior to the the Islamic values of the middle east. You couldn't make the case that king made with a barbaric ideology such as Islam. Just like communist ideology, fascist ideology etc...there are superior value systems we can live under that make an environment for that change to be even possible. I'd love for someone to challange these thoughts of mine, because I'm open to learning something I've most likely missed in my analogy❤

No. It's not anti-Semitic. They want Israelis to stop stealing Palestinian and kicking Palestinians in the West Bank out of their homes! And stop ethnically cleansing Palestinians in Gaza.

Why are you conflating the Islamic nations together, like as if they should be expected to protect/defend each other?? Should each predominantly Christian/Catholic nation defend each other?

"we don't talk to each other any more" is true for lots of relatives living in Ukraine and Russia. It's sad how easily people stick to a tribe and become extreme adherents. Admitting mistakes raises credibility, why attempts to hide do the opposite. There is a credibility crisis between palestinians and jews.

Thoughtful, yes, but if he thinks that a western-styled MLK approach is going to work with the Palestinians, he's nuts. The Palestinian side is actually using the MLK approach to great effect.

Sigh. I remember when I had a history professor, who was just as enthusiastic and engaging as him, also teaching me lies. Unfortunately, this is mostly propaganda. He takes documented events and mixes in false intentions, guesses, and racism. Unfortunately, many are going to disagree with me because of how enthusiastic and gripping he was, but just know, there's a reason he had to perform like this, especially to such malleable minds. It's no wonder why so many Israelis grow up to have genocidal rhetoric towards the natives. The US said the same thing to it's students about the native Americans.

Brilliant. I have heard this valuable information before. A critical issue that has not been is the migration to the West and the attempt to undermine Western countries and governments force the West to convert to Islam. They will state it when pushed to. They refer to their supporters I'm the West as "useful idiots." I see evidence of this when they put Palestine flags everywhere. I also saw a story where Palestinians were pasting over the names of the college buildings with Arab names. For years, the West destroyed so much of their world. Now is the time for revenge.

1:43:43 The world and Israel doesn’t care about Palestinian non violent struggle. Would be good if you acknowledged some of that. The Israeli left has never had any power because the position the Zionists put themselves in. You can’t be liberal when you have made the natives around you hate you because you did bad things. I would argue that the Arabs and Muslims dislike of Jews comes from the atrocities the Jews committed. Jews didn’t hate Nazis because they were German.

1:29:47 none of the other atrocities in the world or this, id say bigoted, Theory of Islamic failure takes away from the atrocities and injustice committed by the Zionist in 1947 and the state since 48. Actually, I’m going to go as far as to call this a racist view. If you don’t acknowledge and explain the dramatic preferential treatment of the European Zionist by the British. This man is spewing not only bigotry but racism.

1:27:11 enjoyed some of the early parts of this lecture but it took a pretty major turn when he just white washes all the Zionist atrocities. And here, he implies the British “turns” on the Zionist. Such a glossing over and misrepresentation of history. Makes me question the interesting parts in the first half of the lecture that I’m less informed about. Sad he can’t be more open and honest because I imagine he knows the true facts but is paid to teach the whitewashed version.

I've never thought of the argument that Zionism is imperialism as being about them siding with empires. Zionism is about conquering and colonizing the land that was once Israel and Judah. "Imperialism" does seem a bit off, since it's about people who want to live their conquering it rather than about conquering people who live in places other than where they live, but that's why they use the term "colonialism", which makes a lot more sense: Zionists colonizing Israel/Palestine is like Europeans colonizing the Americas (except without such strong connections to mother countries in Europe), and in both cases the natives eventually had to be removed because either they were just in the way or they were getting violent in their opposition to the new colonists. I must admit I do hear the Israel-Palestine conflict being framed in terms of a larger conflict between the imperialist and capitalist "West", and mainly the USA, and the rest of the world or something like that.

But he’s seems to be avoiding all of the Zionist plans/understanding that the natives would need to be transferred and all of the Zionist violence towards Palestinians in the 20’s & 30’s. Will be interesting to see if he mentions Zionist Terrorism in the 40’s.

A lot of shouting about intellectuals. Elites. As if they do the fighting, the farming, the building. When the elites do not resist the Mullas, the Rabbis, even imagine they are one and the same history tells a tale of endless bloodshed. Gandhis and MLKs are atypical of the religions that seem to have grounded them.

at 1:10:41 , i have never heard of a direct order from stalin through the czech republic to arm the jews, this seems made up to me czechoslovakia did provide jews with arms, but only because they needed money and they kind of allowed jews to smuggle arms through their borders. i don't think stalin was ever a supporter of the jews, but he did acknowledge a jewish state probably because he wanted it to be socialist which was the main point.

Jewish in Judae and Samaria just chilling in their home. - Roman Empire: You don't belong here. Move out! - Jews: Okay, let's move to neighboring Middle eastern regions - Islam Caliphates: You don't belong in Middle East if you're not Muslim. Convert or go away! - Jews: Okay, we want to be Jews so let's move further north to Europe. - Europeans: You're not true blooded European and stealing our money, fk off! - Jews: Let's go back to our homeland in the Holy Land. - Arab countries: You're invading our Holy land, we're gonna attack and push all of you into the ocean. - Jews: We have nowhere else to go, let's fight. Jews won and established the state of Israel. - Palestinians and their supporters: You're colonists! You're not indigenous people! Go back to your empires in Europe!

...don't forget the betrayal. That the only people who opened their doors to those refugees had to lose everything to them. Those poor refugees who were chucked out Europe for a reason, refused entry into the US for a reason and yet you are the only ones in the world who embraced them. It is indeed your fault that you did not foresee that they would one day turn against you and call you 'human animals." It is indeed, the source of the world’s oldest hatred.

The pre-eminent obstacle to peace is Israel's colonisation of Palestine. I expect that the only way forward to a sustainable future here is equal rights for all. Israelis are here to stay, and Palestinians have to accept this. Palestinians are here to stay and deserve equal rights in the land they were displaced and excluded from. Not "separate but equal" but actual equally. Not you don't belong here because we colonized your land, and your existence doesn't fit our agenda. No more Palestinian concentration camps. No more bulldozing Palestinian homes and farms. No more separate Palestinian IDs (remember the yellow stars?). No more denying Palestinians access to any part of Israel, including roads, settlements, services, and voting. Palestinians must have the same rights as all other citizens in Israel. The idea of creating a Jewish settler state in the Middle East was at least as stupid as the movement to send blacks back to Africa, but here we are. What happened to the Jewish people of Europe was absolutely horrific. However, those people had not lived in the Middle East for a couple thousand years. If a Jewish state was to happen it would have made more sense to carve it out in Europe as thats where most of the settlers were from. But displacing a bunch of Europeans was too problematic. They thought that doing so in Palestine was doable as Palestinians were(are) considered to be less human and without human rights compared with Europeans. There is no justification for what Israel has and is doing to the people they pretend never existed (a land without a people).

I’m not sure I like the repeatedly implied narrative of faulting the Palestinians and ottomans for not “being able to stop” Zionism. Resembles a lot of the pro-colonial points made by the British in Africa. The speakers repeated use of the “elite” tag to describe (and clearly drive away sympathy from) Palestinian leadership seems contradictory to the diminishing point he’s trying to make
