All the videos and photos on this channel were filmed on our property in Western Australia.
Although the animals do not fear us, they are wild. They come and go as they please. We do not feed any of them except the bobtail skinks who occasionally get a treat. The bobtails can live up to 50 years, so over the years we have lived here, some of them have worked us out for the suckers that we are.
Apart from filling the birdbath, we resist interfering with any of the birds and animals that live here.
If we wished to have pets there would be no shortage of applicants. But as we show no inclination to do so, they have come to accept us sharing their turf, and simply tolerate our presence.

Beautiful birds! Have a nice day! Full enjoyed!
Thank you😊
maybe they smell something so good, my friend. Look yummy. Such a nice time have this with family.
Hahaha thank you! They are curious, but they also know that the fallen branches that we bring for the fire always have termites crawling over them and for them that is a special treat😋
Wonderful bird! Have a lovely day! Full enjoyed!

😊
Amazing bird audio.
Its so good I just had to watch again. Who else imagines like ...humanises what they might be saying to each other. It becomes quite comical when you think of it this way. Anyhow Love your videos Wild Sending the luv and support your way.
Who else??? Doesn't everybody😁 I think if anyone would spend more time being surrounded by animals than people, like we do, they start to feel like animals are just kids with fur or feathers😐
Awesome and fantastic, Super amazing birds sitting on the branch of a tree and chilling out, Fabulous presentation, Superb performance 👍👍✨🌿🐦🐦
To me, he sounds like an annoyed cat 😄 Very cute sound nevertheless
Really! I think he sounds more like a grumpy old man😅Have you ever heard the Australian Wood Ducks? I recon they sound just like an angry cat. Actually a few people have commented on that when we included them in a video we made of the Waterbirds on Ellenbrae. I think sometimes the Australian Ravens also sound just like a baby crying if you hear them from a distance. Tank you for your engaging comment Ekaterina
@@wildhomevideos Haha, I've checked them out, thanks. Maybe, there is something similar, but I'd still prefer a cat (even irritated one) over a grumpy old man 😂
@@SilverOwl9 😊
Beautiful, thanks for the video.
Beautiful close-ups. I'd like to know what they're both laughing about. 😊

I just love listening to this raven now. so funny.
Maybe we are a little prejudiced but we think that the "Australian Raven" has the most interesting call. Thank you for your lovely comments
I actually love listening to this handsome Raven. So cool. Sound like a human calling each other. Nice.
They do sound human sometimes. It fools people visiting from other countries

Awesome Kooka's sing ❤ And I hear the Magpie and Raven voices 😊 in the background. Thank you 🙏🙋🍀💗💗💗
Thank you for writing Maria. We would like to make another Raven video but our Ravens are not about. We have had an exceptionally dry year. The rains have only just properly started. A lot of the birds which lived on our property left to places where food was more abundant. Our Raven couple have migrated to a neighbours paddock who was feeding his sheep regularly by spreading oats on the ground so the Ravens cleaned up the leftovers. Now that our paddocks are green and they can forage for worms after the rain we see the Ravens again but not all the time like we used to. It will take couple of months for the insect population to build up and then the birds will come back. And hopefully the Ravens will also grant us the pleasure of their company 😊
@@wildhomevideosThank you for the informations. O, sorry for the dry time. We have a hot days, but rain and storm quite enough. I wold like to share with you the european rain... 🌧️🌧️🌧️ I wish you wet and not to hot weather. All the best 🙋♀️🍀
@@Mari.888. Thank you!
Very nice birds.
Thank you
Wow The color ❤❤❤
It is an amazing flower. Unbelievable that it grows wild in our harsh dry conditions
Wow.... amazing...
Thanks a lot
This video I watched at least 100 times , together with my rescued magpie Bella , this is her favorite , especially the bit at the waterhole . she is really actively listening and trying to nip the birds on the screen . We soft released her few month ago , but she comes back to eat mealworms and than we watch birds videos , she is also fascinated by European birds . I must compliment you for the BEST SOUND ever in a tube video . Keep up the good work , brilliant effort , thank you
Thank you, we really appreciate to have someone comment on the audio quality. Coming from a musician is even more welcome. We find it really hard to record a good clear sound of bird calls. Even a slight breeze creates unwanted noises and the mike picks up the sound of an airplane or car from many kilometres away. To tell you the truth, it takes us longer to edit the unwanted noise out of the video than to edit the images. It is really heartwarming to read about Bella. What a great little friend. We nursed a fledgling male Magpie some time ago. He would go everywhere with me. We called him Buddy. When he grew up he would sit on my shoulder and preen my eyebrows. An acquaintance once saw that. His jaw dropped down and he got all panicky. "That's dangerous!" he said all nervously shaking his hands😅He clearly didn't understand how loving that little bird was. It is really good that you still take care of Bella. Magpies belong to a tribe and mostly don't survive long alone if they get separated from their tribe. Other Magpies will attack them if they try to forage on their territory and it takes a long time before a tribe accepts a newcommer if ever, so Bella will need your support. It gives us a nice feeling when we think that there are birds which benefit from our videos so thanks again for letting us know about Bella😊
Very cool, thanks for the video.
Thank you!
One surprising thing is that they do not seem to bath on a hot day.
I never actually thought of that because we rarely see them taking a bath, but you might be on to something there. We also noticed that on the rare occasion when we see one taking a bath it is the females. I don't believe we have ever seen a male taking a bath on our place. We have seen videos of male magpies taking a bath in the eastern states but our magpies are a different subspecies so maybe that has something to do with it too. Thanks for your great comment.
WoW. Beautiful and so funny. Thank you for your amazing sharing
Thank you! We appreciate that!
Yes, I also remember hearing their calls from Tarzan movies. I am glad to see and hear your beautiful captures. They have a lovely range of sounds and personalities I would guess. Sweet couple! Best regards, Cathy
