There is so much conversation going on. It really is wonderful to hear the different voices but especially the butcherbird's lovely voice. All our videos are filmed on our property and our equipment is not of high quality so we have put a lot of time and work during editing to get the best out of the footage we have. Thanks Rocky. They do that a lot. One starts to sing and another one finishes it off. It really confuses you when you don't see them. You can't tell which direction the sound is coming from

really lovely singing, so pretty. i have four grey butcher birds thst come visit me now. one is a youngster, who makes that typical baby sound. i like that i can now pick out their voices amongst other birds, thanks to videos like yours. ❤

That's great. Thank you very much for your comment. Please keep in mind though that in this video you can only hear the call of the Pied Butcherbirds although the butcherbird preening is a juvenile Grey Butcherbird. We live on a rural property and city birds behave differently, but on our place we have never heard both the Grey and Pied Butcherbirds call at the same time. Maybe it is just a coincidence, but that is why there is only the Pied butcherbird calling in this video. The Grey Butcherbirds don't have as melodic a call as the Pied and sometimes it sounds a bit squeaky, like their voice can't quite hit the high note😅

Some mornings are like that and other times it is completely quiet. Usually when it is wind still and perfect for recording audio I go out with great hopes and there is not a sound to be heard....😐

Thank you Helena! Yes I understand what you mean. We live 100km from the city and the silence and sounds of the birds are the noises we mostly get to hear. At least there some perks form living away from all the conveniences of the city😅. Mind you most people we know would not be tempted to trade!
