    @@midnightblue9999 yeah for sure I do run Calix Guided by Fate which also can copy and enchantment. he is also an enchantment so you get to draw off him coming out, only 3 mana and can also pump your commander every time another enchantment comes out. The condition to copy is you have to do combat damage with an enchanted creature so maybe that can be a little tougher in certain situations Yenna doesn't seem as good since she 4 mana and not an enchantment herself. Then she costs 2 and tap so you cant do it the turn she comes out typically. Maybe im wrong though and should give it a 2nd look

    Yep, I am adding Annie instead of the shaman so that my eggs don’t hit it. Also, I’m going to experiment with Lurking Predators and Cream of the Crop combo. Cream also works well with the theme of the deck. I’ll probably remove Eldritch Evolution to test and something else for the cream. I’m eager to see how stacking the deck works. Plus free creatures with lurking could be insane! I can see this deck instantly being one of my favorites. Also, sylvan tutor is probably going in since it’s a worldly tutor clone and is crazy in this deck.

  • @commanderinsight
    @commanderinsightАй бұрын

    @@Bondman007Vids Those are some spicy combos. I've used lurking predators in the very early builds of this deck. I never used cream of the crop in here though. I've used both individually in other decks. Cream of the crop didn't really do what i wanted it to but again i didn't use the 2 together. I'd say by themselves they aren't great stand alone but yes together they can basically keep dropping huge creatures whenever an opponent casts anything. What always happened to me with lurking predators was i would keep whiffing good non-creature cards and scrying them to the bottom in an attempt to dig for a creature, then would draw the big beater creature because my opponents didn't cast anything more just by happenstance. It happened too many times for me to justify the 6 drop enchantment lol. I hope you have better luck with it. If your focus is to try and stack the deck i'd also look into congregation at dawn. Its a wordly tutor for up to 3 creatures. Could be useful with lurking predators. I currently run both annie joins up and harmonic prodigy. My reasoning for not taking out prodigy is because even though its not great to hit when you need a beater to block or attack from an egg, she will allow you to get double the beaters every time thereafter. I dont know the statistical numbers but its more likely she will hit the battlefield over annie joins up. shes cheaper to cast if they end up in your hand and can come out from egg triggers that dig through your deck which really helps the odds of seeing her. also i put maskwood nexus back in the deck (not in video) and that makes everything and egg but also makes everything a shaman/wizard so any time any creature effect triggers it does it twice. this is huge for a lot of effects where annie only lets legendary creatures trigger twice. but both of these work well for Atla either way. Its nice to have both to increase the odds of getting at least one of them out so your eggs double. It can get crazy when you have a token doubler out and a double trigger, you pay 2 mana, make 2 eggs instead of 1 and then get 4 beaters out from it. Last thing, someone else in the comments mentioned using life finds a way. I'm really looking into this again now that we have the ability to make more eggs. This card alone can bring out almost all the creatures in your deck. As long as you can keep an egg token out, you can sac another egg, bring out a beater with power 4+ then populate to make another egg and sac that egg do it again, populate and keep it going. If you wanted to make it a guarantee you an make sure every creature has 4+ power. Let me know how it goes with your brewing and testing!

    @Bondman007VidsАй бұрын

    Wow. Thats some great insight! Thats why I really like your video. The reasoning with the harmonic prodigy makes perfect sense. The flaw to the lurking predators/cream of the crop is the age old problem with edh, getting 2 cards out at the same time can be almost impossible at times. I think I’ll actually play it the way you currently have it made and then perhaps make tweaks as I go. I really like the thinking behind this deck though! How do you feel about adding Court of Grace to this deck? Would it be any good?

  • @commanderinsight
    @commanderinsightАй бұрын

    Hey, thanks for sharing. My honest opinion is I feel court of grace would be tough to maintain in order to keep getting the angels. Any of the court enchantments have alluring effects if youre the monarch but you need blockers and ways to keep the monarch or get it back. Best case you get 1 angel each turn. Worst case it’s a 1/1. The other 2 angel generators can make multiple during our turn and I think play into the enchantment strategy a bit better. If you’re leaning into the token build and just want as many token effects to make lots of them and go wide then it could be a cool include. I’d also recommend archon of suns grace, divine visitation, ajanis chosen and then the 2 card combo I mention in this video that gives you infinite tokens

So the bigger your graveyard the more options you have. You can get cheeky with it and use effects that bring back multiple creatures and keep recurring them. If you’re looking for a commander that brings back a creature without paying for it that would be Meren of clan nel toth. She’s golgari black green and a lot of fun too. If ever you want to get the engine going faster, you can swap in some low cost Shapeshifters. This way you can play one before Atla comes out and directly sac it for an "egg" trigger once she's out. This also doesn't make it an issue when flipping an egg into a Shapeshifter as you can simply sac it as an "egg" to go get a creature. I had a version of Atla with multiple Shapeshifters and as soon as you get a trigger doubler ([Harmonic Prodigy], [Illusionist's Bracers] or the new insane [Annie Joins Up]) it goes crazy; Sac an egg, flip out a Shapeshifter and a Beater, sac the Shapeshifter and repeat.

    @@NF-nn9ij awesome. I think Karador is just overlooked because of how old he is but still the best due to the colors and options. The best part about him is you can really build the deck around any creature strategy you want. There really aren’t any “must haves” other than the staples that would be run according to your strategy. This video uses hermit druid and big beaters along with vito. So I do a lot of self mill and then try and do like a living death or bolas citadel. You could do aristocrats, tokens spam, spirit tribal, abzan good stuff, sub enchantment theme and a bunch more. I plan to make updates probably after the ixilan set but there’s nothing crucial in the set that Karador absolutely needs. One card that stood out is the new Ghalta tyrant stampede. Since we already run greater good the play is to reanimate ghalta for cheap like with an animate dead or something, then on his etb activation you sac him to greater good and draw 12 then proceed to drop all the creatures in your hand onto the field. Also if you haven’t seen, I made a Meren deck tech because she can be just a powerful and fun and technically the Karador deck was a meren deck first that evolved and added white. @@commanderinsight Nothing fancy. I dropped most of the big creature reanimation strat from the Teneb build and leaned more into a toolbox with Aristocrats and a healthy amount of self mill. So we can slam Avacyn or Moonshaker Cavalry, rinse and repeat small utility and removal creatures from the yard, and also attempt to drain em out with cards like Syr Konrad. Certainly not a focused build but I want to try out some new cards and learn from playing.

And most graveyard decks don’t let you have white so he really can add a unique flavor to the deck. I built mine to be fast but more so to be resilient. Is it okay to LOL to this? Was it paper or online? If it was paper i would say thats insanely rare and dont let it deter you from playing the deck with that strat. If it was online, i don't trust the computer's shuffle patterns and "randomness" so my bet is it will happen again. That being said, when that happens where you dont have a setup gy and hermit druid is no longer a viable option, you want to try to get your other mill cards like a mesmeric orb and satyr wayfinder. It's an uphill battle for sure but redundant self-mill effects are crucial especially for situations like you experienced. Lastly, milling your entire deck isn't always a bad thing. Its very risky, but if you have a plan it can pay off big. if hermit druid has no more basic land targets and you still use his effect to mill yourself out completely, you want to make sure you have at least 1 of the following.... 1. Platinum angel on the field (if you go to draw and cant you normally lose but angel would prevent that) 2.Life from the loam in your graveyard (the dredge effect is a draw replacement so its instead of drawing you would mill 3 and return loam to your hand. then just recast it to get it back in the yard if you cant win on the spot. and 3.Out of the tombs (this is a necron card from the warhammer set also with a draw replacement. it actually can help mill if its out early enough. the easiest would be hermit druid is out, with a living death in hand and 6 mana up. mill ur whole deck and living death everything.

    Hey nice to hear! i think its great because Karador is such a widespread deck that doesn't need that many "required" cards. Its canvas to build is very large and everyone can have very different decks that still thrive. Its partly why its my favorite deck because it can constantly change but keep the core essence of the deck. Ive had 10+ versions just to try out new creatures and strategies so the deck doesnt get stale. anyway just to comment on some of the cards you mentioned, I like bramble sovereign alot and think it could be an awesome value adder by doubling creatures. Cloud stone curio to help cheat out creatures too. I use to run crypt of agadeem myself but i ended up taking it out because as my deck evolved i had less black creatures so the crypt wasnt as good. Fiend artisan is amazing and i had it in the deck for a while. i always got hermit druid from it to get things rolling. I took it out because it was a better fit in my meren deck and i try not to have decks with duplicate strategies. Lastly, in case you wernet aware, recurring nightmare is banned in commander format, but you may be playing with friends who allow it. Im just letting you know in case you didnt. with Wiards pumping out commanders so often now, cards like Karador are too "old" to be looked at seriously. I think hes a sleeper and a very good and versatile deck. its funny that muldrotha is in the top 10 most popular decks but karador is better imo.

  • @commanderinsight
    @commanderinsight Жыл бұрын

    Hey great question! I guess it would depend on your opponents decks. Regardless of what you chose it’ll make Karador cost 3 less which is great. Therefore you Probly want cheaper mana creatures so you can bring out Karador then cast them. Since the deck really accelerates from hermit druid I would pick him for sure. Then depending on the board state I would change up the last 2. If you can reliably get out Karador in the next turn or 2 and need to stall I would pick kami of the false hope (white spore frog). Granted it’ll only stop one opponent from attacking you but usually, you only have one that is ahead with an army. If the rest of the board is building and slower then I would pick the priest of fel rites and a big smasher like avacyn or sun Titan or elesh norn. If you unearth the priest you can use it the turn it comes out to bring out the other big creature. That’s Probly the two options I can think of for a turn 3 buried alive without reanimation. Once hermit druid is out everything else is easy lol

  • @commanderinsight
    @commanderinsight Жыл бұрын

    Hey thanks for the suggestion. Here’s my take on the card as well. My build hasn’t changed much from this video, a few cards for sure but it remains very similar. A few more auras that allow me to swing in with sythis and do 21+ commander damage in one swing lol. I love aura shards and the effect. I run it in my Karador deck which is my best deck imo. So deadly especially when a sun Titan can bring it out from the gy The reason I don’t run it in sythis is because of a low creature count. She is an enchantment deck with a small creature count and will struggle to get creatures out to consistently trigger aura shards. At least my build doesn’t run enough creatures to justify it being consistent enough. The two builds I can see it working very well in is if you have a lot of enchantment creatures and/or a lot of creature token generation. I have a few of both but again it’s not consistent enough. Aura shards would hit and It would just sit there a few turns til I drew a creature or a token generator.

So many good cards and combos you can alternate in and out to keep the deck fresh and new while still keeping the main core strategy. Also to answer your Vito and resolute archangel question. It does work and the reason being because in order to change life total you have to gain or lose life. If I was higher then 40 life and played resolute angel I would lose life (why would you beer do that lol) but nonetheless even though the card doesn’t say you’re gaining life, it still is life gained amd vito will trigger. @@mofomiko yeah I ran the boomweaver combo too but it became stale when I kept doing the same thing and going for the same few cards. My deck is very strongly built around using hermit druid but there’s 2-3 back up plans because hermit druid gets targeted hard when he hits. With 19 basics I don’t think he’s worth it honestly. He won’t give you very much value and he most likely won’t survive more than 1 or 2 turns. I’d either bite the bullet and get some two color lands (even the tapped lands and bounce lands are very cheap just slower) or don’t use that aspect of my build. That means when they have their infinite combo and go off on their turn it doesn’t matter until they take care of platinum angel. By herself, she’s Probly not going to last super long but people don’t always have removal. I also run cards like avacyn and archetype of endurance which further protects her. Heavy creature utility recursion, Panharmonicon+Luminous Broodmoth or Mikaeus gives 4 ETB triggers per cast, on like a ravenous chupacabra. Moth is cool to make ground creatures flyers, to block opponents flying, then they die and we get even more ETB. Pan+Moth+God eternal rhonas is disgusting. Rhonas says MAY so you can let him die and trigger moth+pan giving 4 double triggers making 1/1 to 16/16. I also run a couple cards */* = to number in GY. Have brawn in GY for trample and a Pathbreaker Ibex to get an overwhelming stampede everytime you cast him from GY or getting Multiple synergy triggers.

    @@commanderinsight Prosper is a total value engine. Some things get exiled forever but that's fine. The whole point is getting the impulse to get through your deck, continuously getting the card advantage and ramp from the treasure. Mine isn't a cEDH deck but can for sure do it. Though there are tons of synergies. As you exile through your deck, there's cards to deal damage as you cast from exile, make treasures, dealing damage from gaining the treasures, dealing damage sacrificing them to cast more spells from exile. Or unloading the treasure for a KO with like Marionette master. I had Xorn, Inspiring Statuary, and Academy Manufactor out and it was just nuts, I was making 2 treasure, 2 food, 2 clues off of each exile cast, which then I can tap them to cast more things from exile to exile more cards making 6 artifacts. On top of that cascading giving even more. My opponents were sweating. The extra treasures help to pay for commander tax, having nim death mantle is nice, even tapped out can sac 4 treasures to save Prosper. With a few other staples to protect him.
