  Cuba is the part of the Americas where the spanish spoken is the most similar to the accent and vernacular of Spain. That's because it was the last Spanish colony, breaking away in 1898 from the old spanish empire. Most other hispanamerican nations like mexico, colombia and Argentina have a very different accent from spain.

  Property in Switzerland is so expensive you have to inherit it or rent. If you rent, you cannot give notice to leave! If you want to move you have to find someone to assign the lease to! If you want to move quickly you end up paying rent x 2. And if you get into debt you go to gaol. Yes really. Civil debt is a criminal offence. At least the hell-hole has referendums. We in Britain could do with many more of them. Yes, they are expensive but the best things in life inevitably are.

  This really was an amazing time for Japanese cars. There's a reason so many young men in America (or maybe all over the world?) drove or wanted to drive kitted out Hondas and Acuras. I had a Civic Si coupe and later a CRX Si. Both were so much fun to drive.
