    I have the exact same rifle in 6.5CM. I also placed the barreled action in a MDT Oryx chassis. Shooting Hornady ELD Match 140 and 147gr I get touching sub-MOA groups @100yds. With Hornady Black 140gr BTHP I'm getting about .5 MOA at same. This rifle in 6.5CM doesn't shoot any bullet less that 140 g particularly well,not terrible but not great,so less than 140gr are a waste of money IMO. My glass is Vortex Diamondback Tactical with Warne Maxima rings. 6x24x50 and I have the accutrigger set at 2lbs. GREAT rifle for the money that with the right ammo,will hold its own accuracy wise easily, with rifles costing twice as much.

    Cool comparison it's neat seeing the comparisons of similar parts within the industry - one minor correction is the finish on both Muzzle Brake is a Nitride finish (Nitriding, Nitrocarburizing) and not Nitrate. Just a small correction but means completely different things haha.

    This gun is supposed to have a cheap stock. You’re basically paying for the barrel and action. This is the rifle you buy and throw a custom stock on it. The sps tactical has been that way since the early 2000’s

    They have updated bolt handles on the more expensive models. They won’t change the classic bolt handle on most of them because it’s iconic to the Remington 700. When you look at the rifle you know what it is.

    OK... dude You need to learn length of pull and cheek rise; this is why your scope is in the way of cycling the bolt action. Your Monkey arms are long -- like mine. This is why that stock is no good for you. Get a good stock with said mentioned... then shoot and come tell me how much better you feel shooting and the better groups you will fire. My goodness; you have a bipod on a very flexible stock, and still the rifle fired a decent group................ tighten it up and you will be amazed.

  • @UltimateArms
    @UltimateArms8 күн бұрын

    lol. i need to learn length of pull? i buy or get a rifle to shoot it and see how it groups. i've got a custom with all the bells on it. i shoot with a bipod and not a vise because i shoot alot of bench shooting. this rifle shoot good groups even though the stock touches. nothing wrong with this rifle myself i dont like a 90 degree throw. some do some dont.

    @@UltimateArms I own the SPS 20", I can hit targets over 1k, but I have been shooting that distance for a very long time. This system is very accurate, but also needs the attention necessary to gain it on long distance. If you put it in a better stock, you will achieve 1 moa or less with out much effort; also need a good round --sierra mkbth with 44.3grains Varget, in a good case. Tell me what ya think then.

  • @UltimateArms

    @@scottmayberry3906 that might be so. but i'm looking at factory rounds to do the test with yes this rifle can shoot. but i'm looking at factory out of the box without putting more money into it.

  • @scottmayberry3906
    @scottmayberry39068 күн бұрын

    Sorry; I do not see much and this video shows how good the REM SPS is....... I know I have one. Take that factory stock and use it as kenneling, it's just not good. Then you have the best system and can build on it. Anything under 1K is easy, and with effort much further. I love it and 20" can hit anything you will ever need to hit you can see, add the Primary Arms w/ACSS reticle --- 1000 is as easy as a baby drinking milk. Salute

    Untrue about low cost ammo. I have this rifle in 6.5 cm and it is sub moa for three shots, and like him, 4th or fifth shot is about an inch out. I also attributed it to barrel heat up. Maybe with a better stock the heat won't affect it. I use only Winchester Deer Season ammo

  • @UltimateArms
    @UltimateArms10 күн бұрын

    putting a better stock on this rifle or any rifle with a thinner barrel will not stop the barrel from heating up and throwing the 4th or 5ft shot.

  • @judgedayan9934
    @judgedayan993410 күн бұрын

    @@UltimateArms Of course a better stock has no influence on the barrel heating up, but possibly the flimsy stock allows the heated-up barrel to contact the stock that when cold is completely floated.

    I bought the 334 in 243. with the composite stock. The barrel is free floated, the trigger is creepy and set at about 4 and a half pounds, but it is adjustable with a little work. The bolt with a little lube and a 100 rounds latter it is very smooth, just needs a break in. Mag works well and feeds every time. Shoots 1 inch or better with the wright ammo and I do my part. Canadian price was $535. when I bought mine. For the money you cant go wrong.
