Today We asked ourselves Who is the better Budget Optic??? The Discovery ED PRS GenII or the Arken EP5??
That is the question that needed to be answered. so we went to find out. Now arken has been the king of the block for awhile now in the Budget Scope Department, with the arken ep5, but Discovery came out with the PRS GEN II, and i think it might have changed!!
both hav 5-25 magnification, both have a 34mm tube, and a 56 mm objective. But what is the difference from there?? That is what we are going to find out!!!

The Discoveryopt 5-25x56 First Focal Plane (MRAD) riflescope is designed with a competent 5-25x magnification for long distances and competitions. It is built into a 34mm tube, allowing enormous turret lift (36 MRAD maximum height adjustment).
The Japanese ED glass and full system lens with high light transmission ensure that these scopes have excellent optical performance. It offers you high brightness and ultimate clarity even in low-light conditions such as dusk and dawn.
The Zero Stop System offers an easy-to-set, quick, and reliable return to zero. We ensure that all ED class scopes have a tracking error of 1% or less. The side parallax adjustment allows quick and easy adjustments from 25 yards to infinity.
The one-piece aircraft aluminum tube provides stability and excellent shock absorption. The scope is nitrogen-purged and sealed with an O-ring, making it water and fog-resistant in all conditions.
Included are a lens cleaning cloth, an additional cleaning pen and a triangular spirit level calibrator to help you better maintain, maintain, and calibrate your rifle scopes.

Yah I’m a Arken guy.. love there turrets, the look, and all around quality for the price. Im glad we have such good options for a reasonable price.

I don’t like how the Discovery is shorter on the back side. With some Chassis rifles it doesn’t sit back far enough for proper eye relief. Even though it’s longer than the Arken. It’s shorter on the back side. I own both. And they are great for the money. Arken has better resale value. And definitely a better reputation when it comes to honoring their warranty.

Well hate to tell you buy the arken ep5, and the Discovery ed prs, are both 3.5 inches from the center of the turrets to the start of the magnification. What's different is that the Discovery is longer on the front of the scope unlike the arken. Thanks for the comment
arken is a good scope but the turrets can be a problem
How much price both ?
One more thing... Both are made in China. Chinese glass has come a long, long, long way in the past few years but that's still a dealbreaker for a lot of people. One thing I did like a lot about the discovery is the serialized qc checklist that came with mine

@@UltimateArms There's still that stigma that Chinese glass is a lower quality.... Ironically enough, that Arken has Japanese glass in it.

@@UltimateArms I think the glass is better on the Discovery too. Granted, I don't have the EP-5, but I have the SH-4J (which also has Japanese glass) so it's not exactly an apples to apples comparison. Is the glass on the Discovery as good as what's in my Titan or Leupold Mk5? No. And it shouldn't be. Both those are way more expensive. The Discovery is a damn good scope for the money.
can i ask what the measurement from the eyepiece to the start of the turret? i will be mounting mine in a one piece and i like it set pretty far back for prs
Question, When you shoot 100 yards to measure accuracy what zoom do you use on a 5-25 scope?

@@UltimateArms was able to shoot my 1st sub 1 MOA today at 100yards. Thanks for all the tips :) Ended up using x22 magnification for final shots lol

Definitely ARKEN OPTICS ALL THE WAY. DISCOVERY OPTICS WARRANTY IS A NIGHTMARE!!! REALLY REALLY BAD EXPERIENCE ON THIS. WARRANTY CLAIM IS LIKE A JOKE TO THEM. ARKEN ALL THE WAY.

Arken's warranty is not great, i wasn't able to get mine sh4 replaced or refunded it has a parallax issue. their CS is dodgy and not straight away.

@linkchen8245 I haven't had any issue with. Im just sharing for awareness. Regardless of how bad it is, it think it won't compare to the horrors of Discovery Optics!!! They even told me I might be a scammer, haha 😄 The first reply that I got thru email was after 2 weeks, then I tried their facebook page took them much more. In the end they will tell you to buy new one from their product because the model that you bought is no longer in production. Duh!!! Hahahha That's LIFETIME WARRANTY FOR YOU. ANYWAY, IM JUST WAITING FOR OTHERS AND THE CASE TO BUILD UP. HOPEFULLY THEY GET A LAWSUIT!!! THAT LIFETIME WARRANTY IS BOUND TO FAIL. HOPE THE ENDORSER DON'T GET TANGLE IN THE SUIT COZ THEY ARE THE SUPPLIER ANYWAY. THEY BETTER THINK HARD AND WISE FAST!!!
