    What are the tools and material needed to build and painting this?

  • @StaticModel
    @StaticModelКүн бұрын

    @@rrumsterr4862 It greatly depends on your expectations, budget and prior experience. For tools - basic is enough: hobby knife, sprue cutters, some paint brushes. As for paint, it depends what painting method you choose, but I assume beginner will start with few cans of Tamiya TS spray and some Vallejo colors for interior painting with a brush. So around 4 to 9 different colors. And also you will need special glue for plastic models, because supper glue and similar is not recommended.

    The common old models run by 12v, if you have a LiPo or any other battery around you can turn it cordless yet without the compressor in your hand.

    Although removing the needle out the front is the BEST way, it would be "better" to re-insert the CLEAN needle from the rear as it would be a more gentle/tapered insertion in/past the needle seal. Re- inserting the needle from the front would have the flat/blunt end passing through the seal which is not optimal and the flat end would not be kind to the seal-like a doctor giving you an injection with a FLAT needle tip; painful to skin and "painful" to the seal 🙂. SO, out the front-in from the rear....

    I got one of these E91s with a secondhand setup of the compressor with a G22 and G25 which I use pretty often, but never got around to using this one. I have a large 3D print I need to prime and paint and figured the larger volume of the syphon feed jar would come in handy. I wish you'd have tried the airbrush with a compressor for a comparison.

    Hi, it was more than 8 years ago, so I don't really remember. But i remember using google and finding instruction with Tamiya's FW190 and their own color recommendations. Some metallic's, black & white were from "Italeri", cause they used to brush paint quite good, but other colors were Tamiya XF series.

    Hello I just bought this but now they sell it as "oxygen atomizer for beauty" or something like that, I wanted to paint some scratches on my car with it 😅 but I pour some acrylic paint and it was too thick for it, do you think I could mix it with some "solvent" to dilute it? I painted the scratches with a brush but it looks ugly 😅

  • @StaticModel
    @StaticModel2 ай бұрын

    If you are talking about real car than this is definitely not the way to go. Especially if scratches are deep you won't be able to do a propper touch up job. Because scratch repair requires filling in the scratches and not just painting over. Also brush painting might not be the best way. I'd opt for a special tool which creates paint droplets or a touchup marker - with these tools you are "pooling up" the pain in to scratch and not painting over. Might be something you'd like to look in:) If you still decide to use airbrush you can add thinners to the paint but it must be suitable for the paint type you are using and also multiple layers will be required.

  • @StaticModel

    Not long at all, about 1 hour in a very relaxed manner. I think best tip is to not touch model or decals with a bare hands, better to use latex gloves or latex finger tips. Cause oily residues we leave with our bare hands greatly decrease chance of decals sticking properly:)

    The first honest review of these cheap airbrushes. You need to thin the paint too much, since they don’t atomize that good. However, attaching an Iwata to that cordless compressor would change everything. That’s what I want to do.

    For quick color swap you don't need to perform deep clean. Flushing with thinner will be enough. But if you tend to use metallic paint/primer/clear coat - multiple airbrushes will make things much easier.
