The problem with recasting Dale is not the voice but the fact that Johnny Hardwick wrote material for Dale too. People forget he was also a writer for the show

Future self episode showed that he's capable of being a good, decent person even when, presumably, still in South Park/around Stan and Kyle, but he chooses to continue to be a shithead. The idea that it's only the town/the boys who ruin him and the fact that it's more or less "confirmed" by his wife only tells me that his change was, at the very least partially, something like self-delusion. And how his wife said something along the likes of "oh, it's him" when introduced to Kyle tells me Cartman probably put most of the blame for their childhood hatred on Kyle. He was still Cartman underneath all the wholesome Judaism. If you need some sort of incentive like avoiding punishment or being rewarded just to be a good person, you are not a good person.

I’m honestly glad they were glib and didn’t get into Ozempic too deeply. The side effects aren’t really something you can joke about. They’re pretty awful. I was on Ozempic for its intended purpose for about a year and I do NOT recommend it as a weight loss tool. I don’t even really recommend it as a diabetes medication. It works by chemically delaying the digestion of your food. It does that a little too well. A horrific side effect of this is that if you eat anything too difficult to digest, like meat, dairy or most things with fiber, the food can rot in your stomach. The result is basically bulimia. You eat something “bad” like a piece of buttered wheat toast, a caesar salad, or broccoli casserole and about an hour later you’re purging it. It can slow digestion to the point where your stomach can get paralyzed and you can’t digest anything solid at all. I had that happen and was living off broth and Gatorade for about three months. Obviously a fiasco if you’re diabetic but not ideal for normal people either. I have permanent damage to my digestive system now. There are other drugs in the same category that work similarly that are safer luckily. I just don’t see how you could make a joke about what it does to your body work in a show like South Park. I don’t see a way to write in chemically induced eating disorders into an episode without it crossing the line into harmful territory.

The one thing I think this episode was missing was a scene right at the end where Scott Malkinson is in critical condition in hospital. The while episode is so focused on fat people suffering from the shortages, but in the end it's diabetics who suffer the most from rich people buying up all their medication to lose a few pounds.

I feel like, because Matt and Trey are kinda center-left, they'd much rather be dunking on leftists for being "too far left" -- being absurdly liberal, overly-sensitive, and blinded by "the principal of the thing" -- but the last eight years, they've had to be part of the pushback against the alt-right -- climate denile, covid superspreaders, monopolies, big pharma, etc. -- so I think they'd be happy to get back to bagging on democrats, lol.

Part of me is convince Lizzo is upset with South Park given how she already got herself in deep sh!t when it came to her being famous, to the irony of her calling herself an inspiration for body positivity when most large woman who use that, slowly tend to die of a natural heart failure. Also missopportunity how you didn't mention the questionable yet disgusting food sugar bowl that Cartman was consuming throughout the entire episode special. He would name these as a food bomb to the point of calling the next one after the bomb that not too long ago got released in theatres and then making another bomb-related name as a form saying he wants to end it all after not getting his drugs to make him slightly lose his weight.

They should go back to oh my God he killed Kenny every episode. Except updated with the times and of course over the top with everything. They could build a season plot with it. Maybe revisit coon and friends with Mysterion and go into Kenny's super power in detail. I mean, they should, shouldn't they? If they can kill off characters like Pip forever, then I think we deserve some answers of why Kenny is here 87 times after getting whacked......and that's what really grinds my gears....

  • @KairiKunai

Hey!! I want to say I really love this breakdown of Kenny, and I know this video is a year old, but I'd love to hear your opinion on the crackpot theory that Kenny is a reincarnation of the "King in Yellow" aka Hastur. (Hear me out.) The question mark on his head, while not exact, is fairly similar to the Hastur symbol that people paint around places as it also contained a question mark shaped symbol. He's blonde to allude to the "yellow" part, but is also consistently shown to be hooded as many people depict Hastur himself. :) Hastur is Cthulhu's half brother, and has a very turbulent rivalry and hatred for him. It seems a bit parallel to his episodes with the Coon and Cthulhu, as he seems more than dedicated to trying to take the duo down himself. There's a lot of little things that I feel kind of allude to where exactly he's gotten his curse, and I think that one specifically is a really solid idea. Matt and Trey seem to know their eldritch lore, as they even include that random boss fight of Shub Niggurath in Fractured But Whole. (I wish Kenny had specific dialogue for it if you brought him in, but he sadly doesn't.) While it's obviously a racism joke, they had to have gone digging through eldritch lore to find that ridiculous punchline haha.

You were too mean to cartman! OF COURSE when he thinks about not being scrutinized for his weight, he's gonna fantasize about being terrible to the people who call him fat. It's cartman! Even IF he has a messed up version of celebrating his relief from scrutiny, that doesn't make his plight any less valid! This is a seriously heartwarming Kyle and cartman story. Kyle, despite everything Cartman's done, is still willing to help him out, and Cartman is seriously appreciative! You can tell he meant it when he thanked Kyle! Kyle's not the friend Eric deserves, but he's the friend he needs.

What cracks me up is all the evil, scams, corporate and government lies could be easily circumvented if the average person just questioned the system, used a little bit of critical thinking skills, and worked against the system by learning the truth about health and obesity. I wrote a book about it, but the average person is just too stupid to understand the system is lying to them...oh well, the idiots of the world have to pay for there stupidity...thank god I figured out what's going on and completely fixed my health and obesity...

I think a good way to have Garrison go back into politics is to show how bad everything had become sense he left and the people of south park begs him to run again. In a parody of the people who said trump is going to destroy America and the golden age starts now he not in office but now are saying yeah he was way better when he was in charge. The special could be a time laps of the trials with Garrison going wild and coming out on top of everything.

Losing weight is hard, but you defiantly don't need ozempic to do it, take it from me, I was fat and I smoked, all you need is to keep that shit it out of the house, eat REAL FOOD, and go for a run or walk, in the end you'll lose the weight. not fast, and not fun, but give it a year, you will be a new person. IF you stay on track,

The real problem is people that don't need the medication taking it and going up so much faster than they should be. Alternatively they start on way too high of a dose. But this has lead to people needing it not being able to get it because insurance won't cover it. Semaglutide is a cool medicine, its also been approved for CHF. The issue is its being abused ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I'm glad that this episode showed that and made fun of the abuse of it! Also 100% accurate depiction of the American Healthcare system 😂😂
