  2011 GT500 SHIFTER BOOT has a plastic ring where the OEM shifter goes through the boot and it must be removed to accommodate the Flat and Wide Barton shifter arm.

  I never cut any stiches, the boot is leather so I dipped the tip of the boot in Hot Water for a few minutes and had no problem sliding my Barton Pistol Grip in through the boot. Also used the packing wrap Barton shipped it in to protect my old shift knob. I have a 2021 Challenger SRT if interested. I love my new Barton much better than the old Mini Van knob that was there!

  I could not get my bushing on to save my life - it was a solid piece and not cut in one spot like the one in the video, so I cut it and then it went on just as easy as it shows

  I was thinking of using a hurst T handle type shiftier. Was thinking one could cut the top of the lever off that has the flat spots and cut threads on the remaining round part of the shaft, this way you wouldn't be stuck using one type of knob and it would have a shorter throw.

  Thank you SO MUCH for this video. Now I just need to find the adapter. Ordered a Hurst T handle knob from amazon. Had all kinds of fittings with it but none would fit my 2012 camaro. Now I just have to find the Barton adapter and I'm all set.

  The plastic trim ring was by far the hardest most time consuming part of this. Had I known there are two barbs on the ring that hold it onto the knob, it would have been easier. I could see them in the hole, but brain did not engage until after flailing it off. Chewed up four or five harbor freight trim tools prying on that thing, but did not damage the boot. 6oz lighter than stock, I'm curious to see how it feels on the road.

  Just used this as a guide on a 2022. Everything is basically the same except the center console bolts.

  I like this setup much more so than the Speed dawg. I don't like how the boot on that one comes all the way up to the ball. My only gripe with this setup is that there is no jam nut to hold the ball in place or some sort of set screw. To me that would be much better than relying on Loctite.

  Perfect video. 20 minute installation.. thanks so much. Your adapter is great. One suggestion, please include a second zip tie for us old people. The first one got eaten between the seats and I had to tear my toolbox apart to find another. Great product!

  U should’ve rotated the adapter first so that the shift knob wouldn’t need that glue

  I see what you’re saying. Put the knob on the adapter first, and then adjust the pins where they need to be, then remove the knob, do the work, and it’ll line up 👍🏻

  Thanks so much for this video. I bought a 2018 GT that already had a Barton Hybrid 3 installed. I could never shift from 1st to 2nd under hard acceleration. I watched this and readjusted the base and my car shifts perfect now. I was about to take my car in for a warranty repair.

  It's possible it will. But probably only the shifter. It should not void the power train or anything else. Know that if something goes wrong, the dealership has to prove the shifter caused the problem.

  @@streetslickz I've had the shifter on for 3 years without any issues. I did the install myself and I'm close to being handyman. You just need to remember to tell the next person that drives your car to push down on the shifter to release it from gea. Otherwise they won't know what to do and might start yanking on it.
