    Great install video. I did drop the pins on the floor but was able to easily retrieve them with a hockey stick :-) You make installing to locking pins look easy...that part was "challenging" and took me about 20 minutes to line them up, that was the only rough part. Also was not able to get the shift mechanism high enough to get a ratchet in to secure the rear linkage to the shifter. Adjusting the actual position of the shifter takes a little guess work to find out what position is comfortable. Because Torred was not an option at ordering, I bought a Torred touch up from Dodge and painted the flat stick and the knob letters and numbers Torred, looks awesome! Shifter performance is spot on! Changes the driving experience! Also, with the black anodized FS and Knob, why is there a shiny steel locking nut included to lock the knob in place, should have also been black anodized! Thank you,

    I received the Barton shifter for my 2011 Challenger SRT8 and it's outstanding in terms of build quality and shipping. I went direct versus through Summit Racing to better support this business and you have more coloring options. For example, I went with the white ball and blue lettering (of the shift pattern) for $5 as an option. You are not offered that on Summit's website. Summit's great and maybe the would offer that if I called but this was an online purchase. Same price at both places but more options with Barton direct. I have the Inaugral Edition 392 so the white with blue goes with the interior...just a slave to fashion. I will be installing it this weekend and will post my impressions.

    GREAT VIDEO!!! So once i get the shifter, I already see EXACTLY what sockets and extensions I need AND every electrical connection I need to be aware of when removing the console!! The Barton stick is just ridiculous!! Talk about a beefy connection to the shifter mechanism!! simply AWESOME!!

    Just did this on my 2010. Working casually it took about an hour and a half. The one hint I'll give is to start the right front pin, then slide the shifter into place. Insert the left pin and lock it in place, then use a drum brake adjusting tool prying gently against the tunnel and putting pressure on the head of the pin. Now just move the shifter around till the pin lines up with the hole and the pin will slip right in.

    Just bought a 2011 SRT8 Inaugral and am suprised how sloppy the shifting is. It's easy to miss and I cannot speed shift with any confidence. Does this address or better yet solve this problem. If it does - that big!

    2010 Challenger Classic, every option available. It ain’t that easy. Buy a rubber boot for the tunnel it will save you a lot of hassle as the old one will fall apart. The electrical clips have a little square to push in with a small screwdriver, they don’t just pop off. When installing the shifter legs the holes have to be aligned. I used a cheap dental mirror that’s angled and about the size of a quarter. The console also has a sweet spot. A rectangle shaped 2” protrusion that has to slide inside the vent. Hope this helps. If you do, it should drop all the way to the ground. Worst case is it gets caught on the exhaust.

    Just got done installing the BARTON shifter in my 2015 Challenger Scat Pack. It took right around 2 hours and fifteen minutes. There are a number of production changes such rear console mount bolts. 2 instead of 4. Got at from the sides in the back seat. A main electrical harness by the dash that needs to be unhooked to remove the large rubber boot. Leather shift handle boot doesn't have a clip but a rubber o-ring which has to be cut out. Your zip tie was too wide so I used a skinny one to feed through the same loop as the factory o-ring. Might want to change your zip-ties on 2015 models. One last thing.. I couldn't remove the shifter boot without fear of busting it so I pried the whole trim plate up to get at the 2 shifter handle bolts.

    Anoint2 2 hours 15 minutes? That is a very long time to do a job that shouldn't take no more than an hour to do. Were you watching video during installation? From what I was told the 15's aren't that much different to install.

    Needs a supplement for the pistol grip. Not too hard to figure out, two Allen bolts but there is a small set screw that installs from the opposite side to lock the pistol grip handle in place. Watch the orientation of the handle mount it can be put in wrong and then the handle is backwards. Learn from my mistake!

    Just installed the shifter and love it! So far this is the best mod I've done to date!! Curious about the rear bracket install at 5:59. I installed it with the bolts facing the front of the car as you suggested but I see other 3rd party videos (WorkPlayDrive) where they install the bolts facing the rear. Does it make a difference? I have a 2012 R/T

    I am still a Hurst fan boy the brand is just super old school like the challenger itself i also just dont like having spring assisted shifts i didn't get a manual transmission so the car could shift for me and that thing looks a little more on the heavy side then it needs to be but props for making something interesting Barton i do see the appeal but just not for me!

  • @DJGRoc

    Another channel said that this shifter is as much of an improvement over the Hurst as the Hurst is over the OEM shifter. Hurst claims a 33% throw reduction, while Barton claims 44% throw reduction.

  • @DJGRoc

    @DJGRoc

    @@BMan100 That's the point of the short throw shifter though. If you drive hard, & wanna shift fast, this is the way to go. Same if you wanna to drag race with a manual. You wanna be able to bang through them gears as quickly as possible. The stock shifter sucks for that.
