hello, I have ocd and schizophrenia where both these conditions interact with each other. when I have intrusive thoughts, the voices pick up on them and then punish me for getting these thoughts. they call me 'peaodophile ' constantly so I get the thoughts then they punish me for getting these thoughts. it feels like I am getting attacked every single day in my life. I am seeing a mental health team.

OCD can be considered to be a disorder of a need for control based on a scary and uncertain world. Psychedelics can help dampen the area of the brain responsible, the fears and beliefs associated and create a greater relaxation into your environment. I'd say it can be quite helpful.

I offer this observation to ALL PURE OCD sufferers NOT as a general remedy but ONLY as the remedy for me. ALL ssi's/ssri's are poison - period. Traditional 'talk-therapy' won't work bcuz it maintains 'one's mind is the cause solely' and going over n over the past and present mental anguish, will fail. Immersion therapies perhaps may help you face the demon of your brain/mind. But ultimately, this is what worked for me after decades and specifically the last 4 yrs of pure ocd made worse by life stressors that are not vital here. After yrs of listening to some of the best sacred spiritual oratory on youtube by men I've often studied, recently one of these 'voices' said something that broke through my ego late at night where I keep the iphone on to listen intermittingly during the night. It's the NOTION n' BELIEF that who is the real Self and who's watching the watcher? I suggest you all investigate that premise. Also, small doses of Cubensis mushroom (psylocibin, I grow my own for yrs as medicine) combined with small amounts of daily CBD w/ 2% THC and within a week's time of this combo and self-realization and/or 'epiphany,' the violent and disgusting thoughts waned. No volume and no constancy anymore. Gone are the ugly thoughts by 90%. I offer this FINAL observation about myself (brain/mind) again as what worked for ME ALONE. Once I made the connection the thoughts were symbolic representations/'Myth images' of other elements of myself unrelated to the actual PURE-O thoughts, the terror left! In essence, my thoughts weren't literal attacks of wishing harm to ppl or myself but 'meant regret for past decisions that altered my life for the worst.' The meaning of my thoughts was/is - REGRET - Jungian symbols/sub-conscious symbols defining something else. (NOTE: read ALL Joseph Campbell - pure genius of mythology I've read since 1986) Again, once that connection was made in the middle of the night and combined w/ my natural med remedy, the CHANGES WERE POTENT. I would NEVER suggest the 'mythic symbols' approach to the literal fear and anxiety of evil/violent thoughts is YOUR solution. But check it out. Ask yourself: my thoughts, taken NOT as literal evil/harm BUT REPRESENATIVE of OTHER emotions n life elements unrelated to the actual harm OCD. Think of what I am saying as allegories/metaphors, for example: the book 'One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest' wasn't a novel about insane asylums or mental illness but a story about ABUSE OF POWER and the degradation of man. Alan Watt's infamous oratory about 'eating the menu' vs, 'real food.' Your harm ocd thoughts are the MENU NOT the actual meal. STOP EATING THE MENU. I wish you ALL relief and do know the Self doesn't exist and our brain matter, DURA MADER, (Gm. for 'Our Mother') wants to destroy us. That's a fact and neuroscience has ZERO reason or cause for this reality. Be well, press on and find Peace. A'ho (Amen)

It's interesting to notice that people who believe their thoughts could kill others doubt everything else except that particular belief. If you tell them that it doesn’t make sense, there is no scientific proof, etc., they doubt that what you’re telling them is true, but they won’t question the supernatural power of their thoughts. This goes to show that their doubts are very selective and most likely fueled by fear. Everyone believes very easily whatever he or she fears or desires.

@@ryanpowell8285 You're welcome. Personally, I got better when I realized that people with OCD are disturbed by what is not supposed to disturb them, and are not disturbed but what is supposed to disturb them. They worry about insignificant matters and don’t seem to be bothered (while in the throes of OCD) by the fact that they invest time and efforts in obsessional searching or ordering at the expense of everything else in their lives. It’s a matter of reversing the pattern despite the difficulties. There is a time to doubt and a time to believe. A time to doubt that their obsessional quest will succeed before their lives fall apart and a time to believe that getting used to a reasonable degree of uncertainty will help them live the life they really want to live.

Rose would like to know why she’s still “bodily wired” to OCD triggers although she intellectually understands there is no valid content to her intrusive thoughts (20:50-21:36). She thinks that if she only knew how to “rewire her body”, her problem would be solved. This is why she asks the question to Professor Veale: “This is a question for you, David”. The problem is that if consulted experts don’t know the answer, she’ll probably believe she’s stuck with her condition for the rest of her life, which is not a pleasant prospect. Experts do have a role to play. However, it may be best "not to bet too heavily on a horse", just in case. This is particularly difficult for people with OCD who are naturally tempted to incorporate their recovery into their OCD. Rose may make what’s called an “attribution error”. She thinks that her anxiety is due to the fact that her body is wired a certain way and that she doesn’t know “how to rewire it with CBT and ERP alone”. She could be wrong. Maybe her intrusive thoughts (which could pop up in anybody’s mind) make her abnormally anxious because they prevent her from having a normal life. If that’s the case, it’s a matter of focusing on normal activities and trusting that, with the passage of time and basic good judgement, her body will respond in an appropriate manner (see Acceptance and Commitment Therapy or ACT). The fundamental question is to determine whether I can’t live a normal life because I’m excessively anxious or I’m excessively anxious because I can’t live a normal life.

That man is in such a nightmarish place, still having those thoughts and feelings despite being a father after years, I wish they gave him some insight as to how to come out of the OCD and whatnot. Nobody should have to suffer that much, in silence especially.

damn it really is misplaced intelligence. imagine ruin your life by re thinking, overthinking, analyzing, re thinking again the same thoughts for years and years. you really go down the rabbit hole which only makes it worse & worse bc a small part of you wants to seek the proof that you really are this sick fck you think you are. maybe this comes from horror childhood when your parents made you believe that you are this horrible little human. you literally carry it onto your adult life when you still look for this proof that you are a sick human, to basically confirm to yourself (& your parents subconsciously) that you are oh so horrible. BUT YOU ARE NOT!!! YOU NEVER WERE!! you are awesome & perfect just the way you are, love you ❤️having ugly thoughts is not a fault, it's not a fault you have to seek confirmation & punishment for. it's just a thought, we all have them. it's just a cloud passing by.

I believe it was very unnecessary to use being gay in the context it seems as if it comes off as being bad or expressing who you’re as for sexuality the information can be helpful however that in the context wasn’t worded right nor needed.

The first time I learned that these thoughts other people experience them and that in fact is OCD I felt a relief so strange that I cried hard. Every now and then I go back in the internet to “remind” myself that it is an actual condition and its not ME (in a sense). Cause I forget and sometimes the thoughts make me doubt so much that it triggers me to keep digging into this mental hole or ‘rut’. Also use it to learn a little more each time calming my anxiety and cloud of thoughts.

Society is at fault believe me I am a victim of it. One I never had ocd before till after so many years and life incidents that made me that way. But through out the years believe me or not society played it’s part. One I know I am not the only one who was accused out of the blue by people of staring at their privates being placed in a scary and embarrassing moment. Also had people who went out their way to embarrass me sexually with porn by attacking my size and my sexuality.

Unlike child porn, acting on pedophile thoughts, murdering/hurtig someone etc., being gay (or the fear of being gay) should really not be put in the same context when talking about something so horrible or disgusting. I have no idea why this was neccessary. Aside from that I found this video really helpful.
