Kapper Outdoors 2.0 Excavation & Land Management
Kapper Outdoors 2.0 Excavation & Land Management
About 6 years ago after hiring a lot of excavator work on our property I got to thinking that if I learned how to use my own mini excavator I could save thousands of dollars over the years, and maybe even have the thing start paying for itself once I become proficient. Join me on the adventures of the average Joe (former Marine, served in the Gulf war and retired law enforcement) who wanted to learn to use a mini excavator and other equipment for land management projects, property management, fixing roads, clearing trees, small ponds and watering holes, creating new food plots, land clearing, installing culvert pipes and much more. Now after around 1,000 total hours on mini excavators things are starting to expand for us. I hope that you'll join me to see just how useful a mini excavator can be on property and all of the things that you can accomplish with them. Thank you.

Hey Mrs K is there any task you can't handle 🤔 changing these door locks well impressed 👌 Perhaps you could have a look at Mr Ks tractor am sure it just needs your expertise 🤔😁👍
lol I wish she knew tractors!!
There is so much in this one! Mernards looks great, we don't have them here. Looks like they make door locks out of gold now, Yikes they were expensive! I used to cut keys 45+ years ago, old school way. Hubs did re-keying back then, that looks basically them same. I can see some of that copper in a future Sharon project. Nice video!
lol thanks for the kind review! I've been working on getting Mrs Sharon to do more every day kind of vlogs because she does do a lot of interesting stuff! Especially for a woman! Thank you have a great evening!
Great job Sharon! A lot of progress!
Very nice area of the property to explore.
Sometimes having too much stuff is a curse. You know that you have an item, SOMEWHERE, but can't find it!
lol that is just 100 percent!! I have actually 're bought' items that I knew that I have but could not find it!!
Sharon your videos are awesome. That key making machine was cool. I bet you had all that done before Joe was out of bed! I can see him now, honey what’s for breakfast. You should have took a bucket of ice water and covered him good or the hose. ❤❤😂😂. Love your videos. I wish you splurge and buy stuff like Joe does just once. He is like a kid in candy store. And he Says you loose your attention, look back to video of him shopping when you moved to Illinois. Did Kapper replant the flowers in the fancy carport he mowed over.?
lmao come on Brett!! Don't give her any bad ideas!! Yes I am guilty as charged!! And she is a saint!! But we are a team!! Thanks man and stay tuned lots happening right now!!
Hopefully Kapper had his sunscreen on.
lol I usually do!!
Lol, "gifted" toxic waste that's illegal to dispose of without letting it dry out and harden into a clump? How generous!
yep! Unfortunately we are used to it!!
just take them off the illinois house and flip flop with missouri farm
not a bad thought! But I like the look of the new locks!! Very sweet! And functional! She is a saint!
Entry doors with hinges outside. Never seen that before. But, locks are to keep out the honest people, not criminals. Looking good.
Well locks are just a 'deterrent!' If someone wants in bad enough they will find a way! But that's where the alarm comes in, a backup plan! Oh yeah then then being armed may help too :)
Why is the deadbolt below the knob?
Who knows that was how it was done 20 years ago! ?
Green, Grays and Tans are timeless for siding
Oh I am looking forwards to her reshaping this beautiful (yet needing alot of tlc) home! Amazing what she can do with paint and low budget items on an fixer upper!! Thanks
Do you know if those rusty hinges are safety hinges? I heard safety hinges don't have removable pins, so no one can pop them out and remove the door.
Very good question!! I'll have to look closer next time but I would not put it past them they really put a lot of forward thinking into this beautiful home! Thanks
That copper was put on to keep mice and rat's out. Growing up I use to see that on new houses
Well she also found that it was used for termites too. Hard to say but either way it is very unique!
It was very very blurry, but was there a FULL MOON rising over the front lawn? That had to be a heck of a sight!!!!
lol life is short buddy! I love taking in sunshine so I do it whenever I can!! Hope all is well at Clarksville!
All the paint cans are garbage now take them to a place that recycles them your not supposed to throw them away in the regular garbage.
Yep just more trash for us to contend with!!
Exciting times. Looks like great progress continues 🎉
Thank you! It is a big challenge for sure but so glad we have a good teamwork to tackle them one at a time!!
We didn't change the locks on our house. But the building has a brand new walk in door with a new lock and same key for the deadbolt. What I'm sick of is the mail from all the previous owners. The Sheriff came by the other day and wanted to see the man who lived here before us and I told him that we have lived here for 3 years and he doesn't live here. I told the officer that I got some mail from Dallas County and I sent it back to them. This guy got caught poaching deer and wad in jail when we seen the house.
Yeesh, nice history at your place!! Not!! At least its been a few years now!
Way to go Sharon, taking charge while Joe is laying around. 😎😎
lol I can't complain! She is such a saint, and super hard worker!!! Who can ask for more!? Thank you
Amazing man, respect.
A lot accomplished, good progress!
It has been a blur but lots getting done every trip over there! Thank you
I can almost smell it through my monitor😆
Oh yes! Fresh cut grass smell! They have a candle btw, we got one as a gift. And it is not even close to the real smell!! lol Thanks
Congrats getting out of the area occupied by the People’s Republic of Illinois.
Thank you! But we still have to sell our IL place! It is a long road but hopefully in the coming years it will be worth it!!
I would imagine that the underneath is plugged up with weeds and crap. I cut part of my pasture with my zero turn mower which is a Gravelly. But after that bought a mower for the tractor. Another good mower is the Ventrac which can cut a steep hill. I have a steep hill next to my building and it spooks me so I use a stihl trimmer for that. Mainly because at the bottom there is a wood fence.
Yeah I'd love to have a ventrac for sure but way too expensive! We make due with what we've got at the time! Sounds like you too
Great mower certainly made a good job of that task 💪👍
Yes sir I was pretty impressed with this mission! I'm sure it says in the manual like a max of 6 or 8 inch cut! lol
Nice. A 26 hp mower will cut grass up to 7ft tall. Would you do a review on a diesel mower like the JD 997 with a 72 inch deck.
Well if they want to send me one I sure would! I would think a diesel would have more power than gas but can't be certain!
Great job cleaning up the stove, range hood and tile!
I would have thought the generator would have the exhaust outlet out the top or end, need to pop open a side panel to see where the muffler is. Hopefully it wouldn't be too much trouble to modify it and extend it out the wall.
Yeah I would have thought so too! Ugghh, we'll see what happens down the road for sure! Another cost no doubt!
Toro, strong, like ze bull!
Raging Red ZE turn!!
That sercia lespedeza is taking over! I've been in a never ending battle with that stuff on my farm.
Yep that stuff grows like mad!! But the deer love bedding in it over here, lol
Haha,,know what you’re talking about reference looking in peoples fridges.
lol good pickup!
Atta boy Kap 👀
Nailed it! I was very relieved this thing withstood the 4 and 5 foot stuff!! We have a showing tomorrow so I needed to get it cleaned up!!!
That Toro done a heck of a job.
Yeah no doubt I was impressed! I needed a win on that because we have a house showing tomorrow!! Thanks
Shucks Kapper, next time do like the lawn services do and raise the deflector all the way up so you can throw the clippings 20 feet out to the side. They seem to know what they're doing!!
Well I didn't want to throw it into the pond and I had to blow it out that direction! One swipe at a time lol
Good vid Kap! Hey, Joe the Farmer told me that I'm supposed to tell you how much I like your videos and how great you are, because he said that you like hearing how great you are LOL!
LOL I'll take that!! Yeah I do get brow beat from JTF but's its all good! Thanks brother!
Kapper you’re a born Salesman. What would you charge me to sell so items I have for commission. That Titan Mower does the Job. Chuck’s yard looks like a golf course. Wondered why no rops bar on that mower. Chuck just bought a new one just like it and has the bar. It folds in half.
lol well maybe I just have the Midas touch!!?
Lookin good. Next time raise the rubber grass deflector and it will cut better and through the grass farther helping to prevent the thick wet wind rows.
Good idea! Hindsight is 20/20 but next time I will! But it still worked out well for sure! Thanks
@@KapperOutdoors2.0 I was out doing the same thing today. I have a farm in western KY and live there half the time and phx half the time so have lots of mowing to do every few weeks when I'm back in KY . The Dang grass was 3ft or more high and my fence lines etc. Takes me a few days to get caught up each time
I mowed my mother in laws this morning early. To wet to mow but had to get done. It was about 12 inches high. Rain and heat keep me from doing it as needed. I mow a lot that gets away from me. I been to hot several times. In hospital once for it. Now I can't do the heat, and Arkansas has plenty of it. My mower is a pro series Spartan, so that helps. Be safe, mowing tall grass, hidden holes, or rock can get you.
Well sounds like we are on the same team for gettin' behind on mowing! Glad you make up for lost time! Hope you are feeling better and stay cool as you can in this heat! Take care thanks
For years ran a ZD28 at travel height with always razor sharp blades - worked great. God bless. TFS
Key was my always razor-sharp blades. TFS
Next step up is Ventrac 4520Y with tough cut. Wet or dry, you can laugh at the terrain. You can mow things where only a goat can follow. TFS
And, it was a 72-inch deck! TFS
Roger that. I think the blades are still pretty sharp as it is new. But it handled it like a boss! Thanks
Oh yes I would love a ventrac! But way too expensive!!
That looks awesome!! You did an incredible job!
That machine rocks!! Totally saved the day! Thanks
Sharon looked hilarious in the freezer! Awesome video guys and such hard workers! We work hard to and never get to play hard. We are supposed to be retired. Maybe later😳 Make sure you and Sharon don’t over work yourselves! Your farm you’re moving from is absolutely beautiful! and your new place is our dream with a place to fish and all that gorgeous acreage❤️ Just incredible!
LOL I know the feeling of 'supposed to be retired!' We are enjoying what we do so it is not all 'work,' but we do need to have more fun for sure!! Thank you
Looking good Kapper!!!!
That machine saved the day! Thanks man. Hey have you been riding much lately??
Another great video and super progress. Great chill spot Sharon 😮
Thank you! We are keeping things as positive as we can and even though it's a lot of work we are having fun and making the best of it! Love having folks like yourself join us for the adventures! Thank you!
Don't bitch
Kapper, what's the size of that garage? I'm trying to get an idea for my new building. Thanks.
50x46' I should've waited to the end. My error.
A clean garage is a happy garage!
For sure! Only problem is I have a LOT of 'stuff' to clutter it up with soon!!
I always thought that if you have a really HOT BABE….lower the A/C!!! Hahaha
Did you see what was stacked up on the top shelf of the middle cabinet????
@@kapperoutdoors No, can't say I noticed. Something good???
You'll have to go back and watch it again!!
That is a big big garage. I love it. My daughter would have fun organizing some thing like that. She loves organizing stuff around our house.
I wish she'd come organize it for us! lol Thanks
