Can we change rubber bushes to steel bushes (fabricàte) to get rid of death wobbles
I just bought one! Amazon AU!
I keep my in my vehicle when I'm early for a job or having a break I break out the book love it❤
Thx
Darling!
So amazing to experience this wonder of the world 🌍🥰
Great place. The cost for camping Pula at the lodge?
Yep, loved it! I don't have an answer for you for this time (we booked as a group through Ultimate Uoutes) All I have is we paid €27 for a campsite in 2019 (2pax, 1 vehicle), so that's about bwp400. Hope that helps a bit 🤷?
Always great place to visit..what is the cost( Pula for SADC) for camping?
Hi Elsabe, thanks for the comment. I don't have an answer for you because we paid international rates for a group, so I have no idea on SADC rates. Maybe have a look at 'Drivebots' on Facebook they should be able to help. And don't forget conservation fees, vehicle fees, park fees, visitor fees, bed levies etc🤷♂️😅
Was in campsite 5 last week.
fantastic 😊
Surprisingly it also detects r134a refrigerant.
I had to look that up 😅. Pretty good little thing actually 👍
If you think a river cruise doesn't sound very exciting, then this unique experience watching elephants cross the Chobe River from Sedudu Island to the mainland certainly changed all that for us. Read the blog for more inspiration: asimplyfab.life/chobe-safari-lodge/
How many nights was it up? do you have it out camping in it every night or just a few?
We had it up for one year constant (travelling through Europe - as in the other video), then sporadic use for another year. I understand what UV can do, and the elements - I get all that. My disappointment is paying 10x the price of a Quechua, where the Quechua performs the same (and I have had a Quechua out for a whole year as well)...
td5 all the way!
love it :D
I hope this video has done the Victoria Falls some justice. It is well worth visiting the smoke that thunders, the scale of the falls is really something to be seen! And we can tick off Zambia off our bucket list, having set foot into into the first metre across the bridge (the things you do...) Here's the blog: asimplyfab.life/victoria-falls-zimbabwe/
Ik zwaaide naar die Land Rover! (automatisme)🚙

You guys cheated again, you made me fall in love with defender, hope you had a blast
Cheers 🤘😎 (awesome trip, but if we could have done this with Defender, even better)
Hey! What an amazing trip! Thanks for sharing, I’ve been following all the episodes! So cool! My wife and I are heading to Johannesburg at the end of August. We'll spend 5 days in Kruger National Park and then visit the Maun area. Since we decided on this trip a bit last minute, we're going to Botswana without any park reservations. I was thinking of camping near Maun and doing single-day self-drive safaris in the parks. Do you think that’s possible? Or do you need to make reservations well in advance to get into the parks? If you could shed some light on this, I’d be super grateful!
Thanks for your comment ☺️ Sounds great (although I am biased because - Africa!😎🤘). No reservations is risky. It is always busy in Bots and I am not sure if you will get in to Moremi without a campsite booking in advance (although there are stories out there, of course). If you can get accommodation in Maun, an idea is to get a 'day' game drive into Moremi and use Main as your base. I think this question is better answered (and more opinions) on Facebook: DriveBots. On the logistics side I guess you'll be flying from Kruger to Maun? Once again, sounds like a great trip #jealousnotjealous😃😅👍
Hi guys, thanks for naming all the animals most of them I didn't know, also thanks for showing Botswana, it now has become more than a name. I find it ever so cool to see Victoria drive without her hands on the wheel, she's a brave girl. I doubt you could let a Defender steer itself like that, at least in my exoeriance it does'nt work. Take care and have it good friends. Chris.
We were at Savuti in 2013 and had water in the channel
Ah magic. That must have been amazing!😊👌 Both times we were there it was super dry, and sooo hot🥵😅!
Report their licence plates to the rental company and to the game rangers at the gate
Yes! Total lack of respect from these guys... (I won't say where they came from but it is from Europe, and somewhere to the eastern part)
Most cars have fake synthetic learher nowadays. And personally I do not find it particularly appealing... beauty is something more about the lines, the space, the order, the simplicty... and not so much about having leather, gold and diamonds on it. A 2006 Grand Vitara is an example of a good design. Most leather SUVs today are not, including newer versions of the same Vitara. I hate these ridiculous screens... less is more.
The rear seats suggest to be for the leggless among us, although they will have a hard time finding the doorhandles way up there. 🍹🤢 😉
😅😜
Such a cool experience 🥰 that leopard 🐆🤩 and the baby mongeese 😍😍😍
From a maintenance point of view and in the engine area, the Puma is really the utmost worst..
Agreed. And arugably the Tdi's strong point🤔
No selectable assist levels makes these horrible to use , they just try to make you go 15mph . also the throttle is not legal yet
Got a heart for this but not the price
My sister and I made it through IKEA in twenty minutes. We realized it was not really for us, so we just kept following the arrows from beginning to end. We ended up purchasing a cuter outdoor furniture set at Home Goods.
You showed magnificent restraint! I see self drive foreign tourists going off road and I'll stop them and KAK them out from a dizzy height and then report them. NO, sorry, I dont tolerate assholes spoiling it for others. Love that Marsh road along the Mbabe Depression, awesome sightings. There was water at Savuti Camp in '22.
Those cheetah 🐆🤩🥰🙏🏼🐆
Deze fiets heeft een gashendel. Daarvoor het je een rijbewijs nodig in Nederland.
Yep CE
That's a good demonstration of the water-tightness of the awning, but of course you never want that much water to build up, there. Why do I never see the awning set up at 3/4 or 2/3 or 1/2 height? Seems to me you'd want that option for heavy rain, to keep from creating a lake up there. The only concession to that I've seen in all the photos and videos is running an anchor line from the middle of the far edge of the awning down to the ground, to create a spillway. But the poles at the corners are always at full extension. I would think that a cowboy in foul weather would want his brim pulled low. I wonder if the tight zipper is a result of pulling something too tight, somewhere else on the tent. Like maybe you should zip that door closed before anchoring one or more of the corners... Just a thought. I'm not even sure he had any stakes in the ground when he was showing the tight zipper. But thinking about the mechanics of setup, you kind of can't zip it closed until the tent's stood up and the hinges in the walls are locked in place. It may just be a design flaw that doesn't cause a problem, because they make a good zipper! Just in my experience, whenever I had something like that crop up, it was a user error on my part. But maybe it's just a smidge off in the cutting or stitching of the fabric that got past quality control. LOL! I'll see myself out!
Cheers for the comment(s) Yes, the zipper is only tight right at that spot, so I suspect a stitching error. But it held up fine all year long. The front awning section (with the modular panels) has no option except to set it up with the corner poles at max to get the side panels taut. So there's no real way to get a water runoff🤷♂️ Bit of a shame because the basic overall quality is there
I NEED ONE OF THOSE, HOW DO I ORDER TO GET ONE TO CAPE TOWN SOUTH AFRICA ?
all I can suggest is trying paddockspares from UK 🤷♂️🤔
I just went there today
Wow, just wow. What a fantastic adventure, such a beautiful place. Thank you guys for sharing this one I absolutely loved it. Those boats on the water, how tranquil was that. Keep on going. 😊
En we moemen hem...Frits😂
Ha! 😆 Geniaal 👌😅
Nice bit of kit. Just bought a fridge but if I hadn’t I think I would have invested in one of those
It's a good one 👍😃 (for a change in this man's choices and experience 😜😅😆)
Why do you find it strange that there is a remote Khoisan village there? That is their native land and their way of life woven in with the kalahari ecosystem.
Thank you for your kind and considered words of encouragement. This leads me to believe that you haven't seen the next video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/opyfz8Wrk5aZdMo.html nor have you read the blog (about half way down): asimplyfab.life/driving-the-central-kalahari-game-reserve/ But hey, this is why we travel - to learn and experience something new wherever you go.
My fave campsite ⛺️🤩❤️🔥
Moremi is definitely better than Chobe and the Mbabe Depression is also magical. Those roads can be a pain, easily 5-6 hours with game viewing and more difficult with the mud and puddles, or are those swimming pools ;) Great to follow along to places Ive been - than you!
Cheers for the comment. Loved it! Moremi is so lekker. It's such a great challenge getting to these places (the road to Khwai has even more swimming pools!😅)
Question: Im new to grilling with gass, I have the same grill and noticed the same problem with the gass losing power when just under half full. What do you do with the gass can then? Do you let it burn out and throw it away (takes forrver)? You can't throw an half full can of gass I figure due to risk of fire etc, so what is the options?
This is why we moved to the Cadac 2CookPro and a 13kg gas bottle. I just couldn't handle the waste of the gas canisters (the little 'Camp Bistro' is even worse, with those slim canisters that last fifteen minutes!). And yes, we just let it burn out - although dinner would take forever (as you have experienced as well). But nothing a couple of beers couldn't handle😅🤷♂️😉
Such an incredible experience 🐘🐅🐃🦓🦒🦛🐾🤩💝
Happy aniversary guys.
Hi guys- love this video, thanks for sharing! could you also share a list of all the parts, gaskets, oil seals, etc needed for the job? Your website mentions the tools needed but not the parts. Thanks to your video I am attempting this on my TD5 but I'm worried I'll miss ordering a crucial part and have to leave everything open until that part arrives.
Hi, thanks for the comment. We used the swivel kit from Britpart (I know), something like this: www.paddockspares.com/da3178-swivel-kit-front-axle-from-la930456-to-wa159806.html which includes a new swivel housing, since most are pitted and worn. It has everything you need in there - gaskets and shims, grease etc, except for the lower swivel pin. We reused the existing lower pin, which is normally not worn and fits into the new bearing race - but these are available seperately, and possibly a good thing to order just in case (they don't cost much). We also reused the stub axle seals and bearings, although I would recommend replacing while you're in there. A kit like this is available: www.paddockspares.com/da3191-stub-axle-kit-def-front-from-la.html A new lock washer for the hub might be handy (or reuse the old one), and think about some new bolts for the swivel to axle. Although, as I said, we reused most of the parts, and it was fine for years). Just be sure to get the correct parts (kit) for your model (obvs!). I have a surplus stock of stuff that was wrongly ordered, or not used...😅 If you're trying to cure death wobble, have a look at the panhard rod bushes first (ask me I know... perhaps you do as well, but it don't hurt to share experiences) Hope this helps a bit. If you haven't already, check out part 2 (refitting) for all the parts we used and the other tips like torque settings etc: kzread.info/dash/bejne/a3Z52qylhqW8gKQ.html
@@ASimplyFabLife Thanks for the speedy reply! this is great, thanks for sharing. definitely gives me a lot more piece of mind now that I won't miss anything. Really helpful!
Try Techpro Safaris next time
Cheers for the info🙏😊, thnaks! We went with the Bushlore guys because our group specifically wanted the CruCAM and HilCAM (integrated sleeping area). We just tagged along with this basic Hilux, but wanted to keep things simple by renting all from one company. Also we were departing and returning to Jhb on this trip. I have a couple of other guys for the next one, but will keep these in mind if/when we do a trip from Cape Town or Windhoek🤙😎 Keep rollin,!
