This is the worst ball reaction you've had with a new release in as long as I can remember. Sad, I absolutely loved the Rouge Cell, but probably best for my wallet. I'll get the Ion, and wait for an actual Crux with AI to be released. No way it isn't coming eventually. Plus Storm is already teasing their new Big Tank, the pink blue and white test ball in the Ion videos. Feel bad for the Cell line, such an iconic core and ball from the past, and this really feels like it's going to fall flat.

I actually bowled the PBA event which was conducted on strings. I was extremely skeptical. After having bowled competition on them, I think they are just fine. In fact, they require more accuracy and you can’t get away with most of the off-hits. On TV the pin carry looks worse that it is actually. In general, pretty pleased with the experience. Ok, they do fall in a different way but once you get accustomed to that, I am sure most of the bowlers will be happy with them.

Looks great. It will go unnoticed because of Storms marketing where they announce something else the week this will release. They're burying smaller proshops with inventory that can't be moved and bowlers are missing out on some good stuff because the next thing is cooler. Seems silly to me.

I agree with the sentiment, however it's not switching to string pins or cosmic bowling and open play that upsets me, it's that when they implement those things they all but completely abandon lane maintenance. If they still kept the lanes at a decent to professional condition while saving all that money on string pins and doing more open/cosmic bowling, it would be acceptable.

Good video as always. I heard of the Alpha crux but never seen one. This reminds me more of the reality and the absolute power. There’s nothing wrong with clean, but having said that I heard this was supposed to be a very strong Asymmetrical solid. It looks to the middle to the bottom when it comes to ball reaction. I expected this to be at the proton physix

Why is your release so so late? You end your slide and then release the ball close to a second later (which is crazy and has to cause power and consistency issues) Not trying to be critical Im just curious if its something youve always struggled with or if you even care or want to fix it?

SAME THATS THE FIRST THING THAT COMED TO MIND WITH THE BALLS COLORS. Could it be the next gen Alpha Crux. Unfortunately I had no chance in getting an Alpha Crux because I started to take bowling seriously after they discontinued it. It was my all time favorite ball in terms of colors and reaction (watching it go down the lane)

Like a few of the guys said...its all about the numbers. I work in the Materials/Inventory world, and it dont matter if its bowling balls or whatever, if it ain't selling, its going. I just feel bad for the PSO that end up sitting on this stuff. And any ball could be the greatest to the guy that just matches up great with that ball for his specs. I was one who overpaid for the Fate because of the guy on the side of that ball, but it is a good ball for me, and that did not last long at all. Good post though, i was not aware all of these were going Bye-Bye.

How would the Ion Pro compare head-to-head with the Xponent? The Ion Pro seems to have a little more backend than I would typically expect of a benchmark ball, which isn't necessarily bad and could be good. Based on your 2023 top 10 ball review, I went ahead and picked up both the Xponent and the Sublime (great 1-2 comb). Thanks for all that you do for bowling!

All I throw is Storm, Roto Grip and 900 Global. I do like the look of the Ion but I'm just not sure if it's going to be the benchmark like the Phase II and Hy Road. I'll more than likely get it but I'm not in a rush.

For Storm, this maybe the that next generation of benchmark. But for me, the numbers are too similar to the Motiv gear APG asym. This has Blue Coral vibes for me. It’s not filling a gap in my bag, so it’s a pass for me.
