    Enjoy the summer guy. Opening week here in Australia... no snow. Looks like we are in for a warm winter. 2025 stuff is 20% off. I couldn't resist a bargain.. Brought 3 boards.. From 2024, range for % 60 off. Bataleon whatever War pig . Jones moutain twin. Even picked up a burton step on boot and binding. For the same price as a Nidecker supermatic binding. I've got 28 days booked this year.. Hope it snows.

    Thanks for the very informative video, may I ask about the sizes you bought in mondo and the size of your foot in cm? I read in a lot of forums that Ride boots run half to one full-size larger.

  • @ShredAheadSnowboarding
    @ShredAheadSnowboarding4 ай бұрын

    I have generally bought my boots in my shoe size's some companies were a little small some were a little big it definitely varies a lot, no consistent sizing across the board. Lately in the Ride boots a 12/ 30.0 was a comfortable wear but is a little loose in fit after packing down. So I started to buy a 11.5/ 29.5 for a more performance fit tight at first but just right after break in, hope this helps?

    i used to go to Schweitzer as a teen, there was a lower lot at the village by the bottom of the night area, and in the AM the lifties always let us board down from that lot and take a lift up to the ticket office... just went Thursday to Lookout where I learned, for my first trip up a chair in over 20 years... my son has been twice this year and loves it, now I'm back on the slopes and hope to take my younger 2 for a beginner day before the mountains close... Lookout is awesome and has upgraded a lot since I was there, and is still affordable. We hope to go there a few more times and then possibly next year this time might get the 49 and Silver combined passes, which would also let us go to Lookout a few times, and maybe Mission Ridge I think... i definitely have to make a trip ot 2 to 49 now... good video

    Glad your back at it enjoying winter with your family! It's not been the best season out of the 30 years I've spent here but it gets the job done and your right, here in the NW we are lucky to still have some of the lower prices around! Let's hope they stay that way but parking is becoming a big problem at all of them since so many people are jumping off the west coast for a more stable community! If you out and see us stop and say hello to the two old guys still trying to pretend that we are young, haha!

  • @ShredAheadSnowboarding
    @ShredAheadSnowboarding5 ай бұрын

    I’m currently in Canada the binding are a little troublesome & not a performance piece of equipment when using the step in set up, because it allows to much movement! Extra snow or uneven footing under the board make the release difficult, groomed firm surfaces make it easier both in & out. If someone is less flexible i recommend using a small dole-rod to make the reach about 6” long. The lever currently used could have better leverage by making it point upward more; just my two cents!

    @ShredAheadSnowboarding5 ай бұрын

    Glad it was helpful! I'll be completely honest a little lacking for performance limited high back forward lean and no rotation possible to help the heelside drive! Still I enjoy the ease of putting them on but a little fiddly taking them off! When taking them off it’s best to lift the heel while the foot is in a perfect straight line with the binding with no sideways pulling!

  • @ShredAheadSnowboarding
    @ShredAheadSnowboarding5 ай бұрын

    I like the Supermatic but it can be a little fiddly, however the convinces is great. Still the coming out is a slightly longer process due to the push down lever for release! The highback not folding down on the heelside into the path of the push foot is something that I would consider problematic on the flow or nidecker rear entry systems! So like most binding's pro's & con's seem standard, hope this helps?

    i have tried lasso and ride anchor(softer version of fuse with same mold i believe). i find that ride anchor isn't so true to size compared to other ride models. Its half size bigger, meaning i need to size down. Do you find that to be the case?

  • @ShredAheadSnowboarding
    @ShredAheadSnowboarding6 ай бұрын

    I had the Lasso but didn't like the flex it wasn't stiff enough for me and I don't like the standard tongue liner. I much prefer the taco rap it provides a better fit and hold in the heel pocket. I would like to see them put a power strap on the boots, but size wise no issues other than half size availability for 11-12+!

    Nice review! Keep it up for us veteran riders! ~ RIDE-ON, AMIGO... RIDE-ON ~ 🏂❄ One thing I did this season that I'm absolutely luvin'... I treated myself to the Supermatics... no more bending over before each run / or sittin' on my butt to strap-in each time... just flat-base off the lift... step-in... and bomb-down The White Room ---- for all us older riders w/ a bit of creak to them bones it sure helps a ton! Again, nice review! Cheers, mate!

    Here's my PSA. Be mindful when purchasing low profile boots (such as the Ride Fuses). I bought a pair and had them professionally fit only to find that they still caused insane foot pain 2 seasons after purchasing. I immediately thought it was the bindings and bought new bindings (nope). Thought it was my boards width (nope). Thought maybe I'm just out of shape and started doing foot stretches and exercises (nope). It turns out because they are low profile they don't sit snuggly in the heelcup of most bindings so anytime when you are trying to drive your toe side edge, the boot will slip out of the heelcup and leave you trying to drive the board with the balls of your feet and your toes. This causes severe foot fatigue and pain in that area that is fighting for stability and drive. They are good boots but they need to work with your bindings. What bindings work with these boots? No idea. Maybe something in the Ride lineup but my Stratas, NOW Drives, and Rome Katanas all do not work with these, especially the NOW Drives.

  • @ShredAheadSnowboarding
    @ShredAheadSnowboarding6 ай бұрын

    Sorry to hear about so much foot pain. I've worn a lot of different boots over the last 30 years and one of the most important things i've come up with is changing the foot bed to a good heat molded insole. Not having a high arch foot and a small ankle I like the Fuse especially with the taco warp liner. I also learned though & trail and error to tighten the internal BOA in the shin area prior to lacing up; this pulls my heel back deep in the pocket and I have no movement inside the boot! However it additionally sounds like you are have a boot binding issues, so it is interesting? Maybe you should look at the compatibility by taking whatever boot feels the best to you and ask to fit it into a binding while in the shop? Hope you find and way to get rid of the pain and a ride that works for your shredding! Thanks for your input and insight!

  • @ShredAheadSnowboarding
    @ShredAheadSnowboarding6 ай бұрын

    I think most boards can run a carve line but for me I'm older and a little more laid back and love just cruising with a flatter board at medium speeds. The Dada is a short and medium radius carving ride and for me doesn't have the deep carving line for trenching it is also a shorter radius player I would go more with something like the "Holy Grail" check out Avran review he'll lay out a fit!

I have a friend who has a one bedroom unit condo in Kellogg Idaho and other who rents rooms I believe in Mullan Id very near the mountain. Either way we pass by both each day going to the mountain so we could throw in the car with us! It will work if we get to that point.
