    How much do you want to bet that they will find some way to say they couldn’t get the guitar built… and just end up slapping Hard Rock on the building and calling it a day. They literally could’ve just kept it the Mirage…

    In regards to dealers keeping their own tips, I strongly believe they should! When I was younger, I lived in Las Vegas and I got tired of playing the old machines. I didn't really care for blackjack I just it was a boring game. I really liked craps, but didn't quite know how to play. This was back in mid to late '80s, when Binions was the Horseshoe. I would go there after I got off work at The Flamingo. And I went up to the table and the men the you know the box man Stickman you know there's three of them and then they have the boss there so for different people. And they taught me how to play craps at the they said now the only thing we'd like if you could, is you know throw something out there and say this is for the boys! And they were taking the for the boys the tips and they would put them on the different bets on the table with you know their money whenever I tip them they'd say they'd spread it across, but number one, is that they taught me how to play craps!

    I’ve dealt for 16 years, and I’ve worked in both tip pool joints and “keep your own” joints. I can guarantee that customer service is dramatically better when the dealers keep their own. They can only rely on themselves to make their money and the money is substantially higher. I would never work in a tip pool environment again.

  • @SAsh-zg6ln
    @SAsh-zg6ln23 сағат бұрын

    That’s common sense. I have no idea why casinos started pooling tips. I heard some dealers don’t like it because they’ll fight over who gets to deal at the high roller tables but I said maybe the best of the best dealers get promoted to the high limit tables. You can even review dealers on a quarterly basis so more floor dealers will get the opportunity to deal at high limit.

    @@SAsh-zg6ln some places do have a senior dealer string that gets the better tables but the places I’ve worked everyone just rotates through all the tables with a 30 minute push at each table. It’s just the luck of the draw if you get to a really good table

    @SAsh-zg6ln23 сағат бұрын

    @@kylejohnston2120 ya I know. I was saying they should try it a different way. Pooling and stringing isn’t fair for good dealers and doesn’t weed out garbage dealers.

    Even tho I am pro making your own tips. I would think it would be a logistical nightmare to try and schedule/rotate dealers around tables fairly if they keep there own tips. Like some games make less tips, baccarat for ex vs blackjack and low limit vs high limit tables and even table location where low traffic tables will make less then tables that are in busier areas. If dealers split their tips its easier to assign them at any table.

    One of the sportsbooks would usually post annual odds on the Oscars as well. Until rather recently, you needed specific permission from the Gaming Commission to accept a bet on something that was not a sporting event. Even today, there are restrictions; you cannot bet on elections, and you cannot bet on amateur sporting events (such as Little League, or high school sports for that matter) other than Olympic or college-level sports. There was a time when the commissioner of a professional league could ask the Gaming Commission to ban betting on any event in that league that either took place in Nevada or involved a team from Nevada. The NGC website used to have a copy of a letter sent from then NBA commissioner David Stern imposing his right at the time to request that betting on the 2007 NBA All-Star Game in Las Vegas be banned - in fact, he also requested a ban on betting on the three-point shooting and slam dunk contests, although I don't remember any Vegas books taking bets on those. "Coincidentally," this rule was removed right about the time the Raiders moved to Las Vegas and there was talk of holding a Super Bowl there.

    18:25 What is going on with the old "Money Baby!" Bar 🍸 and Sports Betting venue that used to be at Virgin? They suddenly closed down a couple years ago under mysterious circumstances with their financial business practices and having a conflict with Betfred. So I'm wondering what they are currently using that space for. Did you see what it looks like now? The atmosphere of that venue was gorgeous! P.S.- Virgin has the worst carpet, not because of the color/pattern, but because how thick it is and how much friction/resistance it has against guests rolling luggage gliding smoothly, making the long walk to the rooms significantly more physically exhausting.

    Why in world would you stay at a Las Vegas hotel if you live in the area. It makes no sense. It would make sense if you actually did an actual room and hotel review. I remember when you did quality hotel reviews a few years back. The Circa review was outstanding, as well as the walk you and your wife took along East Fremont. It's a shame you've gotten complacent. At this point the channel seems to be just going through the motions.

    I’m not aware of all of the scandals involving Steve Wynn, however I do find it strange that most powerful people are involved in all kinds of shady, predatory and unethical activities and no one really cares. Why have they chosen to cancel Steve Wynn but not Joe Biden? Look at the disturbing stuff in Ashley Biden’s diary and Hunter had Joe’s contact name in his phone listed as “pedo Pete”. And the way he was always sniffing and touching all those kids. Like, seriously WTF? Steve Wynn did a WAY better job of running the Wynn than the Biden administration has done running the country. Wynn kinda sucks a little bit without him running the joint. Look at Nancy Pelosi’s insider trading. She’s legendary for it and I don’t see her getting canceled. Just makes me wonder who Steve pissed off.

    Gr8 Update Fellas ! I worked for a U.S. Major Airline and of coarse you get the Way overrated perk of flying on available seating (when available). Flying non-rev (non revenue) seating used to be easy up until 2010 which is about the time they changed their seating sales and routes to make sure as many Revenue seats were sold as possible. For those reasons, Vegas was my "go-to" for the long weekend. Thru experience, I learned the art of the "deal" and would often find a nice Suite/Apartment, sometimes on secured property, and a nice car all for around $50 bucks a day, and often times even less. Those days are gone and now I make shorter visits or go w/o a car.

    I doubt Bally's will have the money to build on the strip. Their finances are not great and they are losing money so they likely will need partners or do a leaseback with a Reit or investment company.

  • @Milestomemories
    @MilestomemoriesКүн бұрын

    I think at this point it will be GLPI who puts in more money, but who knows. They already own the land in Vegas so Bally's would need to agree to something else for them to kick in more. Or they could force Bally's into selling the operations off which is another possibility. The problem with that site as I understand it is the size and scale you could build on it. There are some stricter height restrictions I believe compared to other Strip properties. Tough economics probably, but an A+++++ location which probably will make up for it.

  • @bonwatcher
    @bonwatcherКүн бұрын

    MGM and Caesar's sold their own land from underneath their properties and pay rent, so Bally's doing the same isn't new. But I think Mark is right, they all will regret it because the real estate is the only thing of value that will endure. Tips were pooled because craps dealers made so much more than table games and now no dealer will want to deal the carnival games that don't get much action and everyone will want to deal craps.

  • @Milestomemories
    @MilestomemoriesКүн бұрын

    Yeah we've been covering this for years and have always wondered long term how it will shake out on the land sales. It isn't just in gaming. Many hotel companies have done exactly the same although they scale a bit differently.

    That new 4 Queens shower looks like a lawsuit ready to happen. That small white strip separating the shower from the main bathroom area is very easy to trip over. Also, the white of the shower compared to the dingy tan/beige of the toilet is a bit unsettling. I wish Park MGM would redesign their rooms similar to how Virgin’s looks. The bare bones 😊room design is the only downside to Park MGM.
