Gambling is up because the house edge is up on the popular games. Triple Zero Roulette, 6:5 Blackjack, tighter slots. Casinos will be rolling in the dough until people stop playing those games.

The depression is going to hit Vegas hard in the next couple of years. All you have to do is look at the numbers, and you will see that it will eventually hurt Vegas. People are avoiding more expensive trips in favor of Vegas but an unemployment spike is going to happen within the next year, and that will start snowballing things.

There have been a lot of -2% and -3% on those reports, including the Strip. Not this one but, Strip gaming was down 3% last month, and North Las Vegas was down 2% this month. Those casinos have raised their prices more than 10% month after month for over a year, so a 4% increase seems pretty weak to me. Would love to see every year stacked side by side since 2019. I bet there's no increase outside of price. In fact, I bet there's a decrease, and the increase in price is the only thing that made revenue go up.

Harrahs in Laughlin needs a BIG refresh. It's old and nasty. Once, I stayed in the adult tower after it had been remodeled . I did not appreciate stepping into water on the floor when I got out of the shower. There is no door or shower curtain, just a half glass. The lady at check-in was very rude and insulted me. Madeira is a fortified wine and has an indefinite shelf life because they add brandy to it. Probably can find other bottles from the 1800's at auction even today.

Lack of menthol cigarettes in California makes me and my friends go to Vegas more often to make the pickup of menthol cigarettes in the shady off strip locations… and of course gamble, eat and drink on the Strip. Soon I will smoke only non menthol cigarettes, sometimes picking them up near the Indian casinos occasionally, but less and less.

I've been seeing stories every few years about the bubble bursting on Vegas going back to the 90's. Sure, there will be downturns, but it always bounces back in a new way. The only thing that will eventually halt Vegas's growth will be water. But even then, I'm sure geologists and hydrologists will find a way to squeeze more out of the Colorado River. Lastly, I have been standing with Scott @VitalVegas on A's not making to to Nevada. They'll either move to Salt Lake City permanently, or eventually get another California city, like Sacramento, to build them a new stadium.

Been waiting for the floor to fall out of the wider economy. But it hasnt, as you said. Cant explain it and that's why there's no retail confidence in markets at the moment. The only large asset trading is being done by institutional investors looking to privatise companies and package them into ETFs. It seems like the show is going on because it has to, not because it has any true optimism. The human spirit is undefeatable it seems. Maybe everything is booming and I'm just pessimistic 🤷‍♂️

Great Videos! I don't get your infatuation with Laughlin? It's Turning into a sad town. The Colorado Belle had been taken over by mold & bedbugs and will never open again. The town had a vision that was lost a few years after it flourished in the early 90's. No new projects in 30 years, nothing planned. Why they never even finished the River Walk. Long live River Rick!

@@Milestomemories No longer a 24 hour town. The ol' Sam's Town was a blast, the Pioneer had the hottest table action on the River, a Pit Boss make me hit on a 20, I lost, and he paid the whole table! Del Webb had what now is the Golden Nugget. The Riverside is interesting, had a Bat fly into my Suite. The Colorado Belle was a work of art, the Hilton, breathtaking when new, same with the Ramada/ Tropicana. Lived at Harrah's in 2014 for a month, $8 a night most nights. I moved to Needles after vacationing here for years. Summers are brutal as you know. Boyd Group won't leave me alone, sent me to the B52's last year. I have 80 cents in cash/food, with the lowest Tier card, yet have been on their Comp list for years? That has to change, plus I'm done with Sam's Town, it's dangerous. Always get a kick when I hear you guys talk about earning discounts like free parking or no resort fees, & reduced room rates. Vegas has become so expensive & the gaming doesn't seem as fun these days. Yet you two seem to have a blast, always great info!

The economy is good or bad depending on your income level. Upper middle class and above are fine and while lower middle class and below are suffering because of layoffs (more likely to get laid off), inflation and interest rates. Reno and Laughlin are down because more lower middle class go there for the deals compared to Vegas. This is a weird, two sided economy.

I'd be willing to wager that the big downturn comes shortly after the next time the casino companies put themselves in hock up the wazoo financing a bunch of new megaprojects with debt instead of issuing stock. When that is... who knows, but corporations are so addicted to debt financing (and so scared of the the hedge funds that force them to use it,) I figure that's the easiest path to doomsday.
