I actually don’t think she’s a bad Broadcster, I think she has difficulty elevating. The best broadcasters bring energy that stands out in the big moments. Also feels like she’s really screen watching rather than watching the game itself from up above. In sports like football that may work, but for baseball that makes things difficult especially when there are runners on base which is why she seems hesitant on that.

Thus, when home runs like the one with the screen get shown, if zoomed in enough she thinks that’s the fence. If she was looking at the field she’d see that. She’s having a hard time elevating because she’s having a hard time deciphering what the ball is doing on the camera angle they are on. And that’s why she doesn’t seem to know what she’s doing and hesitant.

You can't say that because he signed a big contract he should get better. You are paying for what a player is, not for what you want a player to be. And if you are talking comps like Trout and Ohtani then you aren't correct either. Trout since signing has been constantly injured and isn't performing better then his earlier years. Ohtani's contract is monster and still isn't pitching. I think what it's come down to is that he's overpaid. Not overrated.

She is learning, and maybe it's a shame that she is drowning in the deep end when there are more qualified women in baseball. I would love to see Lauren Shahadi get a chance. And all this being said, there are some awful announcers in MLB who make ignorant comments constantly. Cast in point: Steve Physioc of the Angels and Royals. A complete idiot. His comments were on par with hers for stupidity and lack of knowledge of the game.

I didn't follow any A's news so the first time I saw people flaming abt her play-by-play, I was like "Chill fam, she's not that bad" As times goes on, I'll be honest it is quite shit... It makes sense if she doesn't have any much experience on baseball terms. However, I'm hoping she learned about how absurd and cringe her calls are and learn from other veterans.

Jenny came from the Colorado Rockies broadcast team where she did post game shows and 'views from the stands' reports. Over the last year or so, she would call the game on TV when the main guy, Drew Goodman was away for some reason. I stopped watching those games as soon as I heard her making the calls because she was so bad - and that's saying plenty because she is replacing the worst TV play by play guy in the league in Drew Goodman. She serves as further proof that DEI has to DIE

You acting like the As had regular sellouts the As have had a tough time having fans come to the game since they came to Oakland there's a reason they got rid of the players on their early 70s 3pete championship team because they would be the best team in baseball and still last in attendance. They would have empty stadiums in the early 00s and they went to moneyball to try to stay competitive. And with all the crime and how bankrupt California is they are not going to be able to get a new stadium in Oakland so yeah they left like many businesses are doing in California.

Firstly, don’t think it’s just a male/female issue, or should I put that the other way around; female/male? Anyhow, might be helpful for Kavnar when she learns to score, that should make her familiar with the game’s jargon. Secondly, being based in the Netherlands I hear that same kind of inappropriate synonym quest from new soccer and other sports commentators. Mostly they’re new to the game, their babbling game. It simply doesn’t work, just like these awkward sentences Kavnar produces for a homer, a tied game, or a 1 run lead. The significance of commenting should be valued on the level of entertainment it adds, because that’s basically what it is. Nevertheless, this new generation of people getting into the sports babble are much more about their own performance, kind of literally literary. They seem to forget that the old guard took some time to come to ‘star’ status. And yes some of those old guys have developed their very own vocabulary. The difference is that their vocabulary evolved from knowledge, experience and passion, rather than the attempt to be the next best witty remarker. Back to the bullpen with this Kavnar voice, she doesn’t throw audible strikes.

The biggest issue is that she's the play-by-play announcer and doesn't do play-by-play. If you listen to the game on the radio, you have no idea what is happening. At best she could be the third accessory announcer. One who chimes in occasionally and is their to help move stuff along when nothing is happening.

This past offseason I heard a ton of criticism towards the Red Sox front office for really screwing up and “losing” Bogaerts, or as worded here: really botching the Bogaerts deal. While Boston did have a terrible offseason I have to think that they didn’t make any mistakes with Bogaerts. This is a guy they had on their 2013 championship team for his breakout year and then they kept for the next decade, winning a second championship in 2018. That decade was while he was on the right side of age 30 and unquestionably the prime of his career. Now if someone else wants to give him 11 years at $285 (including $5 million signing bonus) to pay him for what he did while wearing a Red Sox uniform then let them. Boston certainly didn’t botch anything on this one, they dodged a bullet. They lost out on Mookie and hit the jackpot by extending Devers.
