    The same literature was rife when Japan was rising economically. Yes china is bigger but its still a developing country and its economy is already going to shit as we speak. they have too many natural disaster, corrupt officials, people in general. the quality of the institutions are still the bedrock of the US and I know it is being tested, especially during election years, I don't think those will fail any time soon. So no, I don't think China will become the next world power. A power of some kind, just not the richest. Without support of the rest of the world, which is increasingly declining, it will simply never get there.

    I started watching this video and within the first minute I quit. Why? Because the producer sped up the video so fast that I couldn't read or even see what was being projected on the upward/downward timeline. I positively Hate it when this is done. For someone interested enough in the content to want to Watch as Well as listen, in able to Learn, the producer has just ruined it for me. I've spent Years stopping and backing up repeatedly to take in the visual as well as the audio content, and there's no telling how many years of my life I have spent now doing this. Well no more; I'm not wasting my last few years trying to learn about subjects when the the producer of the video speeds the visuals up so much I I can't take it in during the tiny fraction of a second that something is shown. Please stop this practice and I will will come back. I clicked on the video to learn about the subject; not to be insulted because I don't have the mental capacity of a rocket scientist. Please respect your entire audience, not just those with IQs of 160+. Thanks

    00:00 The economy works like a simple machine 02:39 Credit is the most important part of the economy. 05:15 One person's spending is another person's income 08:13 Credit creates cycles in the economy and allows for increased spending. 10:56 Credit creates growth in the economy 13:47 Spending is constrained by the availability of credit, which leads to economic expansion or recession. 16:38 Deleveraging leads to economic decline. 19:17 Debt burdens can come down through spending cuts, debt restructuring, wealth redistribution, and printing new money. 21:56 Debt restructuring causes income and asset values to disappear, leading to a worsening debt burden. 24:42 Printing money stimulates the economy but can lead to inflation. 27:25 To turn things around in a deleveraging process, the Central Bank needs to pump up income growth and get the rate of income growth higher than the rate of interest on the accumulated debt. 29:55 Three rules to follow for financial stability and success.

    Ray is clearly an expert on the subject, much more than myself and he is very intelligent. But what I most take issue with regarding his view is that he seems to have held a belief that moving off the gold standard will cause imminent collapse for 50 years. He seems married to the idea and that makes me concerned he is (unintentionally) finding data which proves this theory rather than trying to disprove it. The Fall of the US empire is likely guaranteed at some point but many falls of great empires in the past are gradual over centuries. America has led the world for 100 years give or take. Its downfall seems a little premature to happen right now. But what the hell do I know?

    You can't print gold, that's why it was chosen as a currency, so don't think Dutch empire was printing their currency. And then he only speaks about US situation currently while vaguely discussing other historical situations. Sounds more like their plan then what would naturally happen. They didn't start money printing until the Fed was invented in 1913 and when we completely went off the gold standard in 1979 is really when the populace were just complete sheep. Can't believe that we allowed people to just print money. You dont think the people running the printing machines are not printing money for their own personal gain and power?!? Lol have you ever heard of someone from the fed getting arrested for that? How would they not be tempted to do it? Answer, people running printing money print money for themselves and any those in charge of monitoring and rule the USA. They could just print money and buy up real estate, stocks, gold, oil etc (like what Blackrock and Vanguard do).

    I realized that the secret to making a million is saving for a better investment. I always tell myself you don't need that new Maserati or that vacation just yet. That mindset helped me make more money investing. For example last year I invested 80k in stocks and made about $246k,but guess what? I put it all back and traded again and now I am rounding up close to a million.

    Be generous and expect generosity! And how do you define or identify generosity: mostly by the kinds of people around you and how they treat you. You'll be in win-win relationships, as it's supposed to be. Amazing advice!

    I think step 1a is to weed out the goals that are more like wishes or fantasies, or downright obviously unrealistic. In step one, declaring what you really want, can include things that just won't happen. This 1a step isn't the same as steps 2 or 3 where we determine what's standing in our way.

    NO IT DOESNT WORK ! - My wife and I have given many times and we have been screwed so many times we stopped counting. THE LAST THREE times I tried to help out the homeless got me stabbed ! From my life I have learned that "Doing good things cost you much more in the long run", and why I trust no one anymore. YES I have the scars and pictures to prove my point as "100% factual".

  • @peterbeer8657
    @peterbeer86572 күн бұрын

    You need to listen to the whole clip. It's not about doing good deeds. It's about expecting win-win relationships. Clearly the homeless you met aren't interested in such relation with you. Principled: You tried to do good. You failed. Evaluate what went wrong... It's the type of people you're building relationships with. Try again but try to help people who will in turn show you appreciation back. That what he said too: EXPECT generosity back.

  • @richardburtonjr1889

    #1- First Attempt In Learning "went wrong" by your standards, but I have been around folks from both sides of the pay scale and the more affluent are the first to avoid all knowledge of you, but expect you to bail them out first. --More affluent from my experience means even less to trust then the homeless. The homeless try, where the more affluent just expect everything from everyone.

  • @peterbeer8657
    @peterbeer8657Күн бұрын

    @@richardburtonjr1889 I guess I missed the point of just how keen you are on helping the homeless. Well, the "system" is called capitalism, that has the word 'capital' in it and it means the rich get the money and the poor get just a tiny bit of it. And yes that is entirely so by design. R. Dalio did say to be generous AND expect generosity back. So, you weren't in the right company with those rich people either if they let the worker bail them out all the time, that was just one-sided generosity thus not a win-win relationship. Life is tough and it ain't fair either. True. I'm guessing when you're working with homeless people you still need to make deals with them. For example promise a minimum and additional bonuses if certain targets were achieved. One-sided giving doesn't work. Good luck!
