I need advice installing a bow eye in a epoxy foam raven paddle board. I plan to pull it behind a electric recumbent bicycle , with a yeti cooler and some ice and drinks on top while towing, I plan to have two bicycle wheels at the back. I have 4 tie points up front but need a tie point at the very front and it has to be strong. My plan is to either drill a horizontal hole large enough to glue a piece of carbon fiber tube with like a 6" set back from the tip from side to side of the board or drill a long hole at the bow to glue in a stainless eye bolt. Can someone please give me some suggestions please. Thanks

Did you choose 6oz (as opposed to 4oz) because the board has no stringer? It was crazy how much the blank flexxed when you were cutting the rail bands. Really well done.

Epic! What glue did you use to attach the extra foam on the rails? Epic paint finish! Did you roll over clear coat at the end? Sick. I was gonna comment that it looked like you fully lost a fin out there! 😀. You could notice it after the 17:00 min mark. You actually did pretty good with that kooked fin

How good! Loved this. Seen lots of shapers not use cloth over the fin boxes. I see you did. I glass over mine when doing repairs. What’s your opinion on cloth over or not using cloth over? Thanks bro. Yeow! From Taranaki New Zealand

Nice Job! I have one question though: Please tell me where I‘m wrong! If you sand the epoxy filler flush with the board, then apply two layers of fiberglass you should have a small bump where the new patch is right? If you again sand it flush afterwards, don’t you take away all the new fiberglass as it was „on“ the boards shape? Intuitively I would sand the epoxy filler down so that it is a bit „lower“ than the board. This way I won’t sand all the fiberglass of just to get it flush with the rest again.
@tbaart442821 күн бұрын
Yeah you’re right. 👍 U gotta sand the q cell filler and a little bit of the original board down more so that there is enough space for the fiberglass to fill in and not make a bump.
