I appreciate this. I believe this impulse Kastrup is referring to is your ordained path. It can be called your "nature" as it is personal to your inner being, but I believe it to be the force of life itself manifesting in you like the stem of a flower pushing outward into the air. It is exhilarating. It is your connection with god. While it may feel impersonal, I don't believe it is cruel. Surrender is not cruel, it opens you to the possibility of love which the ego can never fulfil.

I think the biggest misunderstanding in your guest's thought process is that he equates religion, spirituality with reality itself. He tried very hard in his life to get the "right" views, the views that would explain to him everyting there is in plain, simple way, the way one gets a job or an education. He was trying to use spirituality and religion in his life the same way child belives in santa claus and he makes a lot of this comparison in this talk which indicates that I might be right. He gave up trying to get the ultimate truth just from practising the "right" believe system, which is understandable, but his attempt was faulty in the first place. The religions and spirituality practices are not be-all and end-all, as he belives them to be, and refuses to belive them. They are merely tools, helping humanity to grasp the universe, nothing more than that. His views are just elaborate frustration about the fact that religion is not the thing he belives it to be.

Replacee "nature" with "God' or Jesus and this sounds exactly like any number of Christian speakers. The central theme of the New Testament is putting aside your personal will regardless of what it does to you personally. I'm making no judgements on the validity of thw Bible or what this man is saying. It's just an observation.

Nature sounds like a jerk. Also I do enjoy this man's talks but I have to wonder how you tell the difference between "nature's" will and your own will. I know he basically said "You can't know" but hod did he even realize there was a difference to begin with if it's something so subtle and ethereal. We've all experienced various types of motivations that feel different, so why is one more or less "special"? Since it would be non local and and it would contain the collective will then it's probably the one you should go with but, one more time, why are we saying it has these properties to begin with with since it's not easy or maybe even impossible to tell what it is when it happens? I do think there's a collective will and I do think consciousness (best word we have to describe it but it's totally inadequate) is fundamental. Consciousness gives rise to the physical, the physical does not give rise to consciousness but if we can't tell the personal will apart from the overall will I'm not sure it's even worth discussing.

Frank means that the experience of Energy is a more fundamental reality than the direct experience of the thought, a thought is the phenomenological out come of contracted Energy in the head area, regering to 36 min. It’s a bit funny When you say a three year old would just say “thoughts”. But Word are not the point, its about understanding What experiental reality they are pointerns to. I agree that the energetic experience seems to be closer to truth than the conceptual thought reality.

Absolutely charmed by your thoughtfulness and intellectual suffering in this world, Bernardo. It rings true to a deep authenticity and urgency. I often think of Herman Hesse and Rilke. They must have sensed what was coming--it is obvious that they indeed did; but they didn't flee to another country or hide in the mountains. They set forth. They found their beauty. They fought darkness. All in silence. All with reverence.
