The Quest 3 was my first ever entry into the world of vr and aside from the motion sickness that might take a bit to get used to, overall probably one of the most enjoyable experiences I've had with any gaming device besides my PC. Truly a staple in the VR world and I can't wait to see what more it brings.

Thw worst thing about it is the fan. Not the noise but it's effectiveness. With the cushion and can right on the forehead, it blocks most of its airflow power and with a bunch of messing around you might get it to blow some air into the eye space, but very hard to achieve. Definitely needs to rework their fan and actually make it useful.

VR is a foreign concept to this 75 year old. This unit intrigues me with the mixed reality. I am just starting to use X-Plane and it would be great if this would allow me to see the view out the windscreen in the top 1/2 to 2/3 and my controls and instrument panel through the cameras. Is that even possible?

I have the RockJam Keyboard..can I just follow along using this keyboard vs buying a MIDI? PianoVision says "Connect a MIDI keyboard or play on a flat surface with the Virtual Piano!", so why not use regular keyboard instead of flat surface..even if it doesn't plug into the headset? I've never played piano and I got it for a steal on Amazon for under $60 (USD). For those using a MIDI, any suggestions? As a newbie, I really don't want to spend a lot of money on one, especially since I'm not sure if it's something I'll continue with. Thank you for your help! AND of course, for the helpful video! I've been wanting to learn piano for a couple decades, thought this would be a fun way learn.

I have the quest 3 and a rtx4090 it‘s definitely really good. But you will never have s really good picture over oculus link. Not at 120Hz and full quality. The compression is just not really good in comparison. And the graphics card has to work a lot harder than with just a normal dp cable.

Walkabout mini golf is 2 more games within the game of golf itself. Brilliant team behind this franchise. Search for new balls and complete the scavenger hunt type activity for each hole to get more putters. Its also fun to float around the courses. Upside down town is crazy new way to play mini golf. Its a paid add on but worth it.

One thing you didn't cover was the ability to get extra batteries--though at a price for sure. And they have that charger that can supposedly charge the batteries faster and can do up to three at once. But with my Quest 2 I was happily working with the M2 pro and I never had to get another battery though it would have been nice. (I sold that setup to a nice family that would not have been able to buy a HMD at full price.) I may consider getting another battery for the S3 anyway. Another side not is that BoboVR now has upgrade kits for their older straps to convert them to be able to use the new battery but sadly the socket is not backwards compatible with the older batteries. My big question is have you found a good facial interface that pairs up nicely with the S3 yet? I'd be happy to find a good, more breathable option.

Tha value proposition of these games alone is worth thousands of dollars. Cuts out all the costs of equipment/entry/and logistical planning and time..and cuts straight to focusing on the physical mechanics that makes all of these sports/activities so addictive and enjoyable in the 1st place. And without the need for cleanup/settup. Just right into the game doing what makes it fun. To think you can squeeze in a round of golf/ a quick game of ping pong/ and a game of 9 ball all within an hour after dinner and before bed is a luxury never afforded until a few years ago, and i dont think people really understand that this is what the Quest is offering. Forget the notion of "i can play grand theft auto in VR" flat screen games in vr can get old and daunting quick, but competition in sports never gets old

the pico neo 3 link is still available on amazon. it is display port and a wireless standalone if that's your thing. it's way cheaper than the dpvr e4. 275 euro at the moment. to be honest DPVR are living in dreamland with the pricing of the headset.

I bought the Crystal last year and essentially stopped playing VR games because of it (sim racing and flying mostly). I find the headset far, far too uncomfortable (I'm used to wearing helmets etc). When wearing it, even tightened down, it feels like I'm balancing a dish on my head (the strap - the headset does not fit my face) - it wobbles on my head. Perhaps if you're lucky enough to have a face shape identical to how they molded the headset and foam. I'd never thought I'd say this, but I don't use it due to the fit. This is why I'm looking at the Quest 3. Even considering Varjo at this point. I do agree though, the clarity and resolution of the Crystal is indeed amazing.
