I think it’s wonderful💖✨💫 I loved skateboarding as a kid, biking not so much. Riding a bicycle is too dangerous. If I’m on the road I have to worry about getting run over. If I’m on a sidewalk I worry about running into a pedestrian. With a kick scooter I can just put my foot on the ground if I want to stop. I love the idea of scooting around and it definitely appeals to my inner child. I think it will be a joyful activity, and not a worrisome one. I have an elderly friend and she loves it💖✨💫

I like using Nvida shadowplay because I only care about those quick 2 minute clips, but I hate how in shadowplay it records desktop audio which can ruin the clip. This might be a good replacement
wait till you try h24 1. the new note pad is a dissaster 2. drag and drop is useless 3. the fonts are ugly & I was unable to change them I had to return to windows 10 after two days

It's too wide for 1 handed use. And why would anyone carry this in additional to a phone??? If you just going to use it at home or work then just get a good tablet. Don't really see the point of these things.
It is not too big for one handed use. Source; I've been DOING THAT. It's for people who actually READ. and I don't mean doomscrolling twitter. I mean actual books, Novels, long form content. Shit that takes long enough to rad that it would suck your phone's battery dead before you're done. If you "dont see the point", you likely never will, this stuff isn't made for you. But to screech like these things are "pointless" just makes you look like a twat. Don't like, or feel the need for ereaders? stop watching videos about them genius.

Hi Blunty, I second your opinion about Hori build quality. The reason Valve went with Hori, in my humble opinion, is that Hori is a Japanese based and established brand. So yeah, very suitable for that market.
Sadly disappointment by not bringing over all the controls (besides the touchscreen). But makes me not care that it's JP exclusive I guess.
I would have loved to see the x-02 armour in the show but I doubt we will see it
I ride my kick scooter to get places faster and sometimes evade bus fares for local journeys. Commuting to the shops, the next towns over , for 30 min journeys, commuting to the train station for work. HUDORA BigWheel 205 Scooter , lasted me a good while but I need something with better ground clearance. It gets bumped on the tree roots in the pavement.

I'm very happy to see the "Off/Don't Record" option. I simply don't care about saving clips, and I would be very unhappy if Valve was always recording video to my drive that I'm never going to use (even with a size limit in place, it'd still be writing which is wear and tear I don't want). Valve isn't always great about letting people opt out of certain features (like the "What's New" thing in our Libraries that has only ever served me ads and spam for things I don't want) so it's nice to see that they're letting us opt out of this one.

I've been waiting to buy a new one cuz i knew valve would make a steam controller 2...and then they release this sht? Really? Yeah I'm that person... All I want are these fucking touch pads... This is the only controller I can use and play well with... I don't want no fucking sticks

Have to make a small correction, you're sadly not even guaranteed to get 1080p. You'll get whichever way your resolution fits downscaled into 1920x1080. In my case on a 32:10 screen (5120x1440) I end up with 1920x540 clips, which is kind of disappointing. But overall very nice start, so I'm hoping for lots of improvements. I like it so far, especially since - as you've mentioned - it won't just fill my SSDs.

The initial excitement after hearing it happening, being followed by disappointment after specs were revealed. Half-assed on so many fronts... just why. At least this time the controller is getting SteamInput support so it will be already better than any other controller out there bar DualSense... but really, wtf HORI.

might check out steams video recorder, but if i really need to record something ill just open up OBS, but the "editing" feature kinda reminds me a little bit of ShareFactory on the ps4/5 very minimal and simple
I mean the steam deck is the only one who can go. Here have an ~£800 pc in a handled form factor for £400 - £600. None of that charging for their rnd/patents like the $1500 apple added to the price of the vision pro
Playing Dragon Age 2 on Deck right now with a controller layout that uses the trackpads is perfect, however there is no way to play it like that docked since there are no controllers with trackpads (unless I shell out ungodly amounts of cash for a used OG Steam controller). We would all benefit from a controller like this that had some track pads, back buttons, and gyro.
I feel that partly reason for controller gaming to rise on steam i because so many console players are coming to pc these days and so many games these days are made controller in mind like many fps games help you straightup win if you use controller and aim assist vs m&kb

I like what the website says about the controller but the quality of it's gyro must at least match the Dualsense for me to even considerate it.
Yeah good gyro is essential for fps games. I had difficulties with my PS4 controller not being precise enough, which were fixed when I got a 8bitdo controller which had amazing gyro.
Yjr [ ptrvious Steam contrller was roughly the worst garbager controller ever made. What e were they thinkingh? Maybe only NES Max was worse, actually Microsot Sidewinder was the worst, because of literally the worst D pad in history.
We need official SteamOS on PC !

hori is definitely upper eschelon of third party manufacturing for consoles enough to secure many deals with Nintendo and Sony themselves. They make for the price that is not over 200€ excellent fight sticks, that are also licensed that is big for the current PS5 compatibility. They made one of the highest regarded N64 controllers fixing it to be usable for most that is now being cloned by retro figthers or some such. They are not Mad Catz for sure though ironically one could say historically Mad Catz made better arcade sticks than hori does these days. I have not tested personally any Hori product that made me feel like mad catz and other actually low grade products. Worst I can say for their cheap products is that they are still best product for the price, but the price does show.
HORI is like a nostalgic thing. Back in the 90s/maybe slightly later they were A++ but their quality has definitely went down. I think that is the plan here for people to be like OOH HORI but it's not the same.
Handheld PCs, specifically cheaper ones from China were always being manufactured and sold. They just got more popular after the Steam Deck. That new controller shown off looks alright, no gyro, rumble or a trackpad is a shame but I guess it’s just a comfortable quality controller. PC gaming from what I can tell has been less popular in Japan than it has in the west and as you mentioned Xbox is not a very popular option for console gaming there. This partnership with Hori means that the Steam platform and PC gaming as a whole might be starting to pick up a bit over there.
