Sony messed up, they're the publisher.....its their fault, it's their job.... they publish the game... sonybalso choose where you can make a psn account. Except we know how online really works......it doesn't need psn - that's not how online works, they could do it without psn. You can blame the playerbase but it's still Sony being dicks in the end. The thing is helldivers 2 is online only, all sony are doing is ensuring piracy in those other countries for GoT. (Which tbh Sony deserve backlash for). Hell the fact that selling the game in those countries would be illegal anyway under false advertisement laws as muktiplayer which is advertised would be unavailable there.

Stopped playing helldivers 2. I'm done signing up for every company's bullshit so they can have a little bit of my data to sell. Fuck right off with that.

It likely that they made this decision due to the fact those countries have bugger all sales, not worth fixing their PSN system.

Sony should let PSN be optional and use steam/epic for multiplayer for PC only players

I have a big question that no one has talked about. Why are there countries that cannot have PSN account? And moreso, why so MANY?> Icould understand a few countris here and there for legal reasons where enemy countries, gov wont let u. BUt whya not? I never heard of ubisoft or microsoft or any other company, EA, having so many countries where they cannot have account. WHY?

HAve we heard, will it have cross PLAY and also cross SAVE? Sony could sel alot more double diopers if CROSS SAVE and cros play. Those of us that cant wait and grt the console verison, maybe we owuld like the pc version later, but not want to start at begining, could resatart the pc on new game plus if our svaes transfer. And if cros play I oculd toss mty DISC to buddy to play with me and play the PC version on my beast rig.

The new PSN overlay system WILL allow things like cross-save, yes... however, Ghost of Tsushima does not utilize that. Cross-play for MP only.

Sadly, Blunty, I hate to say this, but now the Xbox has been shown to be the “bad guy” (the secret was they aren’t your friends!) gamers have moved on. I think it was James Stephanie Sterling that said that gamers(TM) have the attention span of gnats. I don’t know I’ve ran to the point where as upset I am with hi-fi rush, doing badly and the studio closing, I did my part and rather enjoy it on my steam deck. On topic, however yeah, that’s the problem no demand and cry about something but now it just means that they’re gonna have to pay the penalty and what quite honestly sometimes sometimes it should happen this way ! C;

sony has lost me. ps2 was best playstation home console imho. i do love my psp, especially for the homebrew minecraft-like game "lamecraft" for it has. to clarify: my issue isnt the psn account per se, but helldivers is a game about democracy, but its only available on steam to just a few countries for sale. i am protesting to this day still, and im protesting harder by not giving any money to sony, i had sackboy adventure, helldivers 2, ratchet clank, rift apart wishlisted, not i pressed ignore on all sony published games on steam. it saves me money in the future at least :)

Dude, how are you defending Sony selling a game in 170+ countries where it's illegal to play in. "Well you can make an alt account it's easy, they don't check" Why the hell should it be the players' responsibility to make an illegal account to play a game that's being sold to them?? Sony is perfectly capable of having their games playable online without a PSN account, we know this because Helldivers2 *launched like that*. It's absolutely absurd to blame the players for this. Sony decided to sell a game in 170+ countries that you could play in those countries, and then flipped a switch that meant those countries could no longer legally play it anymore. How the hell can you defend that, much less blame and insult the people who were rightfully outraged? Ghost of Tsushima's multiplayer Legends mode is optional yes, but it's something a lot of people enjoy, are looking forward to, and is part of the overall value of the game they're selling. And it would be trivially easy to remove from a version for countries without PSN, you just disable the option to talk to that NPC. That's it. Probably easier than if it were a menu. Players' rightfully calling out Sony are not why Ghost of Tsushima is unavailable in so many countries, Sony deciding for no damn reason that PSN is mandatory to play the Legends mode on a PC port, is why the game is unavailable for so many. Sony being unwilling to make a different version with less than 5 minutes of coding effort to remove the multiplayer function in countries they won't allow to legally access it anyways, is the problem here. Not the damn consumers. I expected much better from you than this.

The sites for helldrivers 2 literally said it required a psn account. The ads said it required a psn account. When you log into the game, says you need a psn account. You can't then get upset when they enforce that. You were warned for 6 to 9 months. Because of you, they are no longer going to allow any of their games to be optional. Mandated, no exceptions.

6 mins into the video and I just wanted to say I haven't gone "a-diving" (in my own words) since 😂 instead I am investing in 100%ing Paper Mario 64 before TTYD comes out, have reinvested my time into completing the story for Cult of the Lamb which I put down a little bit ago, AND I bought Hades on sale for $8. ABSOLUTE steal. What I have learned from the past few weeks between Microsoft and Sony shitting the bed is this: support indy. SUPER looking forward to Animal Well and Little Kitty Big City. While I don't agree with the take of crapping on a player base for getting a fast one pulled over on us (it happens), I can at least agree with you that this is a shit storm and I will have no part in it. Sucks too because the new warbond looked interesting. =/
