It's so bad even networking (who you know) is barely working. My network doesn't send me jobs very often (so they aren't hiring much). And even when I do get sent a recommended job it's always like 5+ years of experience, and I still get rejected. I have a degree but nope. There's literally no hope

If you don't think you have a network, in my view you're wrong because everyone has a network. With the internet, we all also have the ability to get a network. You may not know anyone directly. But you do have Linkedin and other job websites. We also have relatives and family members as well as friends. Just because they might not know anything about your field doesn't mean that people at your uncle's church doesn't have people in that industry. And he can put in a good word for you that you're qualified and looking. Your friend that works at a Starbucks may not have a job for you, but his / her parents may know people who can refer you - and so on, and so forth. That's how networking works. People want to help because they think they can do you a favor and people like helping if they can. Because they may be in a position to need the help in the future. I'm not saying networking is the cure, but it can help a lot with the job search. Your immediate circle may know nothing about the field that you're in but that doesn't mean that they cannot help you expand your circle.

All these companies are propped up by money that regular folks don't have access to. They don't have to make money because the money is coming (indirectly) from the government printing press.

Lyrics ( I think correct me if I’m wrong☻) The economy is lying Children are dying Sickness consumed all of my plans Do you want to dance Do you want to dance I really love to riot bestow my information diet In this political climate it’s too hot to take a stance Do you want to dance Do you want to dance Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah I can’t stand the papers They won’t capture me Forever occupied by own celebrity Darling take a chance Do you want to dance I may be brazen but at least I’m not bruised Honesty is weakness and I rather not be used Let’s play romance Do you want to dance Ticking ticking time bomb We all hear a click We stay quiet so I let my feet throw a fit My feet throw a fit My feet throw a fit My- My feet throw a fit My feet throw a fit Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah

Grammys have no meaning. we can all stop cating for that. Taylor Swift getting all the Grammys for her most mid and uninspired albums while totally ignoring Lana, Charli or SZA is ridiculous. no credibility whatsoever

I love her references in her music because it feels like me referencing my own friends in that same way. and she also said in a video recently about like dressing for brat summer how all you need is like...a white tank top and a pack of cigs lol like it's exclusive yet if you want to get it, you're totally invited. actually the invitation has already been sent.

Currently going down the Charli rabbit hole cuz of this amazing album which led me to here and I couldn't be happier. i enjoy the silly meta commentary in her lyrics and how much she shouts other artists out. As a hip hop fan, this aspect (plus her braggadocio) reminds me of rap. When you said the words "worldbuilding" and "mythology" it clicked for me - that's exactly why I've grown to like her so much. Great breakdown and i look forward to more of your thoughtfulness :)

first of all, in the past we had to make a lot more effort to find a job. Now you click on indeed and send 100 applications in an afternoon. And when everybody does that, some companies receive thousands of applications. So if you fail 1000 times... do you repeat what has failed or look for another way to apply? I could tell you how to do it... but I guess you'll have to figure that one out for yourself. Look for why your generation is doomed and you can turn that around in a week.

She's the people's princess for real music & art & lore lovers. She is and has been the answer to the music industry's struggle to actually gain a steady footing ever since getting a major label contract and selling records became no longer cool/no longer the end all be all of success in the music industry. She actually had the courage to experiment and to do the traditional thing a bit differently. She has blazed a trail and navigated the new music industry really successfully while showing you don't need taylor-ariana-katy-dua level success to be incredibly loved and influential. By straddling the underground music world and the mainstream music world she solidified a unique and captivating spot in between the 2. The impact she's had on culture and music is unmatched.

now that brat is out and I've had some TIME to listen and chew on it I think my favs of the new stuff are probably Apple, Sympathy is a Knife, and Spring Breakers but we will see once those remixes drop. Everything is Romantic close contender as well but it's pretty hard to choose on an album of no skips 😵‍💫 Pleasantly surprised by the more introspective lyrics here and there I wasn't expecting and not surprised but delighted by the banging beats/production

After Gen X and Millennials, it’s like everyone stop starting companies started flooding into the same few companies. Gen Z became infatuated with going “FAANG”, that’s all you heard. These companies can’t hire a whole generation of people, it’s literally impossible. Stop crying about it and start companies like the generations before you did.

Yeh we spent 2 years and hired 5-6 different people to fill a roll on my crew. Only thing that came from it is I refuse to even bother anymore. My crew as is has been wi to me almost 15 years. Just won’t grow the company as anyone under 40 just absolutely sucks when it comes to work ethic. They go out on work nights til 3 am and show up hours late if at all. They stand there knowing what to do next. But won’t do it u til theyre told too.

Your breakdown of 360 video is pretty much my thoughts. I will say that i personally feel ambivalent because im not partial to the internet it girl/ model/actress culture because its jarring for me to see most of them being white and with similar body types and i dont want to get too into the discourse of that (I will even admit that when i watched the video i felt disapointment specifically because i wished ayo edebiri appeared given that we see rachel senott). BUT! I took a step back and thought 'dude who cares these are obviously just charli's friends chill out'. I can see that charli does not intend exclusion at all. In fact, putting aside my mixed feelings on the music video, i love the song 360 itself and i do sing to myself naked in the mirror "im so julia!" And i think thats what the song is really about. Its for average people like me to sing along and feel that 'Actually you are hot. That girl you see smiling in the mirror is fucking hot. You ARE comparable to julia fox and you should say it!'

Well spotted Kate, something is really off. In Brussels, Belgium, they have the nerve to say that thousands of vacancies are left without applications. BS because not in horeca you will be able to find 😢a job! Either you have highdchool diploma or you are Ph.D. and the HR people are disgusting often too lazy to read and understand the applicant's CV. Or completely provincial to understand other realities and experiences of international applicants. A lot of times toxic and racists HR that disregard internationals. LinkedIn is super toxic, majority of profiles are fake or highly exaggerated!
