Hi! I’m Tazhi and I’m a fiber crafter based in Brooklyn, NY with a passion for wool and all the things it has the potential to become. Join me for a foray into processing and spinning wool, knitting with handspun, sewing and weaving. Let's make something rad together. ✨✨

I still have to watch vlogmas as I was saving yours to watch when I am spinning and I am finally catching up on your podcast as I am spinning saving the best for last!!!💜🥰
Late to the party, but, great episode, that is a ton of spinning! Looking forward to seeing the TdF haul 🙀 And you’re a dyer now 🌈 For me, one of the most fun things about dyeing is overdyeing. I’d dunk your pastel gradient in blue for all the joy 😍
Jacob is amazing!!!
I feel the same way about bfl😂
I had no idea you had new videos! Thanks youtube algorithm! 😂 I'm a late starter to TDF this year because I hurt my arm, but I cant wait to see what everyone is spinning up <3 Thank you for being the spinning inspiration that pops up just when I need some motivation!
Wool to gold mentioned you on his podcast and I'm so glad!
OMG this is one of your best episodes! I am just getting to this now (June 25) and hope I am not too late for the Tour de "Flance" (aka France). I loved that you invited Christopher as I was unaware of his channel and podcast and really look forward to adding that to the things I follow. I was particularly intrigued/moved by the idea that we are "stewards" of craft, whatever that may be. Anyway, I could go on but just wanted you to know that this was a fabulous episode! As always, I am your friend and fan in fiber!
You’re killing me- showing off your gorgeous springy handspun!! And I’m sitting here knitting with yarn that’s got zero elasticity- 50% linen 50% silk….. but as much as I dislike knitting it, I know I’ll wear it constantly in the heat.
I'm very new to sheep and spinning and this whole video is just me going "I like your funny words, magic man." Because I only understand like half of what you're saying. 😂
You started doing ccs and my research scientist brain did 400 mL of a one percent dilution. Also, please tell us about the organizing of the yarn wall. I love craft space organizing videos.
Great episode! Love all your spinning. Happy creating 💚🧶💚
With 6000 yards, you spun 3.409 miles of yarn. In a month. Good golly Miss Molly…that’s a lot of yarn and a lot of spinning! And it is all so beautiful! harpingJanet
Effing love Corriedale. Also, I’ve got three …”batts” from honer och eir and I’m saving them until I get hand cards (I asked for some for my bday) because I simply cannot spin it enjoyably.
What makes you think a tardis isn’t a manifestation of ADHD 😂
Most of the time I hear a sort of “default north east” accent from you, but when you said “margin of error” I hear the most precious NY (Brooklyn, I think) accent
Thank you for this birthdaygift of a new video! (I mean, it was uploaded on my bday, eventhough the cat overlords only gave me youtube privileges 24 hours later)
That FB raw wool group gets me in trouble all the time. Basically the only reason I still have FB😂
You are NOT allowed all the corriedales! Let me have the Australian ones Tazhi. I completely agree with you about Corriedales and it angers me when people tell me "WeLl YoU hAvE CleArLy NeVeR hAd a PrOpEr MeRiNo FlEeCe" when I say that I have corriedale in my stash finer than the merino in my stash.
I'm just washing my first long draw three ply yarn and I was a bit sad that my grist says it's a DK weight and I got about 333 yards in 119g. I've heard such great things about massive yardage due to air in long draw but it doesn't seem to have happened for me. What are your tips? I was spinning combed top from the fold and maybe that had something to do with it.
Hi hi! I love the autumnal, swampy, grumpy colors. And I don’t like how I look in them. 😢 The colors that complement me are bright, clear, intense, in your face. Magenta and fuchsia, ruby, emerald. I do like them, but the others speak to my soul. Only I could end up being a cool toned, natural redhead. :P
i don't spin or dye, but i do need some very white yarn for a black-white Dissent, and it's always nice to see you again! 6K yds in 4 weeks?! don't forget to sleep 🙂... omg, the emerald and purple yarns are so beautiful [i'm all abt the jewel tones]. looking forward to seeing what you're knitting. 🙂
I was thinking about you this morning and a couple hours later i got notified that you had new content.
Do I spin? No. Do I dye? No. Do I watch anything Tazhi? Yes. Thank you for another episode.
same ! 🙂 i came for the knitting, stayed for the energy
Yeah, I said that last year too... Now I own three wheels and two spindles...
@@daniellebissonnette3304🤣🤣🤣
@@daniellebissonnette3304 ditto this. No regrets! Lol
Gotta get a Camp Wooligan shirt Omg! As always, I wish to hear more about your d&d games 😅 but so glad to see you and dang! You've been keeping busy!
I loved everything about this episode, thank you
HIIII TAZHI!!!! Cant wait to watch this. Thanks for hosting a team this year, im so excited to spin with you all
That Charles really is beautiful. You are such an inspiration.
I couldn’t tell you how excited I was to see a blue dot by your channel and how fast I got myself in my spinning chair to spin while I watched!! Thank yoooou for the episode! Showing off handspun is literally the best and I love it.
Girl. I love you blabbering or not 🌹😍
All signed up. I can’t wait! I haven’t heard anything though where should we post stuff once TdF starts?
Lol, your description of DPNs is 100% accurate! 😂😂😂
I’ll be joining in if there is still room!
Came here after watching the companion video on Chris’ channel and I feel the energy to join in on the fun. Thank you both for sharing. ♥️♥️
I’m way late to the party for your videos but I am really appreciating your outlook on crafting. I don’t like being put in a box either or being told what I “need” to do with my craft. It’s nice to hear that from someone else.
This is my first video and I'm so happy to find a trans fiber artist and their podcast. Not enough trans faces out here. 😊❤
This is the most beautiful thing Ive seen on the internet in a very long time. I am so honored to share this space with the both of you and your lovely souls ♥
Christopher. Your ear buds are what I’ve been looking for. What brand?
Yay! Two of my fave fiber peeps together, in two videos!! Very excited for the tour de fleece!
Hooray! So happy to hear you’ll be joining us.
I just wind off my bobbins into balls with a ball winder to store yarn for plying
Just discovered you today. As someone who has been spinning for more years than I care to admit it’s wonderful to see someone young enthusiastic about spinning.
A Tazhi/Christopher vlog?? Could the universe provide a better treat? I am HERE 110% for the mashup podcast/vlog (Stitches and Purls? Flannel and Starlight??). -sigh- A girl can dream. Either way, thrilled and SO excited for the Tour De Fleece team. The feelings of crafting isolation ring very true, so I'm looking forward to spinning with (or digitally adjacent to) some very awesome humans.
Welcome to the team! I’m so glad you’ll be joining us in the fun digital spaces - as much as irl community would be a treat, I’m glad we have spinning friends through our fancy computers.
I really enjoyed the interview. Still saving up for a spinning wheel but I’m here for the education and fun
There’s always spindles and other ways to spin till you have a wheel!
Those rainbow sunglasses are PEAK vibes. I have been doing TdF for yeeeeeears and I've never done any of the team prep, but I am so down for this!
Hooray! Welcome to the team.
52:45 when you invite those of us who have been peering in from the other side of the fence watching all of you have so much fun, spinning and creating, but haven’t even gotten into the pool area let alone dipped a toe to come be a part of the team. This is why I love both of your channels so much and this MAY JUST be what sends me flying into the deep end.
You can always dip your toe into the shallows before jumping all the way in - there’s plenty of places to have fun in the pool.
Great interview. I love hearing about all the plans and fibres and all of the things.
this interview is honestly making me want to go back and watch more of Christopher's videos. I love his videos, but until now I don't think i've been in the right mindset for the Bob Ross of knitting.
I watch them only when I’m ready mentally to enjoy them so I totally understand that.
Yes!!!! TDF 2024!!!
I just signed up, can’t wait to see the Hello Yarn braids, and I have SO many ideas for what I will spin for my first Tour de Fleece! Thanks for being my inspiration!
What a delight to hang out with the two of you! I'm so excited for TDF this summer and hearing Christopher talking about apples was the analogy to sheep breeds I didn't know I needed. I'll definitely be spinning my CVM that is the flockmate of Charles. I've done my samples like a good spinner and am probably going to knit up swatches to see what I prefer for the traveler as that's what i'm hoping to make! I also have a combo spin planned for the traveler hoodie on my Starling, so I may alternate between a wheel spin and a e-spinner spin for the tour. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of joy we can collectively create through this fun event ❤
Thank you so much for not only inviting me into your space and sharing time with me but for being my CO-CAMP COUNCELLOR 😊😊😊😊😊 Truly cannot wait for the end of June to get here. I'm dumping all of my bobbins as we speak.....
