I never could get into the capsule wardrobe either. I tried, and it just felt too limited. I'm not the most stylish person, anyway. When I'm not in scrubs, it's leggings and a tshirt long enough to cover my butt. Dressing like you escaped from the Hobbit is 100% my jam. The way that I wish we would bring cloaks back into fashion rotation. I'm not brave enough to wear the one I made out in public yet. I LOVE stays. My sewing goal is to make my first pair of stays next year, too. It's so intimidating to me, though, trying to get the fit right.

I'm catching up on your vlogmas videos (which I've deliberately been slacking on because I wanted to look forward to the treat of binging them). Just want to say thank you for justifying daydreaming and planning for projects that may never materialize! This is something I beat myself up over at times, because my dreams are bigger than my time. I also love how you use your makers journal - I'm going to try that for 2024! Thanks for everything Tazhi, you're amazing ❤

Love the mola. As far as sewing with wool, do yourself a favour and try it. Nothing is more forgiving than 100% wool for sewing, this is one of the reasons why it is the top choice for tailored suits. So long as you avoid sewing a super fine and drapey wool on the bias, you should be fine. When sewing with wool, the iron is your best friend and steam is key for pressing down seams and folds, but you need to let the piece dry or beat the moisture out, or the pressing is undone. Try it for a skirt, you will enjoy it.

This is really good to know and already makes me feel so much more equipped to tackle a wool skirt in the near future.

Another fractal-spinning fan here! My favorite kind of spin. Watching the colors bob and weave together in a "semi-controlled" way is my favorite part. And I LOVE your woodsy/cottagecore/jaunty-lad aesthetic! It's long, flowy paisley (or similar/intricate pattern) skirts for me. I don't sew, but my mom does, and she once made me this amazing ren-faire costume with bodice that I WISH I still had. 😍

I would love to add flowy skirts to my wardrobe - I was always too tall for rtw maxi skirts and now that I can make my own clothes, I need to add more breezy and long skirts to my own closet.

Your assessment of annual vs quarterly goals is something I need to come to terms with myself. Almost none of the 2022 leftover goals (projects) were attained in 2023. My desires completely changed after I learned how to knit socks this past year.

Other makers mentioned your name and Tashi is a typical tibetan name. And i live in a tibetan refugee community in india. And loved the idea of a tibetan woman having a fiber podcast. So, they used to make headbands that were just giant regular hair elastics, that might work for your bun situation if you can find them. Your sewing and wardrobe additions just seem somewhat magical to me because sewing machines scare the crap outta me. They all seems to cohesive, as you point out because of your colour palette and fabric choices. I need to turn my brain to thinking about that stuff.
