And at 100 hours I had crazy amounts of spaghetti and nothing was efficient if it even worked at all. Enjoy the adventure, the learning never really stops for this game. Good luck!

  • @moo121
    @moo12115 күн бұрын

    The inside of the curve will definitely have some clipping although the overlap should be pretty small. I try to stick to fairly gentle turns. If you try to make it a sharper turn the clipping gets really noticeable though. With the blueprint they should snap together in default mode pretty easily and be aligned. Blueprint mode won’t work unless you nudge it into place.

    Can you explain agin why you do the mk5 belt first then the lower tier belt. Shouldn’t it work with just the lower tier belt

  • @moo121
    @moo12124 күн бұрын

    Absolutely, that’s a great question. If the incoming mk5 belt was full you are correct and I could just use the lower tier. But since it has a good bit less, it will have gaps on the belt. Sometimes those gaps will then show up on the lower belts and they won’t have the full amount I’m counting on. With the section of faster belt first it’ll be able to grab the items quicker and make up for those gaps but still be limited by the slower belt speed past that. Hope that makes sense.

    Good, someone who does load balancing, I'm wondering if belt speed matters, not 100% yet, but does feel like it sometimes or I made a tiny mistake somewhere with belt rating or math error or a one of the components takes too long to be created so others just fills up one source too fast. For example oscillator manufacturing, plates takes relatively longer time to be made, maybe doesn't come in fast enough, for some reason. I don't know.

  • @moo121
    @moo12125 күн бұрын

    Thanks for the question. I think I know what you’re talking about. Belt speed matters as a minimum. If you need to move 100 parts you can’t have a mk1 anywhere but if you want to use mk3-5 they will just move faster and you’ll have bigger gaps on the belt. I like to use the minimum belt needed so the gaps are small and it’s easier to tell if they are too big and something is wrong. There are a number of the later items that one part will finish a whole lot sooner and faster belts may help if they have a far distance to travel. I usually set up an awesome sink for the fast item until the other parts show up, then delete it and connect the belt. Or I’ll just take out the full stack from the machine until the belts aren’t stuttering anymore. Good luck!

    At 7:44, I cannot rotate the catwalk like in the video. When I hold ctrl it spins the catwalk in place, it doesn't notch it to different angles. I've seen others do this in other videos and for the life of me, haven't been able to figure out why I can't. Any ideas?

  • @moo121
    @moo121Ай бұрын

    That’s a good question! I played around with the catwalks and I did notice they only rotate when you hold ctrl and look at a mid point of the side of another catwalk crossing. They don’t rotate off foundations. If that doesn’t help there is another method of rotating that actually gives smaller increments and smoother turns. kzread.info/dash/bejne/o6Bsj8lrn5rddsY.htmlsi=WyRjQ5_Bbj15DjP4 DC is another fantastic creator that I’ve learned a lot from.

    Out of interest, do the angled train track foundations eventually match up with the world grid? Essentially creating a perfect right angle turn?

  • @moo121
    @moo121Ай бұрын

    That’s a fantastic question and thanks for asking, I wanted to talk about this. When using the catwalk crossing and you scroll to change the angle, it moves 10 degrees each time. So each of the blueprints will turn 10 degrees and 9 together will get you a nice 90 degree turn. It will be aligned with the global grid BUT it won’t be on it. It’ll be a few meters off in each direction.

    Why the use of power tower if the stations transfer power? And Great Video!

  • @moo121
    @moo121Ай бұрын

    Thank you so much! That’s a great question. One of the nice things about load balancing all my factories is that everything is clocked to the exact amount so all machines should be 100% efficient. That makes my consumption and max consumption exactly the same and it stays a nice steady flat line. I wanted to use trains but they wouldn’t keep those nice flat lines. So my trains and other things that might turn off and on, like overflow sinks, are all running on my first coal power plant to keep it separate. And the power towers carry my main power grid across the world.

    I love your blueprint series! there was a blueprint I saw once, dont remember where, but it was a road that was a 45 degree corner, so you could use 2 in order to get a perfect 90 degree corner. EDIT: for the down ramp, maybe if you created a specific down ramp blueprint, it would be easier to snap since it would start at the top? I dont know maybe im wrong I havent tried it.

  • @moo121
    @moo121Ай бұрын

    Thank you so much! For trains making a 90 degree turn, easiest is to go 3 foundations forward and 3 to the right or left. You can make it smaller. I think the tightest is 17m instead of the 24m that 3 foundations is. So you can totally make some 90 degree turns in the blueprinter. I just have a hard time making that sharp of a turn look good. The ramps and snapping are tricky. I’ll try again, maybe you can add a temp beam to snap to and then delete. Thanks for the suggestion.

  • @marcbennett9232
