  @@brendamalloy6259 Thank you. The JJ caught my attention and as that's my first two names. I have a Vihuala 12 string (actual 10 string with one drone and a dummy peg.) with the gut fretting that I want to learn as I'm an acoustic guitarist. It looks like a baroque guitar but it's not. So you've quite inspired me I'm guessing it's in guitar tuning. Good luck and keep posting.

  Thank you for your kind words. It's a lute and tuned as a lute but you could play it on your guitar by changing the pitch by a half step on one of your strings. The tablature would be available on Sarge Gerbode's wonderful website 'accessible lute music'. Thanks for listening and good luck with your endeavors.

  It's not very old. I have a letter from a musicologist from the School of Scottish Studies.. where they state quite clearly that it is 20th century in style. Also the college of piping sent a letter dated 1967, where they state it is modern. No trace of it can be found of it earlier than c 1958, and no recorded version until 1962's BBC TV series, when the title was changed for the TV series.

  They're all over the house. We're supposed to throw them into the fire a year after Brigid's day, but I can never bring myself to do it. They make me think of the friends who made them.
