Harold (Pops) Daryn (Capt Dee) and the swamp dog Tucker enjoying Louisiana outdoors, camping on our houseboat. Fishing, crabbing, cooking, boating, and other adventures. We built our off-grid houseboat so that we could be out on the lake and back bayous of the Cajun swamps. With a few DYI projects and building our houseboat from the ground up.

Looking good! Moves pretty well, look out dem frogs won’t stand a chance 👍✌️
@@GJCAMPING hoping to get it dialed in. Just need to keep making small adjustments
Glad you're getting it narrowed down.
@mm37too we are trying and thinking and trying. Hopefully it will get dial in soon
Hey Pop ,you definitely need some weight in the front for sure. Turning 3100 RPMS isn't really bad. But I do know being that your running direct drive you would have a hard time doing that on sbc . I don't know if they turn that many on a aircraft motor. Boat looks good and you have really done a great job, have a great time with the boat.
@jamessnuffer5239 yeap I did bring everything up 3". I'm hoping that I can correct the trouble by moving things around. I'm going to keep tuning and listening to ideals
@@BoondockingCajunstyle it might seem to be a little bit of a headache but you could move your gas tank to the front of the boat...I don't think you will get anymore rpms.turning those kind of rpms on a direct drive is probably it.
@jamessnuffer5239 I could probably test by installing a temp tank in the front if I can find the place. If I can get the rpm up more into the power band, it would be great.
Enjoyed it Harold. Glad you got it running

@micahdysart6325 we are going to get everything back on track soon I hope
Nice job! That’s some nice welding on those anchor brackets. No doubt about it y’all be back out on the water in no time ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
@@lutherprince9304 hopefully real soon. Don't know how long it's going to take to get the overhang up The Ole harbor freight welder was maxed out. Had to put the heat on
@@BoondockingCajunstyle The overhang should help tremendously with the heat on the outside walls
@lutherprince9304 that is the main reason for it. It's a little more weight than the gutters. Still should be ok. That and when we walk around it we will be covered out of the sun and rain
Hard working man you are...along with your regular job...time must pass fast for you...thanks for sharing.
@craigh3381 this is my main job, health issues has me very limited. Time does pass by super fast. Thank you for watching and commenting
Always maintenance to be done but it’s looking good the added over hang should be nice, y’all be careful in this heat,👍✌️
@GJCAMPING the heat is nothing nice. Only concern I have about the over hang is rain coming off of the roof into my boat. It's self bailing so it should be ok
Pressure washing an aluminum hull is hard but using aluminum Brite does it eat the aluminum up ??
@davidasimkosr4641 it will if mixed too strong and left on for too long. I'm out of time so I'm not able to clean it anymore than what it is. Thank you for watching and commenting
Отличная работа! У нас в России принято желать здоровья.Здоровья,Вам!
Boat Maintenance Never Ends Eh? The way you re enforced that anchor should do nice. Thumbs as always guys!
@marklivingston7324 I think it will hold much better. I've also been tieing the front down. What happened was a Strom came from the front and the anchors are on the back. When the wind tried to spin it the opposite direction, the anchor refused to break loose, so it got all bent up. As always thank you for watching and commenting

@tazmun just as soon as we get the houseboat back on the water, we do have plans for a little different adventure. I think that you will enjoy. Thank you for the comment, we will do our best to get back, Capt Dee is more than ready

@davidasimkosr4641 we enjoyed each other's company and just relaxed. That was the first time cooking chicken on this pit and I was surprised that it turned out so go. Crispy and flavorful.
Hopefully all you have to do is just maintenance and nothing else on the houseboat. Always enjoy your content and relaxes me i wished I was doing that also. Looking forward to the update on the mini ,really good work and attention on the build. Hope you mommy had a great 4th of July and have a blessed week
One of the anchors are in need of some attention. Had one that was holding so well during a storm that it twisted the brackets that hold it in place. Hopefully all of the frames that hold the pontoons together are all in good shape
I loved the timelapse, curious how fast was it?
@@micahdysart6325 I'm not sure. It's the gopro 7 that I used. I'm going to have to look it up.

You da MAN !!!
Just out of curiosity, why do you have the adjustment between the rudders? My airboat rudders are bolted to a solid bar. I dont see any reason to adjust them
Just to get all of them tuned together. Once all are aligned they will be locked into place. These little boats need all the help they can get
I'm looking forward to the next video
I'm thinking that I will have most everything adjusted and will have video on the water. Just going to take some time with shipping to and from
Amazing job. But you sound sucks.
Sorry Harold for your disappointment ..but we know you will achieve your goal...thanks for sharing .
Thank you. Just part of the game, we definitely going to get everything worked out
Btw.. A great looking fabrication Sr.
Thank you very much appreciated
No discouragement! No need to move everything. Extend the hull by Boxing in behind the transom and make it a small tool storage area wit some diamond plate doors on top.
Already in the process of moving the engine stand and redoing the cage. No discouragement, honestly I was expecting it to be this way
@@BoondockingCajunstyle yes Sr. That’s usually the way it goes. So many things to consider fabing a boat, especially with weight distribution and displacement. You almost got it whooped though, won’t be long and you’ll be flying across the water in it.
@@professional4u we are definitely looking for that.
mann thats a bad mamajama ! ive never seen someone do this, cant wait to see where it takes you out there
If I can tweak this thing into running as well as it looks, I'm gonna be really happy. Thank you for watching and commenting
Would adding ballast (lead) in the bow balance the boat easier than shifting everything?
I'm sorry I didn't see this comment. I do have several hundred pounds of lead. That maybe could help. These little boats are extremely weight sensitive. It is a lot of work to move everything but, it is something that needs to be done. Thank you for watching and commenting.
@@BoondockingCajunstyle You're welcoma and thanks for showing your work. Watching you makes all my projects seem way less difficult.
You need a nissan titan....best made in American
They are nice, but I do like the f150
You have done a fantastic job! Nothing to be sorry about. Like most things we build from the ground up they are things that we have to tweek. You will get it done I’m sure. Looks really nice!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Most definitely true. I'm not the type of person that is scared to admit to something of my work, needing to be done better
You could get away with two rudders id bet.
I strongly consider that. The consideration that one engine may break down. With 4 rudders I would have a better chance of some control.
@@BoondockingCajunstyle with that low hp, one rudder will do more than enough work. Should have done two 22s. Negligible weight difference
@@jayyep6974 pair of 22s would be interesting,
Awesome video, very satisfying to watch you grind through the metal.
Gotta make them sparks fly. Almost finish with the build
When I saw the linkages between the rudders, I knew something was up. I felt like that wasn't going to last long. On the bright side you have the entire frame finished and the schematics set up so it shouldn't be too long before you get the boat working properly.
I made the rod too short, where that the rod end bearing wasn't threaded in enough plus I didn't lock the jam nut. They all will be rebuilt so that ot is threaded in more.
Harold you are doing one amazing job on the Mini Air boat. Can't wait to see it out on the water.
I believe once I make these few changes it's going to be all good.

This is the 2nd video I've seen on this Yama. There is no shift linkage? You just drop the lower unit?
There is a shift linkage. There is a yoke that the lower linkage slips into. It just slips out and back in. Thank you for watching
😅Glad Tuckers ok. I have a 65 lb Pit-Boxer who wants to attack the storm😂
