Cajun off-grid Houseboating

Ойын-сауық

Few days on the houseboat, camping, fishing, crabing and cooking. we set out 6 crab traps in patout bayou just off of vermilion bay in south Louisiana. Doing a crab boil from the crabs we caught. Lots of good fishing with Capt Dee catching many nice size catfish. Gabbie came out for a day to do some fishing with us, she also did a good job of catching catfish. Life on the off grid houseboat is always an adventure. Capt Dee caught what at first look to be a very mad water moccasin but after closer look it look to be more of a large fish snake. We had one night that brought in the mayflies, which made fishing fun. I hook onto a couple nice catfish on my crappie pole, very much a fun fight. I lost a few of Dee's fish, she wasn't happy about that, so we need to find a old crawfish trap to use a live fish holder. Meet a couple of young gentlemen that had jug lines out close by, in which they caught a couple 40lb catfish. all in all we had a successful trip. thanks for coming alone on our off-grid boondocking cajunstyle adventures.

    Seems like the horizontal guides at the back of your boat-trailer work better that the typical vertical guides I see on most trailers. I've been pricing guides online but now I think I'll look for or make your type.

  • @BoondockingCajunstyle

    @BoondockingCajunstyle

    2 ай бұрын

    The guides really work well, all I need to do is get the bow inside and the trailer does the rest. Also the way the hull is built with the trailer being an exact match helps a lot. At the same time you can't back the trailer too deep into the water. I think there are some that you can buy, but I think building would take the abuse much better. I built the boat and the trailer to match each other. If you do go this route, pay attention if your bow running lights are mounted on the sides of the boat. Thanks for watching and commenting, it is very much appreciated

    Thank you very much for subscribing. The flats boat and the houseboat I built them myself. Gonna have to try using eel for cut bait. The eel didn't work really well in the crab trap, it will work if you don't have anything else. Old catfish heads work great for crab traps. Thanks for watching and commenting
