It can skip a generation is so accurate. And then ...there's Worcester.
Neither one of these movies are worth paying for
Absolutely loved this movie!
When will the draft start?? 🤨
I agree that this film was not a flattering portrayal of Andrew McCarthy. I don’t understand why he did it. It feels that he’s making it about him and I agree that he was tertiary to those that went on to have more successful careers. My big take away as someone who was in the age demographic and grew up watching the films when they were released was that Andrew McCarthy as a person is not that different from the roles he is known for. Both Blaine in Pretty in Pink and the character he plays in St. Elmo’s Fire are the whiny, overly sensitive guy that is somewhat of an outsider among his peers, but not in a likable way. Why was he surprised when Malcolm Gladwell say he was Team Duckie? Who has ever been Team Blaine?
Best golf movie? Happy Gilmore, you guys suck at your jobs.
Amanda, you have a microphone why are you constantly yelling
Amanda, Thirteen Days is not set before the Bay of Pigs. It’s the Cuban missile crisis
I saw them both on Friday and liked them very much. I'm all in on Horizon 2 because you rarely see westrerns on the big screen and it was beautifully shot. And the last microsecond shot of Day One...WOW.
I've watched The Town twice probably. But i've watched The Town Rewatchables at least 20 times.
The fact that you idiots watch all those other shit random movies again but couldn’t just ask to borrow my Mr brooks blue ray is crazy
997 Sport Classic brought back the RWD Turbo
Amanda Dobbins is my hero.
also mission impossible >>>>>>> james bond
Horizon has its flaws but I'm glad costner still wants to tackle a western.
no time to die clears
I don't know about the people in these comments, but I agree with this video. It was very awkward and uncomfortable.
Believe part two will be better. Part one just setting it up.
They blew the bridges to isolates the aliens on the island since they can't swim.
overrated af movie
Adult Smalls plays Red Sox owner John Henry in Moneyball
Yo, Sean fuck The Rewatchables. Please sit down with Cee-Ahhh and talk about Apocalypse Now.
Sea of Love is basically just a color, neo NOIR with more sex. I can't believe that none of the panelists even mentioned the genre "noir" during the podcast, when this is so obviously a progeny of that genre that started in the 1930s, peaked in 1940-50s, and lingered around until about the mid-60s---someone who's more of a film historian like Chris Ryan OUGHT to have known that and mentioned if not discussed it at least a little bit. Even though Ellen Barkin was a misdirection femme fatale, the movie played it up to the fullest until the "twist" ending. Also, films about the Ms. Lonely Heart theme have been mad as well as famous novels with exactly that title and theme (Nathanael West), and yet CR didn't know about it and proposed it as an alternative title--WTH?! Even Rear Windows mentioned it!
“Inherent misogyny of this country…”? Go F yourself, Wesley.
Each movie cost 50 million its four movies made for 200 million. Dont know why u act weird most movies cost 250+ million to make one movie Kevin Costner made four for his money. Wrong its 200 million for four movies k do your research.
He has only made 2 so far and most movies don't cost that much, only big popcorn blockbusters cost 200 million
Yeah people just don't read. 50 million for a western is a very acceptable budget. Let's just hope it will turn a tiny profit so he gets to finish it.
Pls dump Wes. Terrible takes.
Den may or may not have rewatchable scenes, but it's not a good film. It's clearly a vastly inferior ripoff of Heat, with inferior acting/actors, writing, direction, and implausible action scenes, including the opening. The supposed Los Angeles setting isn't LA, and didn't even look ANYTHING like LA! The movie should've been retitled "Den of Heat Ripoff". No police department, not even the LAPD, will engage in huge fights willy nilly on the fly with armed gangs....also, the ripping off to-be-destroyed-old-bills concept has been done previously, so I'm a bit surprised that Simmons didn't know about this. There are Federal Reserve Banks in LA (and many other big cities), so it's obvious that the "half-ass internet research" done by CR didn't cover that, nor did even the filmmakers bothered to research the actual research on Fed Reserve security. The movie is just completely unrealistic.
They both say they like A quiet place then basically for 20 mins nit pick it and bitch…. Btw Amanda sucks
Its gonna be four movies f everyone its awesome. F society.
How long have you been a fan of mine my dear??
more CR, good episode!
Why does Amanda spazz out at least once every podcast
I did not enjoy A Quiet Place Day One at all
I don’t know which Tom Hanks movie is best, but I do know which one is the most underrated. Road to perdition
'Deep Cover' ...come on guys. It's time
So Costner took a risk on himself. Good for him. Whether its good or not is up for debate. But at least its not another CGI superhero sludgefest. Or another video game adaptation, and thank christ its not another Disney Star Wars.
OMG, The Bodyguard is on a short list of all-time worst movies ever made.
"Beginng-k" "Threatening-k"
Once you hear it, you can't hear it.
I was excited about seeing an R-Rated western in a movie theater. As for the movie itself, I'll give it 7/10. I'm on the fence about part two, but will likely go see it in August.
Perfect rating. There are a couple really great scenes that genuinely had my full interest. It was the in between stuff that was a little rough in my opinion.
Field of Dreams is complete sentimental, stupid, maudlin nonsensical crap. I do not understand the love.
the best part of them meeting Shute was Shute's response to them..."I hope so too"...he's a standup guy who isn't the typical villian...doesn't try to cheat, doesn't look for an angle...just accepts what he is and is what he is...villians aren't typically written like that
how can anyone be against filmmakers taking risks? old or young, man or woman, to me it's an objectively positive thing.
Agree a trillion percent. Now more than ever we should be thrilled there are artists willing to do this.
I am with you, but there is a tiny piece of me that's like... damn, we might never see these guys take another swing if this bombs. They may not be allowed to, they may not even be able to afford to. With that said, Costner is 69 years old. I have no idea if he has the "I make movies until I die" mindset, but if not, he probably knows he doesn't have plans to make too many more movies and is willing to hedge the remainder of his career on something like this.
❤
Open Range is incredible. Molly's Game is fun, Costner is barely in it, Amanda's take is weird.
"It could make a lot of money for them over time" Well sure I guess, but so would investing $40 million in the market.
Costner should not be indulged in any way
Neither should every other director or producer but every now and then a project becomes an all time great that way
Grand acteur
Ya I think these older guys are just not good anymore. Sure they made good films in the past but not anymore. Ridley Scott is another director who hasn’t made a good movie since gladiator. Scorsese recent movies have been mid as well. Gladiator 2 has a budget of over 300. Insane how they still give them that type of money. It has to make close to a billion to be a success.
Haha calling any of the new Scorsese movies mid is ridiculous.
You don’t even think Black Hawk Down, American Gangster, Body of Lies and The Martian were good movies?
@@rigsby1454 when was his last true masterpiece. I’m talking like a really really good movies. His recents are ok but nothing special.
@@Zeppelin180 napoleon house of Gucci Ferrari were all box office bimbs
Since what?
All these films suck
It's the Movie BUSINESS. The filmmaker has a responsibility to the studio and investors to make a movie that will attract an audience and turn a PROFIT. You shouldn't spend $150 Mil to make a vanity project.
Art isn’t about profit
My understanding is that Costner was the “studio” and the “investor”, so he made the movie that “they” wanted.
Uh no. There are tons of great films that do poorly at the box office and many terrible movies that made bank. Transformers 4 is a truly awful movie and it was the highest grossing movie of 2014
Pet Cemetery, if I'm not mistaken, is also built on a native burial ground.
In Canada it is the best sports movie of all time. In Quebec it is legend.
