Turn up the volume and wait for the band to kick in after the mandolin and melodica intro. It never gets old after all these years.

I owned a 1972 Impala in 1986 and I was the most popular human trafficker in my high school on Friday nights at the drive-in. I could fit 6 people and couple cases beer in that trunk. Can't remember one movie that we ever watched.

From Wikipedia - "Eric Bazilian told the Chicago Tribune in 1985 that he didn't know the meaning of the song despite having written it. "People ask us what it's about ... the weird thing is we didn't consciously put [the heavy stuff] there." Hyman later told Songfacts that the biblical images, including Moses and Noah, were not part of any agenda, though some radio stations refused to play it. "I love songs like that, you just listen and every time you hear it you kind of wonder what's going on."

Supposedly, Eric Bazillian and Robbie Hyman formed the band while Eric was attending Penn. Then Dave Ossykanen joined with the others and that is how The Hooters were formed. The Hooters still perform but being the fact that Eric and his wife and family live in Sweden, it would be difficult for the original members to get together.
