Thanks, saw in the amazon comments that someone wore the thumb loop in a lift and broke it. They had me thinking I was suppose to lift with it. Thanks for correcting me before a lift.

does this apply also for lifting hooks? or does hooks limit the grip range?

Was this guy for real? He can't use a wrist wrap...he can't use a strap also. There's a right hand and a left hand strap. PERIOD! The straps must lay between the index finger and the thumb. This guy is wearing one strap correctly and the other one wrong! Because he looped both straps the same way. Some people do things wrong all their lives. Problems happen when they teach things wrong.

Stupid VIDEO...how the hell is that wrist wrap supposed to do its proper job if you wear the left hand wrap on you right hand????? STUPID! That is why you get that loop so stretched. It's on the wrong side of the thumb..

As you lower the bar, the hamstrings have to stretch. When the bar is at the lowest point, the hamstrings are stretched as much as much as they will during this exercise. The completely lowered bar position is also the point at which you put the maximal contraction on the hamstrings in order to start the lift back to the top. You have a very hard stretch and max contraction happening simultaneously and this is a recipe for an injury. My suggestion is to start with no weight on the bar and add gradually each day you do Romanians. DO bend your knees somewhat, DO NOT try to keep your knees locked. Do not try to stretch the muscles as you would if you were working on your flexibility with a yoga exercise without weight. Concentrate on flexing the hamstrings and having flawless form instead of having a lot of weight. I've been weightlifting for 40 years and this is the only exercise where I have suffered an injury. I have naturally tight hamstrings and a long torso so both are against me in this exercise but other than leg curls, I can't think of anything else that isolates the hamstrings.
