Hi there this is Mark, the owner of Rip Toned Fitness...
Those of us who train in the gym know a
PR to be a Personal Record of the most weight lifted on a particular lift.
Right now people around the world are all facing a “lift” that is heavier and more challenging than any number of “plates” we can put on a bar and stare down in the gym.
The COVID-19 virus has temporarily changed the world we’ve known in a very short period of time.
As diverse as our world is, in these past few short weeks the lives of our global family have become much more similar then usual... Together we are practicing Self isolation... consuming news updates and tracking social media... daily routines have grinded to a halt... little to no travel... constant concern for our safety and of our loved ones.
Millions worldwide are looking for answers and wondering how to fill their day.
My challenge to myself is how do I lift the weight of my current life and not get crushed by it.
Right now i challenge you to join me in hitting our ultimate PR together...
How do we Keep Fit... Stay Sane... while Making a Difference on Lock Down?
Unless you have a home gym those of us who pursue physical fitness need to get creative and find a way to move our bodies and keep fit.
Watching the news is important to stay educated. However spending hours per day refreshing and obsessing is not helping anyone.
We now more than ever need to “train” our minds and not just our body. Healthy mental stimulation is critical right now. Read a book. Take an online course. Study new areas in your field of expertise or pursue a new field.
I opened my fridge this morning and it was mostly full. My eyes welled up with tears of gratitude. I encourage you to Stay positive as best you can and find little things to be grateful for.
Focus on self care
Focus on care of your loved ones
Focus on your mental game
Things like breathing
Getting outside regularly
Move your body
Do some body weight exercises
Find a rafter to do pull ups
Curl a bag of potatoes
Yoga
Meditation
Exercise your mind... use a phone app to learn a new language... pursue learning a new interest or hobby you never had time to before
Get proper sleep
Stay Hydrated
Also I challenge you be a leader in encouraging your loved ones and those in your circle of influence to do the same. FaceTime or text your friends, workout partners, your co workers or employees and challenge them to keep active physically and mentally while self isolating.
Not only do these suggestions help pass the time but they also help strengthen our immune system.
