No win situation on this. They only delivered half of the Darkest Dungeon board game. They then have started delivering part of 6:Siege using the money from this game to finish off making the second half of Darkest Dungeon. They are probably doing the sales on their website of 6:Siege to afford shipping for their their current Kickstarter customers. So many moving pieces and everything has to go just right but hopefully people that paid can get some of their games.

How easy is it to expand and increase your money supply 12 doesn't seem like much. You can see the cost of troops and 12 is like one full infantry and not even a Calvary. 12 isn't a lot given the cost of those troops and other things. I also don't see spending on turn order unless you have a lot of extra later in the game. I see parts of this game being things you will find yourself tightly limited and feeling that burn. Talk me out of it Gimpy Gamer. You played that game.

@andykaufman7620 each zone you capture grants you more income each turn. The more you control the more money you make each turn. The limit will be higher on the ships since they are the ones that cost the most.

I'm stuck in Darkest Dungeon hell. At this point I'm just counting it as lost money and moving on. I got called out by King of Average for wishing Mythic all the best of luck getting cancer. I still wish that curse on them but other than that they aren't worth the time.

Enemy Action was so good in so many ways, but that chit system drove me insane one too many times and I had to get rid of the game. I had some late-game mega-combat that involved pulling something like 13 chits and the net result was that nothing happened and my head popped a little bit and now my hats don't fit the same anymore.

Maybe it was just me, but Enemy Action Kharkov felt a little less swingy like that. Like it had more punch to it. Might be worth taking a look if you like Ardenne but want something a little different

Sadly, even the advice you offer on protecting yourself doesn't always work. Level 99, DVG, and the notorious Valley Games (yay on D-Dice 1st edition, which went well, then screwed people on both Airborne in Your Pocket and Up Front) all went to pot for various reasons. So past success isn't a protection. I don't trust third party reviewers, because they receive prototypes that aren't final versions. A scammer can invest a little money into sending prototypes and collect money on the final product that they may never deliver. Funny this video appeared, because I just received a package that delivered for the Myth Journeyman miniatures that arrived 10 years too late. Another company bought the rights to the game and promised to fulfill the Kickstarter that the original company that tanked didn't produce. Ulisses Spiele are heroes. My practice is to simply wait and purchase the Kickstarter editions when they hit eBay or the other secondary markets. You pay a little more, but you avoid the wait and know you're getting something that's already available.

Nothing will ever be absolutely fool proof. Even good companies can turn things around and grab defeat from the jaws of Victory. I don't get anything from DVG anymore myself for the same reasons. A little while back I found out from someone wanting to remain confidential that UpFront had the chance to deliver to their backers, but chose to fail instead. No idea why, but my guess is because the company willing to save them from failure wasn't willing to put more money in his pocket. Truly horrible on his part. Disagree with you on prototypes. People might not realize this, but prototypes are extremely expensive. Anywhere between 500-1k depending on quality and size. It's because only a few are made so there is no bulk production to keep costs down. If a company is investing thousands into a few prototypes to send to independent reviewers then that should still inspire confidence. The safest option is waiting until they are produced to get the game, but unfortunately that can be the most expensive option depending on who is selling the copy. I've lucked out a few times on ebay, but that's rare.

Paypal saved my money on the Heroes of Normandie Pacific Kickstarter. Backed one from Flying Pig, a couple from Worthington OK. I have one out with Capsicum Games, Fighters of Europe currently, but it'll be the last one I back that is not from a trusted company like Flying Pig or Worthington. There are plenty of companies I wouldnt hesitate to kickstart if I wanted to, despite having been burnt twice. I was heavy into Spartan Games Dystopian Wars when they went under and I lost close to $300. I lost roughly $200 again on Rallyman Dirt when Holy Grail Games collapsed. Then again aside from these two failed ones ive must have kicked a dozen others that did deliver, sometimes a bit late but that is to be expected. I think instead of disregarding kickstarter altogether, instead read up on the company and its history before doing it. It baffles me that anyone would ever back Mythic Games on anything anymore, on the other hand I wouldnt hesitate to back anything from Leder Games or Werhlegig.

As it stands I'm out of pocket by a not insubstantial amount of money courtesy of Mythic and their business practices. As it stands I don't expect to see anything from the KS I backed from Mythic. I would try to contact Kickstarter but they make it clear they won't get involved, despite the fact that numerous companies conduct themselves in ways that screw people over by attempting to spin plates. Mythic should be subject to prosecution in a court of law for fraud in my opinion and whatever else could be thrown at them.

Both are good. Two has as much content as it's going to get. Three will have future releases so if ongoing support is important to you I would go with 3. Either way wait for a steam sale

You can fit all the counters in 2 Cube4Me 20 compartment trays. 1 8mm thick and the other 15mm thick and fit all components in the box. With the lid closing completely. You'll even have some empty compartments to spare. I just finished clipping and sorting. perfect fit.

You don't need all of the rules to play that game. Many of them deal with specific races/ships. To play the "Advanced" game, which would include air power, chemicals, engineers, etc., you need to digest this rule book and the playbook.

Even when it seems Napoleon's ideas won out in the end (that's another debate that resists simple explanations), people still copied the blueprint the Congress created to achieve international cooperation.

Hey Gimpy excellent job as always! The game looks amazing, and Just BEAUTIFUL I am sure a lot of demanding work as well. However, WHAT A BUMMER! I would have SO MUCH LOVED to have seen Napoleonic Wars???? Europe is Ravaged 3+ Millon dead and now more WAR??? Ummmmm? Darn, Darn again would I have loved to see Napoleonic. Thats just my thoughts would have loved 1805-1815. What a Bummer!!! I am sure the KS will Burst on this one as it looks Gorgeous, that neoprene map of Europe wow! :)

Diplomacy seems like more of a cool addition to the game if u look at how it would be played 2 players, more or less like a risk style game u could take the diplomacy aspect and either remove it to not worry about it or modify it to ur liking, house rules. Like only allowing certain deals and such with certain time frames. Seems like altogether a risk on steroids in a sense and I don’t like risk for its basic aspects so this game would seem interesting. But just a thought

Also, it must not have been stressed enough in the video… …This game is an alternative history which starts after Napoleon’s exile, so the southeastern European history of which you speak DOES NOT HAPPEN necessarily. Also, Game designers understand that adding extra area easily accessible to Austria gives a player starting there an unfair advantage. 🙂

Note that a 2 player game of Imperial Borders is entirely possible (even preferable to some)....this removes any backstabbing entirely... only front-stabbing! it becomes more chess-like in the anticipation of enemy movements.

This will be a longer game. If everyone knows the rules then you can speed up by doing a lot simultaneously. There are a bunch of phases to a turn and a minimum 6 turns so it will take a while

I think instead of disregarding kickstarter altogether, instead read up on the company and its history before doing it. It baffles me that anyone would ever back Mythic Games on anything anymore, on the other hand I wouldnt hesitate to back anything from Leder Games or Werhlegig.
There's only 3 companies i support on KS now: Mantic Games, DVG Games, and Flying Pig Games

As it stands I'm out of pocket by a not insubstantial amount of money courtesy of Mythic and their business practices. As it stands I don't expect to see anything from the KS I backed from Mythic. I would try to contact Kickstarter but they make it clear they won't get involved, despite the fact that numerous companies conduct themselves in ways that screw people over by attempting to spin plates. Mythic should be subject to prosecution in a court of law for fraud in my opinion and whatever else could be thrown at them.

I didn’t even know dungeon bowl was part of the game. I want to get into blood bowl and trying to decide between 2 or 3 and can’t seem to make up my mind. I’m leaning more toward 2 though.
Both are good. Two has as much content as it's going to get. Three will have future releases so if ongoing support is important to you I would go with 3. Either way wait for a steam sale
After watching a 45 min video I had to Google this game to actually see the entire map.........

Can you do multiple attacks by the same unit ? There's an online version of this game, but you can't do multiple attacks like that.

You can fit all the counters in 2 Cube4Me 20 compartment trays. 1 8mm thick and the other 15mm thick and fit all components in the box. With the lid closing completely. You'll even have some empty compartments to spare. I just finished clipping and sorting. perfect fit.
this one is going to be tough to swallow. I think I'll stick with TRL's Less Than 60 Miles/Dogs of War/etc.... I'll watch the You tuber's struggle and then probably sell this one. My life is too short to read 200 plus pages of rules for one game.
Thank you for these videos, I almost bought this game, but this has been really illuminating. There is zero decisions in this game, just dice rolls. I am not sure it can even be called a game.
If you want something with more choice check out American Tank Ace. That's one of my favorites and has plenty of choice. I've got up a series on it

You don't need all of the rules to play that game. Many of them deal with specific races/ships. To play the "Advanced" game, which would include air power, chemicals, engineers, etc., you need to digest this rule book and the playbook.
The Congress of Vienna was not so successful, it actually led to another wave of revolutions that re-established all the reformations of the French Revolution that Napoleon's enemies tried to revert. Napoleon won the war of ideas.
However, what it WAS successful at doing was creating a blueprint for states, in particular their leaders, to convene and settle disputes that would guarantee peace. Before the Congress, European monarchs only made peace one-on-one through middleman ambassadors. After the Congress, international diplomacy is almost unimaginable without having leaders and representatives of states gather together in person to sort things out. Even when it seems Napoleon's ideas won out in the end (that's another debate that resists simple explanations), people still copied the blueprint the Congress created to achieve international cooperation.

This is just the gamiest game. A luxurious and egotistical amount of rules and bits. Unless you have 3 do or die grodnaeds like how do you even play this?
You are not wrong... but then again... it's actually a lot lighter (rules-wise) than what I would consider a heavy war game.
Don't know if you play Elden Ring, but I am the embodiment of "let me solo her". I will find a way to solo any game😁
Hey Gimpy excellent job as always! The game looks amazing, and Just BEAUTIFUL I am sure a lot of demanding work as well. However, WHAT A BUMMER! I would have SO MUCH LOVED to have seen Napoleonic Wars???? Europe is Ravaged 3+ Millon dead and now more WAR??? Ummmmm? Darn, Darn again would I have loved to see Napoleonic. Thats just my thoughts would have loved 1805-1815. What a Bummer!!! I am sure the KS will Burst on this one as it looks Gorgeous, that neoprene map of Europe wow! :)

Stopped at about 19 minutes in. I hate Diplomacy and will be passing on this one.
Diplomacy seems like more of a cool addition to the game if u look at how it would be played 2 players, more or less like a risk style game u could take the diplomacy aspect and either remove it to not worry about it or modify it to ur liking, house rules. Like only allowing certain deals and such with certain time frames. Seems like altogether a risk on steroids in a sense and I don’t like risk for its basic aspects so this game would seem interesting. But just a thought

No, the map does NOT cover everything. It omits the crucial area of southeastern Europe. What about the long-oppressed Serbians and Greeks? Can't they have their post-Vienna revolts as they launched historically? (And experience the customary Great Power ambivalence and betrayal?)

@@thegimpygamer So the game imagines post-Vienna combat in western Europe that never happened, while omitting lots of combat in southeastern Europe that really did happen. Well, I guess there is a market for the game, but I will choose to pass on it.

Also, it must not have been stressed enough in the video… …This game is an alternative history which starts after Napoleon’s exile, so the southeastern European history of which you speak DOES NOT HAPPEN necessarily. Also, Game designers understand that adding extra area easily accessible to Austria gives a player starting there an unfair advantage. 🙂

Note that a 2 player game of Imperial Borders is entirely possible (even preferable to some)....this removes any backstabbing entirely... only front-stabbing! it becomes more chess-like in the anticipation of enemy movements.

Looking forward to this. What is the timeframe for a turn? What is estimated play time? Bigger is better…never big enough.
This will be a longer game. If everyone knows the rules then you can speed up by doing a lot simultaneously. There are a bunch of phases to a turn and a minimum 6 turns so it will take a while
4-6 hours play time... less than half of the time it takes to play War Room Global (standard ruleset) by our measure.
