    I would love to see you figure out how to put a very small A/C system inside an inline duct fan. It doesn't have to be anything like 8000 btu, but it does need to be able to cool a small space like a dog house. That would be awesome!

    I was wondering if this sort of arrangement would help humidify a greenhouse and keep the temperature in check. Thanks to you I have the answer without doing the experiment. Very useful.

    good idea but a lot of work and the cost , that is a good project for the winter months Yea for now i like the gallon jugs in the freezer in a plastic pan in front of fan that works OK quick and ease not much cost nether dollar 25 for a dish pan at dollar tree, a block of wood in the meddle of pan fan blowing on the out side of the block of ice and their you have it works pretty good, air temp a gout 65 t0 69, works OK,

    Just to clarify - the fan is sucking air through the back, through the damp pad, and blowing it out the front? It's not blowing air through the pad? I used to work overseas in a very dry area and we had these. I now live on the east coast of the USA where it is very humid so the chance of this working is not good. I'm going to pass this along to a friend who lives in an arid climate. Thanks.

  • @desertsun02
    @desertsun02Күн бұрын

    hi there. pad is on back of fan. if you put the pad on the front it acts like a barrier and most of the air won't go through. yes, these struggle to work if the humidity it too high.

    Thank you for sharing all your great ideas… I live where it is very hot and very humid. How would you deal with all the condensation that the transmission cooler would create?

  • @desertsun02
    @desertsun02Күн бұрын

    hi. any condensation will just drop to the bottom of the tube. over time a few drops might run out. i'd say just put a folded paper towel at the end of tube to catch it. (a small sponge might work too)

    Great idea. I was looking for something to use that was cleaner burning. In case of a power outage. I live in a really cold area and don't have a fireplace to rely on. I feel 10 of these on my kitchen table would pump out the heat you know. And probably not kill everyone inside right? Lol

  • @desertsun02
    @desertsun02Күн бұрын

    hi. this alcohol lamp burns fairly cleanly, but for the cleanest burn possible, you might want to look at my 'ethanol blend fuel' alcohol lamp videos. i typically use 'indoor ventless fireplace fuel' in those. that is usually (if not always) an ethanol blend fuel.

    Yeah these are all well and good but I don't have to keep running in and get nice what I'm asking is can I use the ice machine that I have that is a portable ice machine and or the refrigerator that I have the tiny refrigerator take out the element refrigerant elements turn that into an air conditioner using the refrigerant that I would use in a car or something like that I'm not trying to use no ice to make a refrigerator to make a freezer to make an air conditioner I don't want to have to use ice

  • @desertsun02

    How is the sand getting hot? Do you have to heat it on the stove first?

  • @desertsun02
    @desertsun02Күн бұрын

    hi. options for heating the sand vary. lately, i've been looking into various off-grid options (parabolic cookers/fresnel lenses etc.). other 'off grid' options include DC heating elements. 12v ptc elements work well. those can be hooked directly to 12v solar panels or other 12v sources.
