I installed a cb radio for my Autistic son and the noise and hiss was terrible so i put a few clamp on ferrite beads and helped very little! I put my oscilloscope on the power supply and the dc ripple??? Lol. Subbed and liked cheers from Australia ❤

I want to add a bypass capacitor to the output connectors to cut some of the noise out from the PS... but I don't know what size to use.... or what value to use on the cap... anyone have verifiable information as to what value range of capacitor I can use? I see output is supposed to be <150mv RMS....certainly don't want to blow up these damn power supplies.

Happy 4th of July to my American subscribers! I'm very pleased how the end results came out. The original video I had created had only one LED installed but I wasn't pleased with the results. I went back and reedited the video using 2 LED lights and the results were much better.

Came out pretty good myself I run a 1983 cobra 2000. I sent it out. I wanted it recap. My tech told me the caps are not bad do not replace them. The ones from China are not worth a damn. I had it professionally aligned in tune the old radios get it on. he also made a video of it going through the radio. it’s out here on KZread .73 my friend.

I had this antenna It's an Antron 99 Base CB antenna You don't need to worry about your SWR it's already set. It's very well built If I could afford it I'd buy another one. This antenna will send your signal out where no other antenna has gone before.Last time I had one up about 20 feet in the air I talked close to 100 miles on a 4 watt Barefoot CB Mobile radio.I've never transmitted that far out on any other Base CB Antenna.

You never know what is in the case till you crack it open. Some of the worst looking radios I've fooled with cleaned up well and worked, while some others. good looking, were hacked on and really messed up by the previous owners. If this radio hasn't been cobbled up by hackers you have a good shot at repairing it. KR66 James

It was a mess when I received it. Minimal protection for shipping, and it arrived with a bent power/volume knob that broke off. When I opened the case, it was a rusty mess. Luckly, the water did not reach the electronics for the most part. I was able to get it running and was surprised that everything worked well. It's spot on frequency and I'm getting great reports, go figure! I'm putting a video together I hope to have out this weekend. Thanks for watching!

Get a meter and watch your rma power swing backwards at that high of a dead key into that amp. You are totally forgetting about average power (which is usually what fries amps along with I high dead key). Bet it looks horrible on proper equipment. Been using RM Italy amps for years and talk all over the world. On my 203p 25watt dead key, 50-60watts average, 100-125watts PEP. Depending on the radio. But I keep them close as possible to the 1-4 ratio. Hope you don't fry it

People that operate Amateur radio (ham) build an antenna like this for their first antenna build. It all depends on frequency/length of the wires. Simple and very effective! Thanks for sharing.

🐺 Great video brother thanks for sharing. I have the baofeng UV-5R my question is it might be a stupid question lol but keep in mind I'm new to ham radio also I'm just a dumb old country hick lol . Ok here's the question do I need to set the offset to use the baofeng for ham ? The reason I'm asking is every time I set the offset it keeps going back to all zeros why I don't know the offset for mine is 000.600 . It just won't stay set I pray that you can tell me what I'm doing wrong. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me on this matter. Stay safe and God bless my brother. 🇺🇲🦅
