    Depending on the disc rim, I usually use my index finger. I do have wrist issues. I just didnlt realize *thats* why I found most of my throws work better Index finger vs 2 finger. Some rims feel better 2 finger though.

    Putted with a JuJu for about 2 years, many years ago. I don't remember if they marketed it as "Excelerator technology" as much as being able to find just the right spot for your thumb to fit each individuals hand size, which makes sense on a certain level. Your spitting some facts about putting for sure, but it also feels a bit like marketing hype to call it "Excelerator" . I got pretty decent with it mainly because I was able to practice putting at work for awhile there, but compared to the other "main" putters on the market at the time like the Aviar , it honestly felt no different speed-wise coming out of the hand than any other. That's the only reason it feels disingenuous to me, but maybe I am wrong ? Regardless, keep on rockin' Scott, I'll be a fan till the end :)

    Excelerator Contours are the name that the original owner gave the thumb grooves. I addressed that it doesn't effect the flight in the video. Good grip = speed out of the hand.

    Do the grooves on the Juju help with glide like the dimples on a golf ball do?

  • @mrpoepoe
    @mrpoepoe2 күн бұрын

    disc golf discs don't get help from dimples like a golf ball does. a disc golf disc already has lift and drag in the design of the wing. golf balls get their lift and drag from the dimples because a smooth sphere doesn't create its own lift and drag. dimples on top of a disc golf disc are going to have very little to no effect on the disc because its already a wing

  • @abc_def-55
    @abc_def-55Күн бұрын

    @@mrpoepoe A ball experiences drag and lift just fine without dimples, try throwing a pingpong ball... spin on a smooth ball generates lift because the air sticks to the surface and gets dragged around (oversimplifying, but look up boundary layer). The dimples on a golf ball help reduce drag by keeping the air around the ball more turbulent, you also probably lose some lift, but for a ball it's negligible compared to the reduction in drag. It sort of works with discs too, Latitude 64 used the concept with their "speed 15"-discs Missilen and Raketen with Opto-Hex (hexagonal dimples), though the problem is that while drag was reduced and speed increased... it also lost glide, so distance potential wasn't in the end increased. They completely ignore wind in my experience though... and also the whole fuss of flying around... they leave your hand and land 150m away in what feels like 0.75s later.

    I've been throwing since 2004. I owned 1 one of the OG Ching Jujus. It helped me as a beginner learn how to throw putters. Unfortunately I lost it in the swamps of Buccaneer State park, Waveland Mississippi. It also taught me how to hyzer-flip a putter on FH, before I even knew that term. Keep in mind it was 2004 and I learned more about disc golf from a Park Ranger than the handful of friends that I played with. ❤

    These are interesting discs and I’m sure a novel to have. I don’t know why they originally went out of business but these were around at one point and never really became popular. I’m trying to understand why trying to bring them back is actually a benefit when they never seemed to have a benefit originally. Maybe I’m missing something but I just am trying to better understand.

    I don’t need extra friction on a putter. Also, is it PDGA legal? I think the asymmetry might be an issue. Update: it looks like asymmetry might be okay. I was thinking that the rules which outlawed the Aerobie Epic and the QuestAT Turbo Putt would necessarily rule out the Juju, but that does not appear to be so.

    @caseysmith5442 күн бұрын

    Ching is approved and was from day one. Aerobe Epic was and still is approved, just newer discs made in same way are ban and Epic is what helped decide PDGA needed a Maximum rim width for all discs going forward at 2.2 cm like skinny side of Aerobie. Also From Qest AT, the original 10 meter brick run in baseline where disc could randomly shatter around 45 F, disc manufacture rules were improved so no disc could be made like a 10 meter brick was made ever again. Also, in 1999 Wham-O Max Flight when they did a retool so disc was more like a smaller Jr Pro sized disc wih a midrange rim, was the first over molded approved disc and was almost never going to be approved because of one guy on board who was not a part of he disc and basket approval process wanted all discs made of a single mold plastic like 98% of discs on market or single mold plastic rubber like Blowfly/II and Gumputt were made but rules were changed since Wham-O division of Kransco/Matel who then owned all of Wham-O planned on Suing sending a junction as PDGA Disc Approval Rules did not say explicitly you needed to have disc make a disc of a one piece mold.
