The Story of the First (and only?) Frisbee in Space - Setting an Intergalactic Record

Спорт

Christer Fuglesang, an astronaut from Sweden, brought a Frisbee into space so he could set a World (renamed "intergalactic") Record. I got to share his story!
Correction: in 2006 Juha Jalovaara was president of WFDF. The Swedish Frisbee organization contacted Dan Roddick because he was the official archivist.

As Scott mentioned, the MTA record has been and still is held by Don Cain (known to his friends as 'Sauce'.) As I recall, when the intergalactic record was set, breaking his earth record, Sauce was extremely gracious about it. Unfortunately, Sauce passed away several years ago which was a great loss to his family, friends and the entire Frisbee community.

I used to love MTA and TRC events. The Oak Grove Wintertime Open used to have those events. But La Mirada's US Open was the best. The players package was great, the media coverage was good and all the fans checking out all the pros doing the different events was so fun. GUT'S and DDC. GREAT TIMES #3948

Awesome content . My favorite stories are about the early touring pros . Crashing on couches and catching rides to the next event .

It might not be as exciting as watching history being made, but it sure is fascinating watching history being written down!

Oh man! So bummed nasa nixed the Aviar! Would have been so cool to know that somewhere out there in the deep Black Sea there’s an Aviar still going 🤯😊

I don’t believe that was an Aviar, must have been a Pluto Platter!
