That's the way locomotives sounded when I was little in the 50's and 60's.
And they sound just as good today!
Good find thats huge👍
Thanks alot 😀😀
@@Schony747 no problem
Great video and I hope they don’t use 2 trams and if so where is B1🤣
B1 is in pyjamas sleeping 😆😆
That would be a pretty cool run, I imagine.
Cool run but alot goes on behind the scenes to make sure the whole network is completed.
@@Schony747 No doubt.
1:42 *WHAT?* B2 not wearing pyjamas and "coming down the stairs" with B1? LOL😁
Caught with it's pants down 😃😃
@@Schony747 Not an a-peel-ing sight! LOL 😁
A Survey "Spy" tram? Seeing the driver at the controls (1:00) immediately blows away my mind's view of the driver wearing a black coat and a black Trilby hat and acting furtively at the controls! LOL😁
Sorry! I should have dressed properly.
@@Schony747 LOL😄
Why not just make it permanent and run it once week to detect the defects before there's another whoopsie-daisy during rush hour?
The franchise agreement asks for every 6 months. In it's current form, it's impractical to have a permanent setup but that may change in the next franchise
Yarra Trams should give 2096 a cool yellow and black colour scheme so it looks like a real maintenance vehicle. And it will also look cool on a B Class too.
I'm sure PTV would have something to say about that. Matching uniforms would be cool.as well
awesome video
Thanks 😀 😊
Is 2096 permanently set up like this or is it just temporary?
Just Temporary
Oh okay, thanks
It's a temporary setup. It takes around 4 days to set up and a couple of days to dismantle the setup. It's all done at Preston Workshops
This seems pretty cool and something that would be very useful. And it's great to see a tram video again. It feels like it's been ages. Would love more tram content again please.
Yes I know. People want more tram content. I need to get out and film more.
@@Schony747 Well I look forward to seeing what you have in store. I always love your videos.
So, it basically has a similar function to IEV100
Pretty much I would suspect
First
Thanks 😀
Good work mate on video 📹
Thanks alot
A thing of beauty - elegant lines and wonderful VR paint scheme. I was lucky to get into the cab of one of these back in the 80's, not sure which one though. The noise was a beautiful thing.
Sounds like a winner in a beauty contest!
Will you do the last N coass. Can you please ride one to warrnambool?
I'll ride the Warrnambool when I get a chance mate
Why the PLATOFRM at southern cross got no track in middle
Maybe when it was designed, they thought it wasn't needes
That's interesting. I ❤ trains, trams, take a ride, I have a folder on ''transportation'' (folder 2, in playlists) you will love them too :)
Great. When I find dome time, I'll have a look
@@Schony747 Have a raily great day! :)
Turntable in nice working order
Yes. The while railway runs well. Lots goes on behind the scenes to make it haporn
We need this in Liverpool UK desperately
Not these trams. They tend to have body problems after a few years
Fantastic mate, 549 certainly looks mint now, very nice. Well done to VGR on all the hard work
Yep it looks great Alex. I'm sure you'll be riding at some point
What was the purpose of the flat wagon between the "J"" and the :Y ?
Probably an additional brake capacity incase the J had problems
Moatoa asked Janice from Eastgate community trust group
I was wondering why I haven't seen any recent videos of the steam locomotive pulling the VGR trains. Now I know it was because it was being overhauled. Thanks for this.
It's a welcome sight back on the railway as well!
@@Schony747 For sure.
Steam is always better in the wet I think.
Unless you're out filming it! I'd suggest the colder weather is great for steam
Great Video and great quality.
Thanks for having a look
Amazing work and also to all involved from VGR on the restoration
Brilliant work from a core group of volunteers
Great little branch line in very good track condition by looks of it and well patronised, good base for prosperous future.
Now that steam is back, numbers will increase for sure. Lots goes on behind the scenes to make it look good!
Good work in the wet, great camera shot at 6.00
Thanks! It was an uphill battle for most of the day.
Spectacular show and sounds! Love it!
Spectacular trackside and just as good on the video. Thanks alot!
Tonnage? How much power in the EMDs?
Not sure of the tonnage behind. The S class is around 1800 hp and the B class 1500 hp.
Excellent Video!
Thanks!
Wonder if the engineer is stressing the locomotive might not make it up the hill?
Probably not. They've travelled this grade many times
We’re so lucky to have so many old first generation EMD locos still working and kicking ass. The fact that they sound bloody beautiful is just the icing on the cake.
Correct and we need to enjoy them while we still have them
Last dive #9 tram 😢
It wasn't a bad tram to drive
Fun video
Thanks for riding
Fantastic video mate, i was at Broady for the return during the arvo. Sounded excellent as always
Saw your video mate!
I'm waiting for my turn to drive one either steam or diesel
I'm happy with the cab ride mate. Start small is what I say
@@Schony747 ah i c
At the very start of the video, which station is that ???
Muckleford Station
@@Schony747 Thanks. I did not know that the Melbourne train stopped there.
Much enjoyed! Been to Maldon a few times but sadly never had a ride…Yet! Cheers from Wagga.
Steam is back so it's worth another visit
@@Schony747 great, I hope so. Thanks.

That was good! Interesting loco the little Y’s 👍
One of my favourites

I've done it a few times now myself.
Very enjoyable video. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks alot 😀😀
Fantastic video mate, great to see the push pulls and most of the passes still loco hauled back then of course
Back when we had variety Alex
@@Schony747 haha certainly was mate, the good days
Its actually bacchus marsh side of Ballarat not Melbourne side of Ballarat.
I think people get what I mean. It could also be the Ballan side of Ballarat.
