    Not sure what it was unfortunately but it did have a short shifter…it had issues getting into 3rd…not a gearbox related problem as there was no crunch…I’d probably leave it standard to be honest.

    I have 2010 v50 drive e version with the 1.6d diesel. It has almost 200k miles and i've put around 3,7k miles on it within 2 months. I had to replace the turbo oil feed pipe, intake hoses, eolys fluid add and changed the oil. Now it runs great and i would recommend anyone to get one IF if it has service records. Mine came with over 3k+ in receipts so i knew i wouldn't have to replace the clutch, turbo or dpf for years to come. Nice video btw!

Oh and don't forget to order 2 banjo bolts (They have mesh inside, it's really important to replace them) and be sure to get the correct ones. There are 2, and both are different sizes. It was pretty difficult to find the correct parts but if you need help let me know and i will tell you more. Well it’s not like you’re being forced to watch the video. Either way, these types of videos are supposed to just focus on the driving…it’s not a review. Channels like AutotopNL are very popular and they do both types of videos…one where they focus on the driving with no commentary and also a review style video because some people prefer one or the other. Nowhere do I state that this is a review. If I stated this was a POV drive and I kept talking throughout the entire video, that would have also been a waste of time. My 8 is in the exact same colour code mate (grey with the original alloys in black, black boot lip etc). Owned mine a couple of years. I run the Millers 10w40 too. De-catted (just know a very decent mechanic when it comes to the MOT r.e. emissions, lol). What sparks are you using? Changed the sparks and leads last year to some Iridium NGK's Tyres, I still stick with the Potenza Sports but haven't heard of those Roadstone Eurovis. If they're what you're using on this trackday so sound really grippy and look to handle really well!! Clutch + Gearbox - I upgraded my clutch to stage 2 last year but you seem to shift a fraction quicker at the redline than mine. What have you done there to either gearbox or clutch? Do you use this as a daily too or just pure track use? I've got a couple of cars so I probably only do 150 miles a month in this thing given the 9/10MPG on 99 octane P.S. Just Subscribed

    Thanks for the sub Matthew. I’m actually just about to publish another video with my “best” lap which isn’t perfect but it’s a fairly clean lap. It’s my first time at Cadwell too so didn’t want to crash. As for your comment. I’ve actually got a galaxy grey boot lip but aside from that it’s all the same I think. Mines running a 200cel sports cat at the moment which does actually pass emissions which is a nice bonus. I’m using the same spark plugs as you, they’re pretty much as good as you can get. The Denso ones have different heat ratings which aren’t quite right for normal use. I have however, got some RRP MKIII coils and MSD leads. The tyres I’m only using as they were recommended by a friend and they are dirt cheap (£180 for a set) and for how they perform you simply cannot go wrong. I’ve done nothing to the clutch or gearbox just a fluid change last year myself. It just has an Exedy clutch. Not much point in going for anything else at stock power levels. And nope I don’t use this as a daily but it also isn’t just a track toy, I’d say it’s more for weekend use occasionally as well as track. Thanks again for the sub :-)

    Don't clean your rear rims with expensive rim cleaner! You have drum brakes so NO brake dust. Cleaning with water or APC is fine and will save you some money

  • @livinglifesideways7826
    @livinglifesideways78263 жыл бұрын

    There is still some brake dust and also other bits of contamination. When you drive in wet weather, all sorts of road grime gets deposited on the rear wheels the same way as the fronts therefore it is worth using a wheel cleaning solution as water will not get any of that off. You mentioned water or APC but those two are not the same, so I wouldn't say use either water or APC. APC can of course be used when cleaning wheels which aren't heavily soiled but wheel cleaner always tends to do the best job. Also the wheel cleaner I have was fairly cheap and it is still non acidic so I would just rather use it all around as it makes very little difference in terms of how much money I'd save. I think if the car was being professionally washed and you saw them cheaping out on wheel cleaner just because you've got drum brakes at the back then I think you'd feel slightly annoyed, or maybe that's just me. Plus it's just nice to follow the same routine all round and APC tends to dry a bit quicker compared to my wheel cleaner so it's not very brush friendly.

However, even though Up looks small but is actually very practical, I’ve basically used it as a little van in some situations. And with the mods that it has listen in the description with 150hp, it’s plenty quick enough for British roads and sounds amazing considering it’s just a 1 litre 3 cylinder turbo. I would recommend one if you can get one for 11k maybe 12k max for a 19 plate like mine. Wouldn’t pay nearly 20k for them new though.

And this particular one is now packing 150hp and 250nm of torque so even on the autobahn, it is absolute fine and doesn’t behave like a small hatchback. We were very impressed with it and would do the trips again. Fuel consumption was also excellent. Around 4.5 litres / 100km or around 55-60mpg which I think is pretty impressive especially given that in Germany we were averaging around 100-110mph (around 160-180kph).

    Missed quite a few bits actually ;) Love the car, I have one, and the colour on this one, mine is white sadly. I think the 5-door looks better than the 3-door tbh.
