Fun to watch, I'm not use to seein a ranger register 180 LOL, that style down in murika says 85 LOL It's a ferd, they take a beating. I've never had this engine, always the 4-OHs, but they sure would take a lot of punishment.

Can’t beat the NA 300 6! Makes you wonder, how many vehicles have been written off when all it needed was a little elbow grease in the carb?

Put a stake Rack bed on it, made out of your own cut wood, that would make an ideal truck to haul just about anything you can get on it.

Man, you’re making me miss my 79 F150, To this day that 300 was the best engine I have ever had an any vehicle, but mother nature and God said no to that truck and not one but two trees landed on it…. And it’s still ran even though it was in the shape of at warped Tupperware lid.

My 95 f250 got slammed by a tree. Luckily the bed, cab and hood took all of the damage and saved the important stuff. A new hood, hammered out cab roof and absolutely stoved in bed later, still works great. Although the tool box sits all cattywampus now.

The only thing that compares to a 77 300ci is a 77 460ci. But I will say, the ol' 300 will outlast the 460 bar none

The thing you gotta realize about old farm trucks, it's like that scene from conan, where there starts of with like 6 kids pushing the big mill wheel, then there's like 3, then 2, then just conan. Any time the farmer had 2 beater farm trucks, he scrapped the hypochondriac one, and kept the one that was just loyal. Do that for 50+ years and sure, it's old broke down conan, but it's still effing conan, lol.

I learndid to drive in a 90 f1fiddy 300-6 5spd and beat it like your 1 legged buddy. It ran for 15 mins sitting listening to the radio after I bounced it off a 4’ oak tree shitfaced with the speedo pegged. Broke the trans off the engine and everything. Someday I’ll have another and not be a stunned fuck, well not as stunned.

I always wonder if the people who built these trucks back in the day had any idea of how indestructible of a vehicle they were building. Hundreds of years from now if gas is still available there will be a 300 still buzzing along.

Comparing a 300 six to anything that isnt another 300 six isn't really fair... They say in roughly 8 billion years the sun will super nova and swallow the earth, when that day comes sitting there amongst the ruins of a long dead human society will be some derelict old Ford truck with a 300 six, just waiting to live again 😂
