Suitcase Monkey

Suitcase Monkey

We love travel. However, looking around the thousands of travel vlogs around KZread I noticed that too many of them are more about the person than the place.

While the person (that'll be my wife and I!) is still important in our videos, the place will always come first with Suitcase Monkey so you will see more travel and less "Hey, look at me in Rome!!!"... But honesty up front, there will still be a little of that. 💼 🙈

Hopefully, this approach lets the location shine best. Enjoy.

This channel is based on the real life holidays that I pay for myself so content is uploaded as and when I have been on a well deserved break! Quality over quantity I hope is my moto!

    I left my heart in Porto❤️ Such a special city and the proximity to Braga, Guimerais and Coimbra is a big plus. I loved Lisbon too but it was more touristy and crowded.

    Lovely video of western Canada. You did Alberta proud. In your description, you promise to depersonalize your vids, and focus more on the locale than yourselves. I hope you don’t go overboard with that promise. Travel vids where the narrator hides from the camera invariably become more boring and clinical. Indeed, the image of you in the Swedish Baltic Sea floating in an orange wetsuit, still has me chuckling!

    Haha thanks. I wouldn’t agree I say I’m depersonalising my videos, just that the location is more important than ourselves. I would argue that my voice overs allow me to connect with the audience more than lots of vlogs?

    Love the video! Lovely editing and pleasant to watch. I appreciate that there is no chaotic camera movements, no over the top try-hard personality and no fanservice or clickbait. You showcase the area very well and your calm voice is soothing. It's my dream to go to Santorini one day and your vlog made me feel like I'm there being still in the moment and completely taking in the beauty 🥰 It's been a pleasure watching

    I made the mistake of not leaving enough time to look around and go to a museum. I was looking for a toilet and found one at bottom of town that charges 4 euros, not wanting to pay that much, found another one, but they needed 50 cents and didn't give change or except any other money. I managed one viewpoint then had to leave for the airport. Went to a metro station and got a ticket, unfortunately left my bank card in the machine and didn't realise until I was at the airport. So couldn't get any food until I was on the plane and able to pay on my phone. The whole experience this time made me wish I had spent the extra time in Sintra then gone straight to the airport😅 😂😅

    We went in July (2024) and surprisingly, it wasn’t deathly hot (max 32°) we’ve been in Seville when it was 42! We first tried the Uber tax route from the hotel to Amman museum but found there was a 20 minute wait, then a mix up. So we went out in the street and flagged a yellow cab. We negotiated the fare with the driver before getting in - he wanted 6 Dinar, I suggested 2.00. We agreed on 3 and I gave him 3.50. It was the same getting back to the hotel (the traffic was pretty shocking!) and we had two yellow cabs arguing over our fare (which obviously got lower and lower 😁) but the guys were lovely and a good laugh. I never felt threatened walking in the busy streets at night, but I wouldn’t stay in Amman again - we also went to the smaller town of Madaba (just south of the capital) and much preferred it.

    Hi suitcase monkey😊. How does the get your guide all inclusive pass work please? Does it mean I can see as many attractions as I can fit in two days? Or is there is a maximum number of attractions I can see within 2 days... I'm confused cos I think I can fit in universal studios and at least 7 others.

  • @SuitcaseMonkey
    @SuitcaseMonkey6 күн бұрын

    Hey. I talk more about it in a follow up Singapore tips video so check that out. But there are two types of the all inclusive one includes USJ and you can see as much as you can within the amount of days you book. Or the other one is just for a set number of attractions and doesn’t include USJ
