Al McGlashan

Al McGlashan

I just love fishing and filming basically anything outdoors. Decades ago I turned back on a 'normal' job to embark on a career as photographer and then TV host. Turning my passion into a career has been no easy feat long hours of no pay but I now have the best job in the world! As true waterman I love the ocean, fishing, free diving and filming big fish.

As the world changes I have matured and no longer do I want to just catch fish instead my passion is focused in on filming especially big pelagics underwater. While I started out hosted and produced TV series like Fishn With Mates my best achievement has been the documentaries like Life on the line - the true story of the Southern Bluefin Tuna. I want everyone to enjoy the great outdoors as much as I do and there is no better way to inspire others than through imagery. Once people see the true beauty of the natural world they will want to look after it, so I’m amping my you YT so I hope you enjoy it!

Fun Fact: Mako sharks can tell the difference between humans and prey. The two main reasons as to why a Mako shark would attack are as follows: (1) It’s in a weakened state, eg: injured or starving. (2) You provoked it beforehand Other than that, they’re very inquisitive, and curious animals

I've spent probably close to 50 hours in a 750ht, best fishing boat layout I've been on and very nice finish. Unfortunately like you mentioned they are an extremely wet boat and even the 7.5m in the ruff is extremely wet and have had a few greenies over the bow which isn't what you want when your out wide.

I have NO interest in watching a video by **yet another** Aussie would-be “alpha male” infected by Australian “culture”’s repulsive extolling of “machismo” attempting to “justify” the killing of other living creatures for sport as an ostensible “conservation technique.” Get stuffed.

Hey mate awesome video, got the new 250hp merc on my haines. How does the northbank handle the chop? At 3:20 it looks like it gets super wet in the rough? Would love some feedback as these boats seem to tick all the boxes for the upgrade im looking for cheers.

Finally some hope in the world, the total weight limit in Victoria is 160 kg or two fish totalling that weight per person. Seriously why cant it be per boat? Who needs 160 kg of fish to take home?? Thats a ridiculous amount of fish. One of the best docos ive ever seen, it should be reduced to one fish and over 100kg has to be thrown back. Now our government has to get heavy one super trawlers and focus more on the small commercial fisherman. Why we import fish from overseas is beyond me, and I dont understand why humans fish something to the edge of extinction...Japan needs to lift its game, they consume 40+ percent of the annual worlds catch!
