    Hey Andy! Thanks for the wonderful video! i landed here cause im traveling to thailand in november and im visiting the Khao Sok National Park. Did you booked a guiding or know if there is a way to book a guiding for this area? Sadly i have no fishing equipment with me, so i am dependent on an guidance.

    Hi, thanks for the kind words. Yes I booked a guide, it was a Thai outfit called Chiew Larn Fishing on Facebook, I'm not sure if they are still operating as that was a few years ago, you could give Neil at Fishing Khaolak Fishing a try, he's a great guide I'd recommend, contact him at [email protected]. Hi Andy .. came across your video .. need some advice please…I am due fishing in Thailand next year for a few species including arapaima Which hooks would you advise me to get please ? I bought 4/0 & 6/0 Mustad Circle hooks. Thanks

  • @andyhartfishing
    @andyhartfishing2 ай бұрын

    Hi John. Yeah those will probably be fine, actually all of the resort venues that stock arapaima supply all the tackle and bait anyway so there's usually no need to bring anything. Some even insist you use their tackle, or at least will need to approve what you bring, so I wouldn't worry too much about terminal tackle. They'll know what works best for their species. If you know what venues you'll be fishing you could just ask them directly. Cheers for watching, I'm sure you'll have an awesome trip out there next year. Give me a shout if you have any other questions.

  • @andyhartfishing
    @andyhartfishing2 жыл бұрын

    Many thanks Paul. If I remember rightly, the line was 80lb braid and the hook would've been one for carp, maybe a size 2 UK size, as I caught that arri on the lam rod. Usually hooks for arri fishing would be bigger though. A few places use circle hooks for them. And yes, the fishery provides all the tackle, don'e need to take any of your own.
