I really want to play this game so I can review it myself. Having played all mainline AC titles, Sekiro, and the 2 Jedi games, I want to confirm whether the praise this game gets is well deserved or are some parts of it is overrated. People all over the internet are always like, AC Shadows will not beat GoT, when AC Shadows is not even out yet for us to put a verdict. Then I see in your video how GoT doesn't even have decent parkour. So maybe Valhalla has better parkour even. And people always complain about parkour in Valhalla.

I just didn’t like this game that much. I tried, I really did. I made it to the snowy area and it was just more of the same stuff I spent like the first 10 hours doing and I was over it. The combat wasn’t particularly engaging, difficult or cool (aesthetically pleasing) enough for me, it felt slow and I couldn’t care less about the story. This is all subjective of course but I’m kinda hoping someone will tell or show me something that will make me wanna go back and finish it one time.

If you haven’t already checked it out, this game has an online mode where you can tackle survival mode or story missions with other players. The combat is entirely different but the same, as you fight oni demons with special abilities and equipment not found in the story campaign.

I did my first playthrough on lethal while ignoring most of the game mechanics like ghost weapons/stance, and I wasn't on top of my katana/charm upgrades, went through the game doing major quests only. Late game was really challenging since enemies take an eternity to die and I was getting one shotted by everything, I mean if you want a challenge that's the way to go, fight like a real samurai.

A lot of people are dismissing archer as the weakest DPS and glorifying magick archer because its OP but its not actually because Magick Archer is a Glass Cannon with little to no defense and mobility, its mostly good for bosses but when it comes to multiple mobs where you are surrounded you’re a sitting duck. Archer on the other hand has mobility and its gameplay revolves around you being tactical using carefully positioned shots to get the most damage possible and its also the class that can apply status effects as fast as possible, A bow with Dwarven Enhancements can easily knockback any boss compared to any skill Magick Archer has.

Look, I’m willing to bet when the game comes out, if you view the credits you will find SweetBaby inc somewhere, and we all know the bs they force into game projects they work on. Including Yasuke isn’t a problem per se, but it’s important to ask WHY they included him and what they intend to do with his character. I’d bet my left nut it’s for some sort of social progressive reason. Ask a Japanese person what they think, of all the Japanese people throughout their history, and they pick a character that isn’t even Japanese for a game set in Japan. Sure you can include some non Japanese factions that encountered the Japanese like the Portuguese or Americans, hell it would be interesting to make them Templars! But Yasuke? Really? Given Ubisofts decisions in the past and the fact they’ve previously worked with SweetBaby inc, we all know why they picked him to be a main character.

The term "samurai" comes from the Japanese word saburau, meaning "to serve". Yasuke served Nobunaga as a retainer, which would be considered a high honour, especially for a slave. On top of this he was granted his own sword and armor and small land, by a lord. This is not surprising as it was common practice for a retainer to be granted these things. I suggest doing some research on Samurai retainers. A retainer refers to a vassal in feudal Japan, usually a samurai providing military services. The word "samurai" has been romanticised heavily in modern culture. You could be a farmer, a diplomat, or a fisherman, and still be a samurai so long as you were trained in bushido code and served a lord. Considering Yasuke's duties, he would have almost certainly been referred to as one. Funnily enough, the outrage is most prominent amongst non-Japanese people like yourself. A lot of people from Japan have already weighed in and rendered the "he isn't a samurai" argument moot. Samurai = to serve, a warrior who serves. He was granted weapons and armor and served Nobunaga, therefore he was a samurai. This isn't debatable.

@@toa695 A samurai is a very specific thing and it wasn't an easy thing to obtain let alone for a foreigner or commoner let alone someone who was only in country for some 15 months and only fought in one known battle where he was captured. Samurai were almost always from a noble class much like knights from Europe it wasn't something just granted willy nilly. He was granted a short blade Samurais rank was determined by two blades the main one being a katana which was a symbol of ones rank he was never granted one by any of the historical accounts. He was a weapon bearer of Nobunaga and a retainer that doesn't make him samurai there were lots of retainers in history that were not samurai. If they wanted a truly unique case from that time period they could of went with Toyotomi Hideyoshi who is a very famous character in Japanese culture a man of humble beginnings who became a lord, instead they choose some guy who was barely in country for over a year 15 months by all accounts and is only ever documented to have fought in one skirmish which he lost not a very good character, had he not been of African descent he wouldn't of even been a footnote.

*Samurai is hereditary military nobility and officer caste,* and have special right to kill people of lower ranks. Not just some dude with katana who serve a master. There were many people with katana who serve a feudal lord, know and practice bushido, have code of honor, but they're not samurai. Some retainers with great contribution/accomplishment were granted samurai rank, but most retainers never become samurai. There were also warriors who serve and fight for their lords but aren't samurai, such as ashigaru, ninja, sohei, etc. Btw, "monk" means alone. that doesn't mean everybody who is alone is a monk.

Seeing a lot of fuss about the pricing online so here’s the breakdown The base game is $70, I believe this is the first Assassins Creed game with that price point since the industry increase from $60 The Gold Edition is $110, that includes the base game and the season pass, making the season pass value at $40 which is typically how much a season pass costs. Previous AC games have had two expansions priced at $25 each, making it cheaper to buy the season pass than each DLC individually. The Ultimate Edition is $130 (Valhalla and Odyssey also had $120 ultimate editions in case you forgot), and it includes the base game, season pass, and an “ultimate pack” containing cosmetics and a few skill points. After adding the base price and the season pass price, that makes the ultimate pack cost $20. $20 is less than the cost of a skin in a $70 game like Call of Duty. What exactly is there to be mad about with these prices, specially when it’s not the first time this series has had editions of the game in the $100 range? There was zero reason to pick Yasuke as the posterboy for their new game. Plain and simple. It's not wrong to think that, nor is it wrong to accept it. It's just a cheap grab for points from Ubisoft's end. Had they instead made it one of the first Europeans to become legitimate samurais, there would've been an equally large uproar with accusations of 'wacism and hwyte supremacy'. Had they simply given a Japanese man and woman, then none of this dumb Race War bullshit that has long plagued the gaming industry would of happened. At least to a lesser extent - I'm sure people would still moan and complain about Yasuke's presence even as a side character. Racial bullshit aside, I'm very certain the game will look great. Ubisoft has rarely slacked in making wonderful looking landscapes, towns and cities. I just hope the gameplay keeps to the formula they went through in Mirage, though I predict Yasuke's gameplay will be more outright combat oriented. Hard to be subtle when you're the only 6ft tall African in medieval Japan, lol.

So when players says "I don't have enough time for this crap" Then they will have sell the solution which is selling 5 exp points for skill tree. And this, in the future, the bloated price becomes normalized, and we'll get used to it paying 70 dollars for a game that is supposed to be completely offline (which it won't becauss of denuvo drm etc.)

Our issue isn't just protagonist isn't Japanese samurai, our issue is he is the first playable historical figure and we all know it's to use him as a shield to deflect from the 130$ price of the game. So that any criticism of the game can be labelled racism against Yasuke. In every other AC game the protagonists have always been a fictional character, I highly doubt that they wanted to use Yasuke now as a change of heart. I don't have an issue with the other protagonist but remember every double protagonist game has had both be members of the same race. Evie and Jacob Frye, Alexios or Kassandra, Eivor(M) or Eivor(F).

Okay let's be real tho. This $130 price tag is $10 more than it was literally 10 years ago. Not much has changed. Now I agree that $70 for some of these games is wayyyyyy to expensive. But something this massive. Idk I don't see it. There is thousands of potential hours you can put into this game. $60 back in the day promised a 8-30 hour storyline and MAYBE a new game plus. Back when I played blackops 1 I forked over about $110-$120 for extra maps and zombies. For years games have sold versions with the promise of future dlc. (Season passes) It's not like you are purchasing an unfinished game. There is so much content in base version you don't even need the dlcs. But if you want a butt load of extra content you can have it. Not really supporting AC per say but more ppl freaking about this price point (as it's $10 more than it was a couple years ago) and people saying "they are selling an unfinished game so you can buy dlc". The main thing that ticks me off is when games started doing 2 season passes. Like borderlands 3. One season pass I'm down for. 2???? And you don't put anything good in the first season pas??? Not great. But then again look at DBZ Kakorat. Game has like 3 seasons passes but people are loving it! So I think, really just matters if the content is good. 👍

See I hate when instead of writing a good plot, every race and gender, and sexuality needs to be shoehorned in, no matter if it makes sense in the story. The black samurai though, is not that. Can't remember his name, but he is based on a real black man who became a samurai. The weird questionable thing is the rumor of making him gay because we need more gay representation. Write a good story, not pushing agendas. I am not saying a gay person can't be a good character, but it goes to shit when someone is gay, blue hair, struggles with gayness in a none gay black and white tyrannical environment because they are gay, and tanks the plot. Same goes with women. A woman can be a great character, but if you give her no struggles, make her better then men not because of training, but because just is woman, then you are writing a sad story into the ground. Show her getting stronger. Show her struggle. Show her results of training. Women and Men can be great, just don't let your political views influence the plot.

Game fucking sucks, its literally a new age AC game but its not ubisoft and its in soyjakpan, 6/10 at best if ubisoft released this people would say its 4/10
Magick archer broke the game and made me end up super bored because of how OP it is. Ricochet arrow vs any dungeon is an absolute joke. You fire and just watch the XP come in.

I really want to play this game so I can review it myself. Having played all mainline AC titles, Sekiro, and the 2 Jedi games, I want to confirm whether the praise this game gets is well deserved or are some parts of it is overrated. People all over the internet are always like, AC Shadows will not beat GoT, when AC Shadows is not even out yet for us to put a verdict. Then I see in your video how GoT doesn't even have decent parkour. So maybe Valhalla has better parkour even. And people always complain about parkour in Valhalla.

I just didn’t like this game that much. I tried, I really did. I made it to the snowy area and it was just more of the same stuff I spent like the first 10 hours doing and I was over it. The combat wasn’t particularly engaging, difficult or cool (aesthetically pleasing) enough for me, it felt slow and I couldn’t care less about the story. This is all subjective of course but I’m kinda hoping someone will tell or show me something that will make me wanna go back and finish it one time.
If you haven’t already checked it out, this game has an online mode where you can tackle survival mode or story missions with other players. The combat is entirely different but the same, as you fight oni demons with special abilities and equipment not found in the story campaign.
I did my first playthrough on lethal while ignoring most of the game mechanics like ghost weapons/stance, and I wasn't on top of my katana/charm upgrades, went through the game doing major quests only. Late game was really challenging since enemies take an eternity to die and I was getting one shotted by everything, I mean if you want a challenge that's the way to go, fight like a real samurai.
Agreed. Very fun on Lethal it keeps you lashing out combos haha but the real challenge in this game is to find a match in Legends lol
Very honest review. I dont understamd why people compare everything good with "souls like" this game is easy as hell. Not near to be hard. I'm totally with you, if you are in for experience the story, scenarios and soundtrack is amazing. Thats pretty much it.
yeah compared to Sekiro GoT is a cake walk but I feel like I get more satisfaction from GoT combat mostly the finishers

A lot of people are dismissing archer as the weakest DPS and glorifying magick archer because its OP but its not actually because Magick Archer is a Glass Cannon with little to no defense and mobility, its mostly good for bosses but when it comes to multiple mobs where you are surrounded you’re a sitting duck. Archer on the other hand has mobility and its gameplay revolves around you being tactical using carefully positioned shots to get the most damage possible and its also the class that can apply status effects as fast as possible, A bow with Dwarven Enhancements can easily knockback any boss compared to any skill Magick Archer has.
Stopped playing the game because all the classes suck compared to the last games.

Look, I’m willing to bet when the game comes out, if you view the credits you will find SweetBaby inc somewhere, and we all know the bs they force into game projects they work on. Including Yasuke isn’t a problem per se, but it’s important to ask WHY they included him and what they intend to do with his character. I’d bet my left nut it’s for some sort of social progressive reason. Ask a Japanese person what they think, of all the Japanese people throughout their history, and they pick a character that isn’t even Japanese for a game set in Japan. Sure you can include some non Japanese factions that encountered the Japanese like the Portuguese or Americans, hell it would be interesting to make them Templars! But Yasuke? Really? Given Ubisofts decisions in the past and the fact they’ve previously worked with SweetBaby inc, we all know why they picked him to be a main character.

Yes, it deserves all the hate. They took an amazing opportunity with Japanese culture and then took a big dump on it by promoting a historical footnote as something he was not (a samurai). Then proceeded to claim everyone else is racist for not liking it, and homophobe because apparently he's also gay. Then there's major gaming websites twisting historical facts to suit the agenda and make everyone else look horrible but history is based on facts, not speculation. And yes, the other AC's weren't historically correct either but ethnicity-wise they were always spot on point and it always fit the narrative.
The term "samurai" comes from the Japanese word saburau, meaning "to serve". Yasuke served Nobunaga as a retainer, which would be considered a high honour, especially for a slave. On top of this he was granted his own sword and armor and small land, by a lord. This is not surprising as it was common practice for a retainer to be granted these things. I suggest doing some research on Samurai retainers. A retainer refers to a vassal in feudal Japan, usually a samurai providing military services. The word "samurai" has been romanticised heavily in modern culture. You could be a farmer, a diplomat, or a fisherman, and still be a samurai so long as you were trained in bushido code and served a lord. Considering Yasuke's duties, he would have almost certainly been referred to as one. Funnily enough, the outrage is most prominent amongst non-Japanese people like yourself. A lot of people from Japan have already weighed in and rendered the "he isn't a samurai" argument moot. Samurai = to serve, a warrior who serves. He was granted weapons and armor and served Nobunaga, therefore he was a samurai. This isn't debatable.

@@toa695 A samurai is a very specific thing and it wasn't an easy thing to obtain let alone for a foreigner or commoner let alone someone who was only in country for some 15 months and only fought in one known battle where he was captured. Samurai were almost always from a noble class much like knights from Europe it wasn't something just granted willy nilly. He was granted a short blade Samurais rank was determined by two blades the main one being a katana which was a symbol of ones rank he was never granted one by any of the historical accounts. He was a weapon bearer of Nobunaga and a retainer that doesn't make him samurai there were lots of retainers in history that were not samurai. If they wanted a truly unique case from that time period they could of went with Toyotomi Hideyoshi who is a very famous character in Japanese culture a man of humble beginnings who became a lord, instead they choose some guy who was barely in country for over a year 15 months by all accounts and is only ever documented to have fought in one skirmish which he lost not a very good character, had he not been of African descent he wouldn't of even been a footnote.
*Samurai is hereditary military nobility and officer caste,* and have special right to kill people of lower ranks. Not just some dude with katana who serve a master. There were many people with katana who serve a feudal lord, know and practice bushido, have code of honor, but they're not samurai. Some retainers with great contribution/accomplishment were granted samurai rank, but most retainers never become samurai. There were also warriors who serve and fight for their lords but aren't samurai, such as ashigaru, ninja, sohei, etc. Btw, "monk" means alone. that doesn't mean everybody who is alone is a monk.
Tbh I don’t understand why everyone keeps acting like the base game is 130$. It’s not. It’s 70$ just like every other game nowadays. The 130$ version will likely include 2-4 dlc which in the past add a shit ton of content. It’s just kinda misleading to keep acting like the game has a 130$ price tag, when that’s literally the ultimate edition (also so many triple AAA games have an expensive ultimate edition option)
My issue is the almost neurotic need to infect games with woke/DEI BS, I don't give a damn about the other aspects, I don't care that you can choose to sleep with men or women. But just KNOWING what lurkes behind the choices Ubisoft made irritates me no end, so there is no way I'm gonna be able to enjoy this game, although I really want to, immersion is broken, big time....

Seeing a lot of fuss about the pricing online so here’s the breakdown The base game is $70, I believe this is the first Assassins Creed game with that price point since the industry increase from $60 The Gold Edition is $110, that includes the base game and the season pass, making the season pass value at $40 which is typically how much a season pass costs. Previous AC games have had two expansions priced at $25 each, making it cheaper to buy the season pass than each DLC individually. The Ultimate Edition is $130 (Valhalla and Odyssey also had $120 ultimate editions in case you forgot), and it includes the base game, season pass, and an “ultimate pack” containing cosmetics and a few skill points. After adding the base price and the season pass price, that makes the ultimate pack cost $20. $20 is less than the cost of a skin in a $70 game like Call of Duty. What exactly is there to be mad about with these prices, specially when it’s not the first time this series has had editions of the game in the $100 range? There was zero reason to pick Yasuke as the posterboy for their new game. Plain and simple. It's not wrong to think that, nor is it wrong to accept it. It's just a cheap grab for points from Ubisoft's end. Had they instead made it one of the first Europeans to become legitimate samurais, there would've been an equally large uproar with accusations of 'wacism and hwyte supremacy'. Had they simply given a Japanese man and woman, then none of this dumb Race War bullshit that has long plagued the gaming industry would of happened. At least to a lesser extent - I'm sure people would still moan and complain about Yasuke's presence even as a side character. Racial bullshit aside, I'm very certain the game will look great. Ubisoft has rarely slacked in making wonderful looking landscapes, towns and cities. I just hope the gameplay keeps to the formula they went through in Mirage, though I predict Yasuke's gameplay will be more outright combat oriented. Hard to be subtle when you're the only 6ft tall African in medieval Japan, lol.
My two cents is that Ubisoft keeps capitalizing the reason of players being busy. So when players says "I don't have enough time for this crap" Then they will have sell the solution which is selling 5 exp points for skill tree. And this, in the future, the bloated price becomes normalized, and we'll get used to it paying 70 dollars for a game that is supposed to be completely offline (which it won't becauss of denuvo drm etc.)

Our issue isn't just protagonist isn't Japanese samurai, our issue is he is the first playable historical figure and we all know it's to use him as a shield to deflect from the 130$ price of the game. So that any criticism of the game can be labelled racism against Yasuke. In every other AC game the protagonists have always been a fictional character, I highly doubt that they wanted to use Yasuke now as a change of heart. I don't have an issue with the other protagonist but remember every double protagonist game has had both be members of the same race. Evie and Jacob Frye, Alexios or Kassandra, Eivor(M) or Eivor(F).
Okay let's be real tho. This $130 price tag is $10 more than it was literally 10 years ago. Not much has changed. Now I agree that $70 for some of these games is wayyyyyy to expensive. But something this massive. Idk I don't see it. There is thousands of potential hours you can put into this game. $60 back in the day promised a 8-30 hour storyline and MAYBE a new game plus. Back when I played blackops 1 I forked over about $110-$120 for extra maps and zombies. For years games have sold versions with the promise of future dlc. (Season passes) It's not like you are purchasing an unfinished game. There is so much content in base version you don't even need the dlcs. But if you want a butt load of extra content you can have it. Not really supporting AC per say but more ppl freaking about this price point (as it's $10 more than it was a couple years ago) and people saying "they are selling an unfinished game so you can buy dlc". The main thing that ticks me off is when games started doing 2 season passes. Like borderlands 3. One season pass I'm down for. 2???? And you don't put anything good in the first season pas??? Not great. But then again look at DBZ Kakorat. Game has like 3 seasons passes but people are loving it! So I think, really just matters if the content is good. 👍

Yes, it's really not that deep. Yosuke exists. We have a female Japanese assassin. There's no bird in the trailer so no more birds. The real issue is the pricing. If I were to put the hatred for AC shadows due to the controversy it garnered on a scale from 1-10 I would say it was an 11/10. However in reality I think the controversy when you actually look at everything is only justified if it were a 7-8/10.

See I hate when instead of writing a good plot, every race and gender, and sexuality needs to be shoehorned in, no matter if it makes sense in the story. The black samurai though, is not that. Can't remember his name, but he is based on a real black man who became a samurai. The weird questionable thing is the rumor of making him gay because we need more gay representation. Write a good story, not pushing agendas. I am not saying a gay person can't be a good character, but it goes to shit when someone is gay, blue hair, struggles with gayness in a none gay black and white tyrannical environment because they are gay, and tanks the plot. Same goes with women. A woman can be a great character, but if you give her no struggles, make her better then men not because of training, but because just is woman, then you are writing a sad story into the ground. Show her getting stronger. Show her struggle. Show her results of training. Women and Men can be great, just don't let your political views influence the plot.

It's $10 more than what they have been doing for years. They give the biggest games out there with the most content. Base game is always MASSIVE with thousands of hours worth of content. $120 season passes have been sold for over a decade. And for much much less than what AC is going to give you.

The majority of criticism for this game always seemed pretty stupid to me. Hoping for a gameplay trailer some time soon, and will only get the game depending on if I like what I see. People can do whatever they want with their own money but if you pre order something without even really seeing what it has to offer than you are basically asking to get disappointed
